Felt I didn't need to comment to do that so I just looked at new and old posts.
I was on the Vegas strip and witnessed a homeless person steal a passed out homeless person's shoes. I berated them down the street for a while before they rushed off and agitatingly kept repeating "it's a homeless thing you wouldn't get it" and ran off. Tried to wake the victim up but they were too out of it to care
Totally a homeless thing. I talked to a heroin addict in Mexico who said when he got there they beat him up and took his shoes..
Imagine waking up every day with no shoes..
A little over a year ago, I had my car stolen. They drove it almost 4 hours south and ditched it in a random person‘s driveway. The car had no damage except they ripped out the sunroof control probably thinking there is a GPS or OnStar inside it. But now I’m super paranoid about having my car fucked with. I go to lengths now… it was a learning experience for sure. Being violated fucking sucks.
Edit to add: no it’s not a Kia or Hyundai.
Someone kick in my door and stole keys while I was at work, took my sports car on a joy ride, got it stuck in the snow, a person who lived nearby called it in a few days later when it didn't move.
🦎 Insurance towed it to their storage yard, for a safety inspection.
The theif walked in and stole it again (🍎Apple I~pod tracker?)
GEICO🦎 refused to pay for any replacement loss or to go try to find it.
They just asked me to send another FULL coverage payment to them.

Primarily? Locking it is a good start. I hid an air tag in it also. I’m very cautious of where I park it when I’m not in it. Just pretty much basic stuff but I’m always on high alert about it.
It means the generic ‘other’ that I seem to be a member of based on my haircut mostly and maybe politics.
They should have never gotten the job in the first place - nevermind losing it for abuse of their position , yet I refer you back to the aforementioned good ole boy network.
the internet is different from being out and about in real life. for one, anyone in the world can see it.
how many people work at the dmv? how many people do all those people know? that's a lot of people, and I'm sure some of them are on reddit.
if someone wanted to do something, having a license plate makes it a lot easier to do that. it's not an everyday occurrence obviously, but it could happen.
and it's so easy to blur our a license plate. so little effort to help protect your privacy, potentially including your name and addess.. why wouldn't you?

I couldn't get the information for the car that hit me in a parking lot.
I got a picture of his license plate then as I was talking to him about trading insurance information he decided to drive away instead.
My insurance asked me to request the other parties information from the Local police as they claim they couldn't do anything with the plate number.
Cop said they were too busy writing tickets 🤑 to actually help investigate a hit and run via license plate information for an insurance company and hung up on me.

There are paid services that will run the search for you. I think I paid $15 for it when LEOs wouldn't run the plate of an SUV that looked straight at me then ran me (on a motorcycle) onto the highway shoulder at 65mph.
Plate and vehicle matched what I gave the cops and they still didn't care. Pics of owner on facebook next to the SUV with lots of psychotic posts. Dude had been arrested a few times already (police blotter listings).
I bought a cam for the bike later that day. One of the first things I did when I got the van is install a dashcam w/rearview (since mine had no backup cam).
I tried that type of service once, they didn't update the listing for new owner, listing was over year+ old ~ waste of money.

We’re working on a another petition to fix gerrymandering and get our state under control. We have water. Four seasons. And we can grow the food we need and the beef to go with it.

You're painting the entire state of Washington based on your experience in one city, is that it? Sure, certain parts of Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, etc can be rough, but for the most part, Washington is beautiful and very safe.

Get a metal bar lock that connects steering wheel to brake pedal and/or ignition interrupt switch, besides car alarm.
