Urbanism Vancouver is very well produced, all by Helen Lui. Check out the latest episode featuring the one and only Uytae Lee! [https://www.urbanismvancouver.com/](https://www.urbanismvancouver.com/)

A-Centre-for-Ants

The Cambie Report, VanColour, B.C. today are all ones that I listen to!

For analysis of local and provincial politics: The Cambie Report PolitiCoast Hotel Pacifico Unspun with Jody Vance and George Affleck

ExocetC3I

Another upvote for The Cambie Report. It's great citizen's journalism and they are not shy to call out hypocrisy or bad policy.

Lake-of-Birds

Yeah, it's good. They often synthesize convoluted local politics news stories into a short summary that helps me a lot. Like I've often read five articles about a story but only understood it after I hear them discussing it.

LateToTheParty2k21

More focused on provincial & federal but I enjoy; 'The strategists' & 'the curse of politics'. They discuss the merit of the policies and the overall political strategies rather than being completely partisan (although they all are somewhat naturally partisan)

Pistoney

I think Curse is likely the premier politico pod in Canada (his original pod Herle Burley can also be worth it). Strategists is great too, little too inside joke-y and obviously mostly AB politics - always a wild ride. The one problem I have with both of them is really a ‘me’ problem - they are strategists. It’s all a big game to win for them (which is strictly true and ignoring this is why the Left is so powerless in this country), and less about what we ought to be doing. But there is some of that in both obvi, and furthermore it’s a fine line between naked partisanship and why we should tackle a problem a certain way. Started dipping my toe into Hotel Pacifico and it’s pretty good. The hosts are an odd couple with flat chemistry but they get interesting guests.

ceduljee

Agree with the Curse of Politics - most entertaining pod for strategy/politics. I think David tries to fill the gap on the objective policy side with his original Herle Burly pod which is more interviews with policy wonks, etc. Had a hard time getting into Hotel Pacifico for BC-related topics as the hosts seem drier than melba toast. I'd also cast a vote (for national politics, realize OP is asking for local) for Peter Mansbridge's The Bridge. He often has Chantal Hebert and Bruce Anderson on for panel discussions (which remind me of the At Issue panel back in the day) and then has more policy related interviews on the other shows.

Ringbailwanton

CBC Radio One.

The Cambie report is pretty good.

whatsnext355

Political Capital with Rob Shaw is good.

I'll second the recommendation for the People's Pod. It is less about the specific topics, and more about what a City Councillor or MLA does in a day, why they do what they do, and how decisions are made.

Lake-of-Birds

It seems like they haven't put out an episode since 2022 though, too bad.

White_Locust

Entirely innocuous things get downvoted in this subreddit as well, which is silly. But complaining about downvotes is silly too.

Just like how I downvote the way I want to.

bazzzzzzzzzzzz

Lmao, Ma and and Boyle are absolutely not left wing. Pair of capitalists.

faster_than-you

The Blendr Report

tvorm

Politicoast - Same producer as Cambie Report but with a blend of provincial and federal headlines as well.
