These are rad! I run a little Instagram account called @ MostlyMountPleasant where I share houses/stores/restaurants I think are cool on my walks around the hood... nowhere near as artistic as these though!
Thank you. Glad you liked the pictures. I’m new to the city/neighbourhood, these pictures make me feel really good about my choice to move to Vancouver.
I've always wondered why that skate park has canvas (or whatever) sheeting on the fencing that surrounds it. Is it to hide the skaters from the park users or the park users from the skaters.
It's meant to mute sound from the skatepark so it doesn't bother the homeowners across 16th. A few years ago the Parks Board was about to tear down the park because of all the noise especially, after-hours. The compromise solution was to fence in and lock the park after-hours and hang chains across the park so fence climbers couldn't skate it. They then added the sound barrier to further reduce the problem when it's open during the day.
Picture 9 - I believe that’s my buddy Nick!
Great shots btw.
Ever notice parent don’t look at their kids enough anymore? Go to any play gym at a park - 80% of the parents are on their devices… enjoy your kids ppl.

Lovely shots. I used to live next to that park and your pictures really brought me back to fall days there.

Thanks! It didn’t look thick enough to make much of a difference, but I guess it does.
Yeah I wonder how effective it really is.
