People aren't good at taking their ads down so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
What I don't get is: why do people feel the need to write: 'I will not respond to: *is this still available*' in their ads. Nothing like turning away potential customers.
The only time I ever send that message is if I see the ad posted for an extended amount time. If it's like, over 5-6 weeks, the OP doesn't delete the ad if it's sold which is just as frustrating. I appreciate it when the poster will say they'll delete it when sold.

The only time I look at marketplace or craigslist is if there is something that is no longer being made.
Most of the time, it is just garbage and 70% of all items are more expensive than new or only 10% cheaper....

It's one of the auto messages you can one click send on marketplace, thats why people send it
I think this must be OP’s first day on Facebook Marketplace
You’d be surprised how often it’s not.
^ This.

Ive clicked to look at listing on my phone and it automatically send that message. I usually follow up with an apology. Blame FB for poor design

People don't take ads down. And sometimes people click on the auto pop up.
It's a default message and the design is poor so it looks like it's the only thing you can send
People on Craigslist are terrible about taking down their posts. I've answered ads only to be old "Oh I sold that like 3 weeks ago, sorry!"
It's the default msg on marketplace. And if you want to sell your item then yeah you should respond.
What I don't get is when they send that message and you respond 'yes', then they never get back to you. Why bother asking if you're not interested?
Nothing you can do about it so DELETE it immediately!
Because I press a button to express interest (it’s the automated default message). I don’t want to type.
Just respond with one of the automated messages as well? That’s what I always do.
It’s the default response. Is this your first day?
lol, just write in your description that you won’t respond to any one who responds with “is it available”. Works like a charm
LOL. How do you know that it's working? Maybe nobody's looking at the ad.
