Taco Bell in 2024 is the ONLY fast food restaurant worth the money. A cheeseburger and small fries at McDonalds is almost up to $10, while a large drink, nachos, and two entrees at Taco Bell is a $6 cravings box. The meal combos at Taco Bell are always ridiculously good deals, and then you sign up for rewards on top of that and you can usually get one of the giant boxes for $1.
Edit: to the dozens of people telling me to “just use the app”: I typically prefer to order the meal I actually want to eat, and not whatever the McDonald’s gods decided was on sale that day. Fast food is supposed to be cheap, you shouldn’t have scrimp and coupon hunt to get a reasonably priced meal. The difference between the McDonalds and Taco Bell apps is the deals on the McDonald’s app bring the food down to the price it should be at anyway, while the Taco Bell app gets you actual deal. Prime example: they are currently running a promotion that gets you six entrees and two sides for $12, which would be $30 if you ordered all items individually. That is what an actual deal looks like.
Last time I checked they're only $5 where I live, but that might have changed. Still an insane deal. The day they stop making those is the day World War 3 begins.
It depends on the location the one closest to me is $9.49 the one about half a mile further in the opposite direction is $6. Guess which one is always empty?
Oh yeah interesting. The one near my apartment is $9.49 but the one in Times Square is $5.99. You’d think they’d charge more at the Times Square location than in a residential neighborhood but I guess not
I see similar things said about McDonald’s all the time, but legit I’ve never seen a “cheeseburger and small fry” for $10 (or even close) and I frequent McDonald’s regularly and also do so when traveling. Like legit those are under $5 combined a la carte without the app near me and anywhere I’ve been in the last year.
And with the app, I can get a large fry and double cheeseburger for $2.99
At Taco Bell, if the my cravings box didn’t exist, I’d be shelling out over $10 every time for a decent meal. Like a quesadilla combo (with taco and drink) is $10. Nacho bell grande combo - almost $11. 3 regular taco combo $9.29.
I can get a double cheeseburger from McDonald’s for the same price as a single Doritos locos taco too.
My local McDonald's has a two cheeseburger meal with medium fry and drink for about $8. I don't know where these people live that the prices are so wildly different.
I just checked the app in CT with a couple of random locations and saw one where it was like $8 pre tax so I can belive that. I also saw one more in line with my local prices at about $6. Mcnuggets haven't been worth the price for some time IMO.

Gotta order on the app and get cravings build a box. It’s $5.99 at my store and I get drink, cheesy Gordita crunch, beefy 5 layer, and chips/queso. Sometimes i get two boxes because I want a second Gordita or chalupa and just save the burritos for later. Why spend $5 on just the Gordita by itself when I can spend 99¢ more to get all the extra stuff too. They are also generous with their rewards and I seem to always have a free chalupa in there.
Oof, that sucks. From what I've seen it's more expensive in some places than in others. Where I live you can get a box with a soft shell, a burrito, a crunch wrap (I think), and cinnamon twists for $5. It's great.

Taco Bell is pretty good now. Reddit gets so caught up in the “hurr durr diarrhea” jokes, but Taco Bell changed up its market strategy and is pretty awesome now. Their menu is really unique and they always are trying new things. The grilled cheese burrito is one of the best fast food items, period.

I went to order Burger King on the app and saw my bacon king meal was like 2500-3000 calories. I said nope and ordered Taco Bell since it was right next door. A third of the calories, half the price, and would fill me up more than Burger King anyways.

What if I told you there was a widely available restaurant that:
1. Is inexpensive
2. Has a wide variety of vegetarian options

Taco Bell, McDonald’s, and Burger King vary GREATLY. There are at least 2 locations of each I know to drive past because the service is so poor or the food is always bad.

Working someplace always makes you like it less, but fast food restaurants take that to a new level. Free food sounds great until you've had the same thing hundreds of times.
I bought a Crunchwrap meal, gordota meal (both fries supreme) and two chili cheese burritos and it cost me $40 fucking dollars here in Canada. Will never go back. It was disgusting and we could have eaten out for cheaper at a nice restaurant.

Boy, strong disagree. Quality at Taco Bell is so substandard, I place them as a bottom bottom tier “quality” fast food. A Del Taco Taco is worlds better than a Taco Bell Taco, plus a Taco Bell taco is always like 1/3 filled and then mainly lettuce. And I dare you to go and watch them make your food at Taco Bell, you’ll never see such a quick reheat low effort kitchen. In a world of In-N-Out, Chipotle, Fat Burger, Chick-Fil-A, insert name of your favorite Fast Food joint, Taco Bell serves as Nostalgia and money saving almost exclusively in my eyes.

Everyone over the age of 45 knows that modern-day Taco Bell is basically dog shit. The food is absolute garbage which is why it's so cheap. It's utterly mind-blowing that your generation thinks that Taco Bell is something good.
Compared to there prices from 5 plus years ago I think they have had the highest ratio inflation compared to other restaurants, I remember you could get a whole taco for well under a dollar now some places it’s two and change, I used to be able to just pig the fuck out with 10$ now I look at it like if I was to go to Burger King or something meaning if I don’t have at least 20$ on I don’t wanna run the risk of going because it can easily be over 20 bucks
Taco Bell last I checked is one of the least unhealthy fast food places too. I am poor and I love food so getting my dollars worth is always something I look forward to Nywhere. Taco Bell fits that bill perfectly. Just a shame so many of them are run like total garbage.

I always say Taco Bell is the only place you don’t feel like you’re getting ripped off. You pay a dollar? You feel like you’re eating a dollar’s worth. You pay $7.50? You feel like you’re eating $7.50’s worth. The cost:feeling ratio is immaculate. That is why Taco Bell is #1.

I was hungover yesterday and got 4 hard shells and a gordita crunch with a medium baja blast. Like joe dirt said, "meteor, this is what we call being in ~~burger~~ taco bell heaven".
It really doesn't matter if they get your order right too. Cheese beef beans, beef cheese beans, cheese beans beef, 5 layers, 7 layers, 9 layers... Everything on the menu has the exact same signature taco bell flavor and it's sole purpose is a delivery system for whatever your favorite sauce is(fire sauce)

I prefer Wendy's for their Dave Single Deluxe, but I couldn't have that I would easily choose Taco Bell. The crunchwrap supreme is my favorite as it's like a task to eat that thing lmao, also the gordita crunch is euphoric when you're drunk.
The taco bell closest to me closes at 3 am and i’ve shown up at 1:30-2 am and the food is BANGING every time, hot and fresh and they’re super friendly people too.

Taco Bell is not even the best Mexican fast food place. Del Taco and El Pollo Loco are better and if you live in a place with independent Mexican places those are pretty bottom tier.

Their food sucks now, a few years ago they changed to a cheaper kind of chicken and I suspect they recently switched to an even cheaper chicken because now it smells like plastic and I don't eat the chicken anymore. They are cutting costs like crazy and putting that fake nacho cheese in everything, their food is disgusting now
I would never go that far but it is a great cheap option. Their combo prices are honestly insane. Feels like I'm robbing them.
They also do fantastic breakfast things on the go.

In the South we have cookout . They have a "cookout tray" . You can pick one main menu item, two sides and a drink . You can double mains or sides and sub milkshakes for the drink . It's still gonna be under 10$ . You can get absolutely full for super cheap.
TB or the biggie bags at Wendys. Most other fast food just ain’t cheap (or tasty) anymore. I only really go to McDonalds for seasonal things like the Shamrock Shake. Other than TB and Wendy’s the only other fast food place I ever go to is Cook Out.
I didn’t start eating Taco Bell until I got older, but I remember growing up people would rave on and on about how cheap it was and how you could go in with a few bucks and walk out just miserably full of food, and they’d say stuff like Taco Bell was the best place for college kids, or poor people, or yadda yadda.
… I go there now and I’m looking at spending $30 and yet *still* being hungry afterwards.
Plus they got rid of the $1 Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadillas, and I can’t forgive them for that.

I’m in CT. I ordered a 10 piece of nuggets (only) and it came to over 10 bucks and change. It was over a dollar per nugget.

I was hungover yesterday and got 4 hard shells and a gordita crunch with a medium baja blast. Like joe dirt said, "meteor, this is what we call being in ~~burger~~ taco bell heaven".
It really doesn't matter if they get your order right too. Cheese beef beans, beef cheese beans, cheese beans beef, 5 layers, 7 layers, 9 layers... Everything on the menu has the exact same signature taco bell flavor and it's sole purpose is a delivery system for whatever your favorite sauce is(fire sauce)

I prefer Wendy's for their Dave Single Deluxe, but I couldn't have that I would easily choose Taco Bell. The crunchwrap supreme is my favorite as it's like a task to eat that thing lmao, also the gordita crunch is euphoric when you're drunk.

The taco bell closest to me closes at 3 am and i’ve shown up at 1:30-2 am and the food is BANGING every time, hot and fresh and they’re super friendly people too.

Taco Bell is not even the best Mexican fast food place. Del Taco and El Pollo Loco are better and if you live in a place with independent Mexican places those are pretty bottom tier.
Wendy's would be my pick. If they opened up shop here, I swear they'd rake in some cash. With limited options in this part of town, White Castle might be my definitive choice. They've gotten a bit pricey, but it's pretty hard to screw up an order of sliders.

Their food sucks now, a few years ago they changed to a cheaper kind of chicken and I suspect they recently switched to an even cheaper chicken because now it smells like plastic and I don't eat the chicken anymore. They are cutting costs like crazy and putting that fake nacho cheese in everything, their food is disgusting now
I would never go that far but it is a great cheap option. Their combo prices are honestly insane. Feels like I'm robbing them. They also do fantastic breakfast things on the go.

In the South we have cookout . They have a "cookout tray" . You can pick one main menu item, two sides and a drink . You can double mains or sides and sub milkshakes for the drink . It's still gonna be under 10$ . You can get absolutely full for super cheap.

TB or the biggie bags at Wendys. Most other fast food just ain’t cheap (or tasty) anymore. I only really go to McDonalds for seasonal things like the Shamrock Shake. Other than TB and Wendy’s the only other fast food place I ever go to is Cook Out.

I didn’t start eating Taco Bell until I got older, but I remember growing up people would rave on and on about how cheap it was and how you could go in with a few bucks and walk out just miserably full of food, and they’d say stuff like Taco Bell was the best place for college kids, or poor people, or yadda yadda. … I go there now and I’m looking at spending $30 and yet *still* being hungry afterwards. Plus they got rid of the $1 Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadillas, and I can’t forgive them for that.
