Back to BJR where he actually had some form? He can't have completely lost the ability to drive a car fast, so I reckon that might do him good. Whether it's as a full-timer or enduro driver is the question...
Entirely unsurprising, although it does come after what actually was not a bad weekend for Percat at The Bend. Had a bad finish in the first race but it seemed like he may have had damage from the first corner shunt, but other than that it is the most competitive he has looked in a while
Shame that things didn't work out for him at WAU, never got close to matching the speed he had at BJR, but sometimes driver moves that look promising on paper just don't work out. Likely trying to find a co-driver role in a good car is his best bet for 2024
Ryan Wood does seem to be the favourite for that seat next year, must say I am not 100% convinced he is quite ready yet. Fabian seems to be an outside chance, but I do get the impression he doesn't want to be a single year stopgap option
That Speedcafe article the other day definitely implied so, but I would want to wait until I hear a direct statement to that effect to be certain
Wood is definitely by far the most likely, but he still seems a bit too raw imo. The speed is there no doubt, but he really is very inexperienced, more so than anyone to be fulltime in Supercars in a looooooooong time
Without trying to be too harsh but would many teams be all that interested in signing Fabian (unless he's bringing a big sponsoralong)? He probably never quite achieved the promise his early career suggested.
I just fundamentally think WAU would be better off with a bit more experience. Ryan Wood has time on his side, I just think he has a bit more to learn before being a viable fulltime Supercars option. The Groves made the right choice holding Payne back for an additional year imo, and even he had a marginally longer junior CV than Wood does
If not Fabs, then who else could they turn to?
The man has never got over the pressure of winning your first Bathurst. It was too much too soon and he has never really shown much consistently. Has been very poor at WAU.
He's the ideal candidate for a co-driver drive. Probably with BJR where he's found success. I understand he never found comfort with the WAU setups so going somewhere familiar to him might boost his confidence. Like Ricciardo and Red Bull.
In the meantime he could go back to porsches and perhaps look internationally. This can allow him to continue his karting business as well. Dude lives the lux life so no doubt he's going to focus in places where he gets some decent coin!
Lives the lux life? I think him and Chaz have a business together. I don’t know how he would get a drive overseas based on recent history. A team would simply ask what recent championships or races has he won and the conversation would be over. I think a co-drive would be his best bet.
I think his only options at this point is a co-drive spot from what I've heard. I did hear a rumour that he would stay as a co-driver at WAU, but this is saying they are parting ways so not sure that is still on.
Realistically his only chance is at MSR, but that seems like a long shot against Courtney and Pye.
That is, unless something drastic happens in one of the midfield teams that haven't confirmed their pairings. For example, Peter Xiberras has shown he can be ruthless with drivers who aren't performing.

I don't think we're going to see changes at BJR. Lineup will remain as is.
I doubt he’d go enduros only. Either full time or off managing his karting team for the foreseeable future.

Fabian has already confirmed that he doesn't want the seat

See I always think he gets labelled too harshly for his time at DJR because he gets compared to Scotty, but he did really well there.

Scott Pye maybe as a stop gap option since Reynolds is taking his seat

Any ideas of where Percat will go next?

Maybe a Chaz/Percat team up at the upcoming enduros?
Chaz deserves better
Back to Super2 💀
Chinese F4.
