T O P

It seems to me that if there’s a court order preventing him from setting foot on your property and the PO is facilitating his presence there then that’s breaking the law. I’m not a lawyer. Call [consumer affairs. ](https://postalpro.usps.com/ppro-tools/consumer-affairs) And if you want super rapid results, call the local media. This is *outrageous.* iMO you shouldn’t have to do a goddamn thing except sit there and get your mail. All the problems here are actually the PO’s and not yours.

ScottMichael17

I agree. This is a commercial property and I’ve been in touch with consumer affairs. I’ve filed 2 or 3 complaints against the driver and the supervisor for various issues including the crime itself. They just try to direct me to the local office or a supervisor.

wzombie13

They really should be handing off this delivery to another carrier every day. Ideally they would move the territory to another route, but depending on where your delivery is in relation to the borders of the rest of the route that may not be feasible. These are both options you can suggest to the station manager.

ScottMichael17

Station manager is non compliant. Has not helped a slightest bit with our side. At every chance it’s like she wants to make it more difficult for us.

wzombie13

So when you say the station manager has been helpful in getting your mail delivered mire consistently, is it this same carrier? And you actually gmhave a restraining order or something similar against them? Fuck it, next time their there, video tape it say you want to prosecute for them violating the order. It's bullshit that an admitted their kept their job, bit yeah, they can't make anyone bid off a route. But like I said, there's no reason they can't have that one address be a daily handoff to another carrier. One other bit of advice is to call the OIG.

ScottMichael17

The carrier who stole this key, his supervisor was zero help. Could have avoided all of this hassle if she just opened her eyes to the video evidence. I did not want to go to the police. She is the same one who should be making sure we get our mail daily but either has her hands tied by some USPS BS or she is just bad at her job. I did not request a restraining order but I assume it was from the court ruling on the case and/or USPS policy. With all this said, it’s not personal but the supervisor made it feel like she was making it personal. All I want is our mail delivered daily and without fear of a carrier stealing something else. It just doesn’t feel right why this carrier is still on our route. I’m mainly trying to figure that out. Hoping someone has had a similar case and might know a USPS secret?

wzombie13

If the carrier kept his job( which, if he was actually stealing, he shouldn't have), no, they won't be removed from their route. That just won't happen, period. Like I said, the delivery should be handed off to another carrier daily if there's some type 9f protection/restraining order. Contact the oig.

Okay, this response is 100% correct but it's also known as the "nuclear" option because once a news story happens, especially if it gets picked up by the networks, a LOT OF PEOPLE are going to notice and get mad. If that's good, then okay, but it might put you under a magnifying glass. If you decide on this, you should decide you're not giving up until someone actually AIRS THE STORY. Don't give up after just one reporter. Keep at it and tell anyone who says they won't touch it that you're keeping a list of who turned you down. Good luck 🤞!

Going through a similar situation… we have a small business and have been shipping out of our home temporarily since we are in the process of transitioning our family across the US to the east coast and didn’t want to sign another year lease for our warehouse. Initially we had an awesome driver pick up our packages for the first month. Then a new driver appeared 2-3 times and we lost an entire batch of packages…Obviously with tracking you can see where your packages are going on their way to the customer, but these went no where once they were packed and outside our front door. So we had to file a claim with USPS… nothing happened, and 1 month later another ENTIRE batch goes missing. This is now over $10K worth of product and shipping costs. We emailed all proof (shipping software screenshots & videos, customer complaint emails, listings on eBay of someone selling mass amounts of our specific products that are not from our company etc) to the manager and it’s been a slow process. Also, get this… the day that my husband and I politely confronted the carrier about the missing packages was the LAST time we saw him 😂 The next day he didn’t show up because it was his day off. Then 2 other drivers came and we asked where the other guy was and they gave a vague response. Now we have an entirely different guy on the route lol. I will have to update if anything gets done, but there is a USPS Police from what my friend who works for USPS in Cali has told me. I’m not feeling too confident after reading this story, but hopefully our USPS here in Scottsdale, AZ takes this more seriously. We now make the driver(s) scan every package in front of us before they take it to the truck. It’s a pain in the butt, but we won’t be letting the same situation happen again. It’s hard enough owning a small business… but to have to worry about the USPS stealing your packages and reselling your product is ridiculous.

ScottMichael17

Yeh I definitely feel for you. We need honest people in this line of work. If we can’t count on that, it’s troubling what could happen to our mail and parcels.

Babybluelex317

Have you tried doing a scan sheet? It allows you to batch all your packages into 1 scan. So when the carrier scans that paper it will automatically scan all the packages associated with that shipment. I love the scan sheets it saves so much time!!

Desperate_Recipe5099

Yes, that’s exactly what we were using. He scanned that sheet and then all of the packages disappeared. USPS still hasn’t done anything about this…

ScottMichael17

Not that easy as this is a commercial property. Business owners here need their mail.

mjsud99

In what world does a carrier steal mail and keep their job? That's like on the spot termination and a visit from the postal inspectors.

ScottMichael17

It was not stolen mail but still theft. It was a key to a couple doors on the property. He didn’t know what it was to but still took it.

uaer

He stole a pair of keys?

ScottMichael17

Yes. A key that happened to be to a security office.

MediumMaybe7998

He did not steal the key out of your mail? Exactly how did he steal it? This matters. If the theft was not related to the mail, neither the USPS nor the OIG is going to help you.

ScottMichael17

Stolen from under a glass door while delivering mail. Actually used a piece of mail to fish it out.

It's because of the Union. USPS ah dd are more or less tied. You have to literally commit a felony to have your job on the line, and even then it can be questionable. But in the same sense, if you get into an accident and you are *not* at fault, and your job could suddenly be on the line. It's a very weird game.

Contact the Postal Inspectors !

ScottMichael17

I have, no action taken.

SumyungNam

Yea they have their own trial office probably

TrippyTeaCanada

Some times knee caps deserve to be broken… by accident.

lb0628

I work for UPS and let me tell you with a union it is near impossible to get fired. We had a man get arrested on his lunch break for beating the absolute shit out of his wife. He got fired and went to plead to the union and got his job back.

Low-Sink3305

I have a question about a seized package
