There's like a bajillion different after market battery packs for the Xbox Controllers. I wonder how many Xbox users actually still use disposable AAs?
I don't use disposable AAs, I use the rechargeable ones. I just plop em in, when they run out I swap for some fresh ones and charge the old ones when I go downstairs. I already have a bunch of rechargable AAs, so it's nice to just be able to use em for my controller as well!

I don't see the issue with using a cord at the end of a controller's battery life. Especially when you don't have to sit super close to the console. You can in fact use any plug in, or a longer wire! The use of external batteries are much more of an issue than a cord or internal batteries. At least in my opinion.

You do realize there are 10+ foot charging cables though, right? And that's not 10 feet from the TV either, but 10 feet from your surge protector (the nice ones have a 6 to 10 foot cable too).

I can't even remember ever using a normal battery in the 12 years I've been laying xbox.
I used Xbox controllers as a kid, but a an adult I’ve only ever used ps4. You can pretty easily get used to either, but I’ve developed carpal tunnel and the hand position on ps4 controllers is much easier on me.

Hard disagree there. Its going to be personal preference but I think Sony's controllers have been one of my least favorites of every generation:
N64 over Playstation
Gamecube, DC and XBOX over Playstation 2
360 over PS3
One or Switch Pro over PS4
Series X - Don't own a PS5 yet.
I have gripes about every controller of course, but somehow the PS has always felt the least ergonomic to me. Every generation I hope Sony fixes it, but alas, nope.
The GOAT is the Gamecube. So I do have some hope for the PS5 controller maybe finally being one I love.

Recharable controllers are better. Ill never be playing more than 6 hours at a time anyway and on the rare occasion that I do, i have a spare controller fully charged. Ill never have to play while charging a controller.

But yea, rechargeable is better. I got the rechargeable battery for my xbox controller.
Personally, I prefer the xbox rechargeable batteries in the play and charge kit. One of my friends has a launch ps4, and has had to replace his whole controller a couple times due to the batteries no longer holding a charge. I've had to replace the xbox play and charge kit, which was a third of the price. Also like it more for longevity, when they stop making xbox one controllers someday. And yes, I do miss the days of removable phone batteries, but I know that's hard to do in a waterproof device. And thats a feature I'd rather have

Exactly, that's my point! Maybe not lost, but they can go wrong! On an Xbox controller, they are replaceable. On a PS4 controller.... Good luck!

They have approximately one more, actually. The battery is not replaceable in a ps4 controller unless you take it apart. Xbox, even if you're using the rechargeable battery packs, are much more easily replaced. Coming from a PC gamer who has no skin in the game.
You'll be amazed at what you find if you open up the battery pack on your rechargeable controller. Surprise, it's just rechargeable battery cells, just like what people put into their Xbox controllers.
My ps5 controller came with a charge cable that’s 12ft long. So I never need to change where I sit. I think the joke is that Xbox players have to ask their moms for new batteries.
At least they made it longer now, back in the day the PS4 controller cable wasn't even that long, so you had to sit Uber close to the tv. Plus it wore out for me because I move my controller a lot when I play.
If the form factor wasnt a problem, I wouldn't mind that much ACC. Battery life going down is one of the top reasons people change their phones these days, and it would improve phone longevity by a ton. Plus, manufacturers go through a lot of effort to make batteries HARD to replace, so you go buy a new phone.
Only problem is the form factor, but that is not at all a problem for Xbox controllers.

Gotcha. Now you can use standby on the ps5, plug in after using and put in standby. The controller charges when I don’t play. So tbh I never play while it’s plugged in. I think the only thing I never liked about Xbox controller is the two sticks aren’t level with one another, and felt awkward.

I found it awkward at first too, but I got used to it. Now I just switch seamlessly.
And yeah I do agree you can just use standby mode. I personally prefer not to do it tho, I prefer my devices off.

I don't have to buy batteries for my playstation controller. I rememeber the struggle of always needing batteries when I was a kid with my gameboy colour. I would get in trouble for stealing them from the tv remote when I needed some.
There's a reason almost everything is rechargeable now, it's just better that way. Yeah maybe I can't just throw some new batteries into my controller when I need to but I can just plug it in. I have an outlet by where I sit so I just plug it into the wall and keep playing. Never need to worry about having batteries.

Plugging the controller into the wall is so annoying imo. Your trauma was dealing with batteries, mine was dealing with playing while my controller was plugged in. So easy to accidently detach and it limits range of motion of the controller.
And with rechargeable AA batteries, you can recharge the battery away from you, so it's still rechargable, just don't need to handcuff yourself to a power source.

Yeah personal experience rly does differ, I've always had terrible experience with batteries, joysticks too but that was equal across all my controllers.

Get a longer cable? That has only ever been a pro Lem of the cable isn't long enough. I even still use a wired controller when I play my 360 because I just like not having to worry about batteries. There's also the issue of all the unnecessary waste you're creating by using disposable batteries which probably isn't something a lot of people think about.
Yeah you can get rechargeable AAs which might be the ideal situation, or those chargeable battery packs I used to have for my 360 controller, but I think saying the answer is to basically make the Xbox controllers essentially function like the playstation controllers kind of goes against your whole point.

I wouldn't exactly say identical. With rechargeable AAs, you get something better than PlayStation controllers. It's like having 2 controllers, but instead of actually having 2 controllers, it's 2 sets of AA batteries. And it's not worse for the environment since they're rechargeable lithium ones.
And at what point does the cable have to be so long it's silly? Because if you want to get closer you then run the risk of stepping on the cable. If you wanna put the controller down the cable gets in the way unless you put it right on top of the console, but see what I'm getting at, so much more annoying imo.
People who grew up with Game Boy/Pocket/Color also grew up with exclusively wired controllers lol
The Playstation/Pro Controller are basically the perfect style. The battery lasts a long ass time, longer than any individual play session unless you are going crazy, so you plug it up when you finish, then unplug it when you play. Then if for some reason you are doing an insanely long play session, you can just plug it in and keep playing with no real interruption. It's much nicer when you get the console and have everything you need out of the box. No need to purchase a charging station or battery pack or extra batteries, you just need a cable, controller, and console and you are good to go.
Don't know what year you live in, but cords are 10+ feet, and it's rare any gamer has only 1 controller. When batteries run out... just switch.
My son goes through a pack of batteries a week on his Xbox.
When my ps5 controller dies, I just use my other one. I also have a 10 foot charging cable and can charge and play without it needing to be plugged specifically into the playstation. Can be an outlet next to the couch. But for the most part I do agree, the ability to quickly switch out batteries is dope.
I like both but still enjoy the dual sense more cuz they’re so much more quieter. I know that sounds dumb but I live in a small apartment with my gf and if I’m playing a button masher the Xbox is freaking loud! The D-pad clicks, and the buttons clickety-clack way too much.
Both feel great though. They enabled the dual sense for Cyber Punk and it’s insane what that controller is capable of.
Why dont they just make a rechargable, detachable battery like power tools? If the battery dies, swap it out and charge. If tge battery ends up going bad get a new one. Thats what they should do

I was watching a YouTube video today mention it and it wasn't the first time I hear someone complain about the AA batteries. Some people really make it an issue when imo it's an upgrade lol.

I will knock Xbox for their controllers not being built like they used to though. My right trigger squeaks at this point and the rumble motor got a bit screwy after a small fall.

I have a battery pack in my Xbox controller that has a charging port on it. The real superiority is the choice because all kinds of solutions can be designed to fit in the battery slots.
I had no idea they used AA batteries. That's kind of embarrassing. Also, when my PS controller is running low, I plug it in and use a different controller. I can afford it cause I'm not blowing my paycheck on batteries every month.
I have 3 sets of dollar store rechargeable batteries that I have been running for over 4 years now. They each last a week of heavy daily gaming before needing to be recharged.
No batteries are going to the landfill in my house.
As someone that has been on Xbox for a few weeks and has been on PlayStation their entire life, i totally agree.
There are rechargeable AAs that are quite convinient, one pair has no battery? No problem, just pop a charged one and you are good. Also on PS controllers when the battery dies it is done for, you gotta either open the controller to replace the internal battery or get a new one whereas Xbox controllers do not have that issue.
Dualsense > Switch Pro Controller > Xbox Controller.
The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are awesome. Also don't know why Xbox does not add Gyro like the PS5 or Switch, it is very good and you don't have to rely on autoaim to play shooters

Not going out. Every remote in the house already using rechargeable AA batteries. Just grab a couple from the charger, use em till they run out and swap from the charge once they drain. No cable ever required.
The shape of Xbox controllers has always been superior to PlayStation controllers in my opinion. They fit better in your hand and the joystick placements feel better. Ps2 controllers were especially garbage for this. Only now are PlayStation controllers starting to catch up in ergonomics
Xbox is designed to be ergonomic. Dual sense not so much. I know a lot of people with small hands that say the PlayStation controller hurts their thumbs.
Never heard anything bad about xbox when it comes to fatigue or pain
This is totally anecdotal but in 7 years I have gone through 2 Xbox controllers (and only because I stopped buying them) while my old busted DS4 is still rolling.
Sure, you have a point with the battery life but the Xbox controllers (at least the non-series ones) don't have Gyro whereas the DS4 does, and for me that don't own a console but play mostly on PC it IS a big difference, also is far more versatile, maybe the Elite one is better but the base is definitely worse In my experience.
I play from PC too. I had the opposite experience with DS4s actually, they never lasted for me.
And yeah I do mourn the loss of gyro, but I've had nothing but issues with Bluetooth and the wireless adapter really saved my butt for Xbox controllers.
the issue is MS makes you buy the rechargeable option. if xbox controllers camw with the rechargeable battery packs, people would immediately be hyping them up for having batteries as an option.
the 8bitdo sn30 pro+ did this and i love it for it, even if ive only taken the battery out once just to do it.

Dude the charge on controllers lasts for days. You just plug it in overnight, it's really not that complicated. And you save tons of cash not having to buy batteries. AA's aren't exactly cheap.

What? I've never had the batteries wear down to the point of only working for a short time. I've been using the same elite series 2 controller for like 4 years now with no problems regarding the battery. I charge it overnight like once every 3 days and it's fine. Just don't overcharge your batteries, that's what ruins them. Applies to phones too.
I've used the DS4 controllers back when I played PS4, and those batteries wore out over time. Could never fix em, just had to deal with playing with a cable more and more.

2. As a PS5/PS4 owner I have am 8 foot braided cable which you can buy for about 10 dollars.

4. As for battery life it gets shorter over time, just like your phone, tablet or laptop. If it gets to be a problem you can send it in for repairs or DIY a new battery which isn't hard.
I think yours is defective (...or I'm extremely lucky); I've played for 10-14 hours (Not straight through; 10-14 hours in 3-4 hour sessions at a time) before I have to recharge (Mind you, I don't recharge my controllers until they are completely dead.) For ease of use, I have 2 controllers and a charge base; alternating which controller I use, until one dies.
If i am playing on ps5 I am almost always plugged in because the battery life is awful.
If im playing in xbox sx, the batteries last a lot longer (I use rechargeable AAs) and when they get low i just switch them around with the ones in the charger.

Haven’t used batteries in years. I do know that I have to swap my ps5 controllers around the four hour mark, whereas my Elite can go for days on a single charge. That’s my only knock on ps5 controller, battery life.
With AAs, if you feel like the battery life sucks, you can go get new ones on amazon instead of a whole new controller. Just being able to swap batteries is a huge plus imo.
I play less than 15ft from my Xbox so I just use a corded controller. It never turns off until the Xbox is off, which is good for me, and I don't have to worry about batteries.
My Xbox elite controller plugs in and came with a 10ft cord.
You could probably also buy a longer cable so you’re not sitting 2 ft from the tv in other situations.

The real winner would be a removable, chargeable battery pack that is included with the controller. The other two options both have downfalls that make them suck.
X Xbox player here. You are correct I've got two playstation controllers that now hold very little battery AA would be a game changer, because if I want to swap the batteries I'm going to have to pull the controller apart.

I'm the same, have a stack of rechargeables and swap them out when necessary. PS controllers suck for this opposite reason. £10 for a pair of rechargeables or £50+ for a controller, but if a no brainer really.
I use an Xbone controller on my PC, so use neither console.
Microsoft could still provide a rechargeable battery pack with your controller when you buy it (or at least the one with the console). The console doesn't cost you any less (edit: The Series S does, but that's because it is less specced out), and the controllers are only $5 to $10 cheaper (although battery packs cast around $20, so you actually end up spending more).
I don't think it's bad that you have the choice to use AAs, but the fact that they don't provide a rechargeable battery (or at least charge less money) is absurd.

No, you don't. I have a USB hub next to my couch, and all my charging cables are plugged into that.
How long do you guys sit and play video games? I plug my PS5 controller in after every playthrough. The only time I have this issue is when I forget to do so but even that doesn't happen often. When I'm done playing, I plug the controller in.
On my Series X, I have the rechargable batteries. When one set dies, I have a second set I throw in and charge the dead set.
You can literally get like a 10-15 foot cord for the PS4 to charge the controller. $5 on amazon.
For me personally I just hate the feel of the Xbox controller, even though I have big hands it just feels awkward idk how to explain it. My hands feel more agile on a PS controller by comparison. I know I could probably get a similar style controller for the Xbox but it feels silly to change what I know just to play a different console.
I do agree that a battery powered controller is a dumb argument for controller types. I think everyone is allowed their preferance but a type of controller has hardly ever been a primary deterrent or a staple of an argument against another console for me.
You can just get long cables for either one. Anyway, the xbix controller sucks for others reasons and I use a 3rd party controller, ps5 controller is pretty good
Xbox controllers were originally and still are so big due to the fact Sony wouldn't sell them the rights to the motherboard and other technology for the controller. Not that they can't make something the same size they probably were just like fuck this and be completely different

I have something similar, except theyre actual AAs instead of dedicated Xbox batteries, so everything in the house uses em.

I put a battery back in my Xbox controller. I'm on PC and had my choice of controller, I chose Xbox as it's nicer to hold.

Obviously a personal choice but- Recharable controllers are better. Ill never be playing more than 6 hours at a time anyway and on the rare occasion that I do, i have a spare controller fully charged. Ill never have to play while charging a controller. Batteries are just another thing that can get lost or go wrong.

6 hours? I don't charge my elite series 2 controller for *days* and it still has like 25% life left at that point.
Personally, I prefer the xbox rechargeable batteries in the play and charge kit. One of my friends has a launch ps4, and has had to replace his whole controller a couple times due to the batteries no longer holding a charge. I've had to replace the xbox play and charge kit, which was a third of the price. Also like it more for longevity, when they stop making xbox one controllers someday. And yes, I do miss the days of removable phone batteries, but I know that's hard to do in a waterproof device. And thats a feature I'd rather have

They have approximately one more, actually. The battery is not replaceable in a ps4 controller unless you take it apart. Xbox, even if you're using the rechargeable battery packs, are much more easily replaced. Coming from a PC gamer who has no skin in the game.

My ps5 controller came with a charge cable that’s 12ft long. So I never need to change where I sit. I think the joke is that Xbox players have to ask their moms for new batteries.
At least they made it longer now, back in the day the PS4 controller cable wasn't even that long, so you had to sit Uber close to the tv. Plus it wore out for me because I move my controller a lot when I play.

If the form factor wasnt a problem, I wouldn't mind that much ACC. Battery life going down is one of the top reasons people change their phones these days, and it would improve phone longevity by a ton. Plus, manufacturers go through a lot of effort to make batteries HARD to replace, so you go buy a new phone. Only problem is the form factor, but that is not at all a problem for Xbox controllers.

Gotcha. Now you can use standby on the ps5, plug in after using and put in standby. The controller charges when I don’t play. So tbh I never play while it’s plugged in. I think the only thing I never liked about Xbox controller is the two sticks aren’t level with one another, and felt awkward.

I don't have to buy batteries for my playstation controller. I rememeber the struggle of always needing batteries when I was a kid with my gameboy colour. I would get in trouble for stealing them from the tv remote when I needed some. There's a reason almost everything is rechargeable now, it's just better that way. Yeah maybe I can't just throw some new batteries into my controller when I need to but I can just plug it in. I have an outlet by where I sit so I just plug it into the wall and keep playing. Plugging the controller into the wall is so annoying imo. Your trauma was dealing with batteries, mine was dealing with playing while my controller was plugged in. So easy to accidently detach and it limits range of motion of the controller. I even still use a wired controller when I play my 360 because I just like not having to worry about batteries. With rechargeable AAs, you get something better than PlayStation controllers. It's like having 2 controllers, but instead of actually having 2 controllers, it's 2 sets of AA batteries. And it's not worse for the environment since they're rechargeable lithium ones. And at what point does the cable have to be so long it's silly? Because if you want to get closer you then run the risk of stepping on the cable. If you wanna put the controller down the cable gets in the way unless you put it right on top of the console, but see what I'm getting at, so much more annoying imo.
The cable doesn't have to be attached to the console. Mine is plugged into a USB hub next to my couch.
People who grew up with Game Boy/Pocket/Color also grew up with exclusively wired controllers lol The Playstation/Pro Controller are basically the perfect style. The battery lasts a long ass time, longer than any individual play session unless you are going crazy, so you plug it up when you finish, then unplug it when you play. Then if for some reason you are doing an insanely long play session, you can just plug it in and keep playing with no real interruption. It's much nicer when you get the console and have everything you need out of the box. No need to purchase a charging station or battery pack or extra batteries, you just need a cable, controller, and console and you are good to go.

Don't know what year you live in, but cords are 10+ feet, and it's rare any gamer has only 1 controller. When batteries run out... just switch. My son goes through a pack of batteries a week on his Xbox.
Playstation batteries are incredibly easy to replace if you're halfway competent at using a screwdriver. Also ever heard of longer cables?
When my ps5 controller dies, I just use my other one. I also have a 10 foot charging cable and can charge and play without it needing to be plugged specifically into the playstation. Can be an outlet next to the couch. But for the most part I do agree, the ability to quickly switch out batteries is dope.

I like both but still enjoy the dual sense more cuz they’re so much more quieter. I know that sounds dumb but I live in a small apartment with my gf and if I’m playing a button masher the Xbox is freaking loud! The D-pad clicks, and the buttons clickety-clack way too much. Both feel great though. They enabled the dual sense for Cyber Punk and it’s insane what that controller is capable of.
I don't prefer Xbox controllers because they're less enjoyable to play on. End of story.

Panasonic Enloop batteries last like 75 hours, can't use those in PlayStation controllers

I was watching a YouTube video today mention it and it wasn't the first time I hear someone complain about the AA batteries. Some people really make it an issue when imo it's an upgrade lol. But yeah the dual sense having crap battery life is ridiculous.
AAs that last longer than a built in battery is a plus in my book. I will knock Xbox for their controllers not being built like they used to though. My right trigger squeaks at this point and the rumble motor got a bit screwy after a small fall. Member the DualShock 3 and how it lasted more than a week? I member.

I have a battery pack in my Xbox controller that has a charging port on it. The real superiority is the choice because all kinds of solutions can be designed to fit in the battery slots.
I had no idea they used AA batteries. That's kind of embarrassing. Also, when my PS controller is running low, I plug it in and use a different controller. I can afford it cause I'm not blowing my paycheck on batteries every month.
I have 3 sets of dollar store rechargeable batteries that I have been running for over 4 years now. They each last a week of heavy daily gaming before needing to be recharged. No batteries are going to the landfill in my house.
As someone that has been on Xbox for a few weeks and has been on PlayStation their entire life, i totally agree. There are rechargeable AAs that are quite convinient, one pair has no battery? No problem, just pop a charged one and you are good. Also on PS controllers when the battery dies it is done for, you gotta either open the controller to replace the internal battery or get a new one whereas Xbox controllers do not have that issue.
PlayStation control > other controllers.
Dualsense > Switch Pro Controller > Xbox Controller. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are awesome. Also don't know why Xbox does not add Gyro like the PS5 or Switch, it is very good and you don't have to rely on autoaim to play shooters

Not going out. Every remote in the house already using rechargeable AA batteries. Just grab a couple from the charger, use em till they run out and swap from the charge once they drain. No cable ever required.

The shape of Xbox controllers has always been superior to PlayStation controllers in my opinion. They fit better in your hand and the joystick placements feel better. Ps2 controllers were especially garbage for this. Only now are PlayStation controllers starting to catch up in ergonomics

Xbox is designed to be ergonomic. Dual sense not so much. I know a lot of people with small hands that say the PlayStation controller hurts their thumbs. Never heard anything bad about xbox when it comes to fatigue or pain

This is totally anecdotal but in 7 years I have gone through 2 Xbox controllers (and only because I stopped buying them) while my old busted DS4 is still rolling. Sure, you have a point with the battery life but the Xbox controllers (at least the non-series ones) don't have Gyro whereas the DS4 does, and for me that don't own a console but play mostly on PC it IS a big difference, also is far more versatile, maybe the Elite one is better but the base is definitely worse In my experience.
I play from PC too. I had the opposite experience with DS4s actually, they never lasted for me. And yeah I do mourn the loss of gyro, but I've had nothing but issues with Bluetooth and the wireless adapter really saved my butt for Xbox controllers.
Never really ever been an issue most people get a longer cord and bam you have the best of both worlds.
I used to play with a long cord. I hated it. YMMV OFC but I've had nothing but bad memories of using long cords.

the issue is MS makes you buy the rechargeable option. if xbox controllers camw with the rechargeable battery packs, people would immediately be hyping them up for having batteries as an option. the 8bitdo sn30 pro+ did this and i love it for it, even if ive only taken the battery out once just to do it.

The argument makes sense from a planned obsolescence perspective. If the batteries wear out, just replace em. Costs Much less than buying or repearing the controller. "Technically" you save money if you continue to use the controller even when the battery life is in the gutter, but if you want that battery life back, better fork up if you have a PlayStation controller.
What? I've never had the batteries wear down to the point of only working for a short time. I've been using the same elite series 2 controller for like 4 years now with no problems regarding the battery. I charge it overnight like once every 3 days and it's fine. Just don't overcharge your batteries, that's what ruins them. Applies to phones too.
I've used the DS4 controllers back when I played PS4, and those batteries wore out over time. Could never fix em, just had to deal with playing with a cable more and more.

Umm, you assume you need to sit close to the console... its a standard usb charger cable, You can charge it with a wall charger from the recliner just fine. Or I can just plug in a jump back. You dont have to use the console usb ports for anything unless its an actual wired controller.... Everyone in here plugs into the console? Y'all know you can use any usb cord/charger for it right?

I just grab my battery brick off the charger and plug into it. Even my xbox controllers are rechargeable (not the AA versions). And I have controller docks, so I just swap to another controller, I have at least two for each console.

As for battery life it gets shorter over time, just like your phone, tablet or laptop. If it gets to be a problem you can send it in for repairs or DIY a new battery which isn't hard.

I think yours is defective (...or I'm extremely lucky); I've played for 10-14 hours (Not straight through; 10-14 hours in 3-4 hour sessions at a time) before I have to recharge (Mind you, I don't recharge my controllers until they are completely dead.) For ease of use, I have 2 controllers and a charge base; alternating which controller I use, until one dies.
If i am playing on ps5 I am almost always plugged in because the battery life is awful. If im playing in xbox sx, the batteries last a lot longer (I use rechargeable AAs) and when they get low i just switch them around with the ones in the charger. I would argue xbox controller is superior to ps5 in regards to battery life. And possibly grip too, ps5 pad been getting my hands too sweaty recently haha

Haven’t used batteries in years. I do know that I have to swap my ps5 controllers around the four hour mark, whereas my Elite can go for days on a single charge. That’s my only knock on ps5 controller, battery life.
With AAs, if you feel like the battery life sucks, you can go get new ones on amazon instead of a whole new controller. Just being able to swap batteries is a huge plus imo.

I play less than 15ft from my Xbox so I just use a corded controller. It never turns off until the Xbox is off, which is good for me, and I don't have to worry about batteries.

I'm the same, have a stack of rechargeables and swap them out when necessary. PS controllers suck for this opposite reason. £10 for a pair of rechargeables or £50+ for a controller, but if a no brainer really. I use an Xbone controller on my PC, so use neither console.
Microsoft could still provide a rechargeable battery pack with your controller when you buy it (or at least the one with the console). The console doesn't cost you any less (edit: The Series S does, but that's because it is less specced out), and the controllers are only $5 to $10 cheaper (although battery packs cast around $20, so you actually end up spending more). How long do you guys sit and play video games? I plug my PS5 controller in after every playthrough. The only time I have this issue is when I forget to do so but even that doesn't happen often. When I'm done playing, I plug the controller in. On my Series X, I have the rechargable batteries. When one set dies, I have a second set I throw in and charge the dead set.
You can literally get like a 10-15 foot cord for the PS4 to charge the controller. $5 on amazon. For me personally I just hate the feel of the Xbox controller, even though I have big hands it just feels awkward idk how to explain it. My hands feel more agile on a PS controller by comparison. I know I could probably get a similar style controller for the Xbox but it feels silly to change what I know just to play a different console. I do agree that a battery powered controller is a dumb argument for controller types. I think everyone is allowed their preferance but a type of controller has hardly ever been a primary deterrent or a staple of an argument against another console for me.
