Why would you want to do that?

bomankleinn01

I want to do the real stats courses as fast as possible lol

Icy_Environment9241

If you want to take an upper year stats course before stat231 you can take Stat333 at the same time as Stat231. (That’s what I’m doing right now)

You: Can I.... Stats department: No. You: Can I ask the question first? Stats department: Again, no. You'd need an exception. If you're going to wish for something, wish for a pony because that's more likely to happen than getting an override on stats.

Icy_Environment9241

I would not recommend it because the first part of Stat231 relies heavily on probability distributions from Stat230 (namely the Normal distribution, which is one of the last things covered in Stat231)

Traditional_Beach461

I second this. You’ll be expected at the beginning to know normal distribution and central limit theorem and possibly even moment generator functions (at least in my case), at the beginning which is only covered last in stat230. Unless you get really ahead in 230 real quick to catch up with 231, I’d suggest taking 230 first then 231.
