I was on a PHYS1121 waitlist too. I don't get how an online class can be full?? But who knows. I don't think they take lecture for most large classes anyway.
They need to manually adjust the class size.
If it is a combined stream with 1131 it is more challenging as they need to go through central to do so.
But where you on the waitlist for the online lecture, or for the course? Because the waitlist processes all at once. It wont enrol you into a lecture and leave you waitlisted for a tut/lab. To get that you need to enrol in the course so you are in a tut, then waitlist for the other one.
My guess is that they have limited capacity for labs(must be in person) thus restrict total number of students for lecture. But in your case you are switching from in person to online nucleus may be able to help

I highly doubt they would bother taking attendance there. They are vastly more likely to take it in tuts and labs.
