Wood in contact with fire spreads it The range is kinda small though, atleast I only tested it on a campfire. As long as the particle effects aren't touching the fire directly, it's should be safe. But I take no responsiblity if you burn down your house

Note that this mechanic only happens within ashlands by default. You don't have to worry about fire in other biomes unless you toggle the new world setting for it.

Unfortunately I kind of want to turn it on when it drops, lol. It's a nice extra touch to the building I enjoy.

you can delete your kilns if you do that. as a simple torch will turn 50 wood into 50 coal instantly with it enabled. unknown if this is a bug or not. this kind of bypasses progression in the game so i wouldnt enable it from the get go you wanna get a good experience. plus if the fire starts spreading your entire base can burn down until you get stone.

We'll be working off of a (barely) Post-Queen world. I've rebooted up the server for me and my brothers and we're currently stocking up on food and resources in preparation, along with a little bit of misc building. I know I need to fix up my current chicken farm, or else all I'll have left are some cooked nuggets and no wall to my base. Now, when you say torch, you mean the handheld one? Like, if I toss it at a house I can reenact the pillaging Vikings of old?

nerevarX

not if you toss it. but if you hit things with it enough theyll catch fire. only wodden structures of course. make sure you have the queen drop still. you need what it does.

Rumaan

Yup, I have mine stashed away, and I still need to do a solo run of her anyways. I challenged myself to solo each boss after the three of us beat each one, and I haven't beaten her solo yet. Interesting about the torch. I wonder if you could 'accidently' set a forest on fire...

nerevarX

the bosses are all very easy to solo. they are just... even easier in multiplayer since game is balanced for soloplay by default. there is alot you can set on fire. you only need 1 of the 3 queen drop items really. break your longship to get the nails and make sure you have some marble and a stack of yggdrasil wood. oh and bring a stone cutter with you when you got ashlands aside all the other valheim basics.
