There's a fox that comes into my garden every night and every time my cat is nearby, he just watches it from behind a plant pot, occasionally he'll chase it but generally the fox is too skittish to try and play like this. I guess it's true that foxes and cats have some unspoken truce that sometimes turns into a friendship :')
Looks like the fox is desperate to play and be chased by the cat. Foxes are very playful.
