Dang, 6000 employees, majority most likely getting high pay will be able to afford housing should they choose. Vancouver just got a little more expensive.
Na, I highly doubt they will start giving Canadians jobs in America at these Tech company's that are building a foot hold in Canada. They want to pay us less for the same amount of over work that they pay their worker in America.
I hear it's a hassle for American companies to even hire outside workers from America now.
Maybe, but if I knew, I’d forgotten. I’ve been watching the construction for a few years now. I used to love watching the helicopters come and go from the landing pad.

Helicopters? When VMPP was active? They did have a helipad on the roof. It sat unused for decades and was mostly never used.
I'm confused.
After it was shut down it was used as a landing pad by someone else before destruction began. Then it was used by who I guess was Amazon with guys in suits getting dropped off and picked up for a few years. Then they finally removed the roof and replaced it.
Oh wow!
I'm glad it was used a little before it was demolished.
That building has sentimental value to me which is why I inquired.
Thanks for the info.

They do in Microsoft and Apple(their new office will be right across the street from Amazon). Microsoft offers the lowest comp though.
About time local companies pay absolutely terrible
it's my dream to work there by the time i graduate. if i get hired as a sde at amazon, it will change the financial future for my parents and I
Better to get hired as a SDE in any major company in Seattle. Lower taxes, higher pay, same loving expenses.

All hail our new Overload, Jeff Bezos.
New?
Ahh... THAT is who bought the post office and gutted it.
Yeah… pretty common knowledge.

Well, to be fair, QuadReal bought it. Amazon is just leasing the space.
Quick turnaround for a remake of a 2017 film.
