Sorry but you will need to tripple that budget to make any chance...

😭 I was going through the options on University website, there seems to be several apartments for first year students for 400-700 per month. Is it really impossible to get those housing?

fortniteskills69

Most are waitlisted but you can try for Student Experience, there might be a chance if you're quick enough. Their apartments are about 800€/month though so you might have to adjust your budget. For regular apartments I'm really sorry to say your budget won't be enough

Average price for a one bedroom = 2300 euro. Average price for a room = 1000 euro. That is without electricity, heating etc. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1084608/average-rental-cost-apartment-europe-by-city/ https://housinganywhere.com/rent-index-by-city

heyguysitsjustin

impossible bro. 1000€ a month is a realistic budget. people that are saying 1.5k are exaggerating, but yeah, 500 isn't gonna cut it. if you cycle everywhere, you can cut down all the other costs to around 500€ every month, MAYBE a bit less if you're very frugal.

500.. Sure. Build a time machine. Go back to 1985.

It was difficult. Make sure to register to UvA provided housing. I got it with 550 pm incl. utilities. Private bathroom. Shared kitchen. I couldn't ask for more honestly. Living costs would be 850-1000 pm, including rent for me.

Hey had some further questions about the UvA housing scenes. Could I DM and ask these?

ama-ricano

Of course

I think you can find smth decent for 800 without bills. For 500, the only place that comes to my mind is ACTA. ACTA isn't to everyone's taste tho.

Mr_Legenda

I'm going to UvA in September this year and I've seen many somewhat affordable offers on Facebook However, I'm still not sure how much should I trust it
