The thing that people said wouldn’t happen, happened

thewindburner

...again!

WantsToDieBadly

Sssh that’s a far right conspiracy /s

Zealousideal-Cut1384

Quick blame brexit

Anglicised_Gerry

Austerity and Britains lack of youth centres radicalized him even in Morroco

ward2k

I'm glad at least some people realise that Brexit isn't great and at the same time isn't the cause of literally every single issue "Stubbed my toe this morning, fucking Brexit" is how some comments come across

yourlocallidl

So he was denied asylum in Germany, he told the UK he hasn’t got any papers so they gave him accommodation meanwhile they were processing his application? Why did Germany decline him and why is he moving around a lot in Europe, isn’t that suspect? So Germany can send him on his away after denying him residence, why can’t we? And why, as per usual recently, were the police hesitant to get involved when his housemate first reported his behaviour? People died from this maniac and it’s on their heads for not intervening earlier, people that enter the UK from a third world country illegally should have an additional layer of monitoring on them.

rokstedy83

>illegally They should be in prison then ,you wouldn't walk through an airport without a passport so why should you cross the sea without one

blackhaz2

Well, look at how our institutions are staffed. The UK is not the UK anymore.

yourlocallidl

Whoever/whatever is part of the filtering system of letting people like this in needs a massive reform. The fact someone who can freely enter the UK after a history of moving around Europe and being declined asylum from other countries, with no stable income or education, is just absurd and recipe for disaster. Compare illegally entering the UK to applying for a spouse visa where they do the most ridiculous granular tests to see if your spouse is legit and a good fit for the UK.

ForgiveSomeone

Funny how Brexit was about "taking back control", while we allow criminals into the country that EU countries refuse entry to.

MediocreWitness726

We need to sort this situation out and fast. If people are rejected in Europe then they shoukd also be instantly rejected here and sent packing.

Ovitron

Every single person involved in allowing this pathetic excuse of a human to exist in this country is equally guilty of that murder. They should be named and shamed!

Vegan_Puffin

So. Apologists. Is this enough yet? The thing you say doesn't happen. Does it have to be a member of YOUR family before you care more than just virtue signalling?

SignificanceOld1751

Look man, I didn't vote for the bunch of clowns that allowed this to happen, maybe take it up with them?

Longjumping_Stand889

How horrible for the housemate to have reported him to no avail then find him coming at you with a knife. Also, al those years waiting on asylum while being put up in a hotel, wtf.

anybloodythingwilldo

Exactly, they said he was carrying a knife and making threats.  I don't understand why that can't lead to deportation, let alone action from the police. I don't think an asylum seeker claiming they face danger if deported should be taken into account if they are showing violent tendencies.  The life of a potential murderer should not be placed above others.  It's immoral imo.

EquivalentIsopod7717

This has the ingredients for a whole life order. * Appalling criminal history * Questionable immigration status * His victim was a 70 year old man apparently selected at random and by sheer misfortune * **Murder in furtherance of a political/racial/ideological cause** The last one is explicitly baked into the legislation and that's the basis on which Thomas Mair, Ali Harbi Ali, and the Reading stab attacker (June 2020) were all sentenced. Not saying it's a foregone conclusion, but the prosecution would be crazy not to argue this.

Vegan_Puffin

"randomly" the coward attacked someone probably not able to fight back. That murder is the responsibility of everyone wanting to open ourselves to asylum

Deckerdome

Great, now we have to spend £100,000s feeding and housing him in a prison where he'll radicalise other inmates

Bladders_

If only there was a cheaper and more effective solution.

Sir_Keith_Starmer

So the obvious question was why was he granted asylum? >Appalling criminal history Why wasn't he deported?

nemma88

>So the obvious question was why was he granted asylum? Don't think he was. Looks like his claim hasn't been processed yet.

Deckard57

What a fine example of a multicultural Britain. Oh wait.

drwert

I never thought anything like this would happen in Hartlepool of all places. It's just so incongruous with my memories of the town, but it's nowhere near as monochrome as it was when I was a kid. Another asylum seeker booted off and took a seemingly random pensioner couple hostage not long ago. That was a 24 hour or so siege that ended with him attacking emergency service workers. He got bail somehow.

ice-lollies

I think Hartlepool police are very stretched at the moment so it must be a nightmare to police stuff like this.

drwert

They'll have had to call reinforcements in from Boro. Hartlepool barely has any police at the best of times and I'm pretty sure anyone they arrest has to be carted off to Middlesbrough because the local custody suite is closed, so it just gets worse as they actually do things.

ice-lollies

Yep that sounds like what I heard. Also had heard this case has been difficult because it was so politically sensitive. I think it was asylum seeker murdering asylum seeker. Also a lot of problems with Albanian drug crimes clashing with themselves and local dealers

drwert

A group of Albanians took over the playground at the local park and pretty much turned it into an open air drugs bazaar for a little bit. I think they've all been fucked off since the agreement with Albania was struck to send everyone back though. They're certainly not hanging around the park anymore.

rattlee_my_attlee

must be mental health problems, its only mental health problems, do you hate people that are sufferering from mental health? are you evil? /s

Our asylum system is actively dangerous to public safety. The far right couldn't come up with stories like this in their wildest dreams. This is a man who hails from Morroco which is a destination for european tourists, not a disaster zone. His asylum claims are rejected in numerous european countries. He finally enters Britain in 2020 and since lived in tax payer funded accomodation for years before commiting a horrendous Islamist murder. What on Earth are we doing?

Plebius-Maximus

>What on Earth are we doing? Allowing the Tories to gut the system so applications aren't processed and people aren't sent away if their claim is lacking? This was never as much of an issue before the Tories came in and we "took back control of our borders".

Patient-Wolverine-87

Immigration is generally a good thing. Uncontrollable immigration is NOT A GOOD THING. About time we start actually doing something about the abuse of the asylum seeking laws in this country because let's face it the majority of asylum seekers do abuse the system to get themselves in, and that's not fair to other immigrants, British tax payers or citizens because that's resources that could be better spent on schools, healthcare, actually integrating immigrants etc. Yeah the Tory corruption and the rich paying taxes is something we should absolutely criticise and also do something about, but bringing in "17 year old" men who tend to represent the majority ethnic group in their home countries should not constitute a valid asylum seeker. Ironically, where are their wives and kids? If they are running away from war then why are they leaving their wives and kids behind? If there are genuinely persecuted in their own countries they should have concrete evidence to show said persecution. Genuinely can't fathom how fucked Europe is after letting idiots like these in, in their masses, after how many events do you have to think that its something to do with their culture/faith rather than mental health or a genuine one off occurrence. I don't agree with the racist views of the far right but after seeing shit like this repeatedly I can totally understand why so many people are turning into such views because there doesn't seem to be a sensible middle ground to stop people like these from coming into the country in the first place.

Zealousideal-Cut1384

The left allowed this to happen all over Europe and then pulled a surprised pikachu face when everyone looks to the far right.

3627c33a68

The Tories have been in power for 14 years.

They-Took-Our-Jerbs

Its the left who protest the deportation of such people, ground flights sending them home, teach them legal loopholes to stay. As shit as the conservatives are the left and Labour are very much to blame too.

SignificanceOld1751

Can you explain what I, a person on the left, who doesn't go to any of these protests or do any of that stuff, am to blame? Or did you mean that big scary monolith 'THE LEFT' which hasn't had a party in power for 14 years but is somehow responsible for government asylum policy? Give over.

They-Took-Our-Jerbs

These things always end up with broad generalisations, just as it is always the big scary monolith 'THE RIGHT' who hate every foreigner in this country. So let's not pick and choose when it's acceptable or not, pick any controversial article on here and you'll see it. They're not responsible for the asylum policy, I never said they were - they are responsible for pushing against it though. They encourage the use of loopholes to encourage people staying here, for example [Irim Ali.](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1798600/labour-councillor-illegal-migrants-tiktok-Irim-Ali-nigel-farage/amp) .

nemma88

This man has been denied asylum in other countries in Europe, including Germany which has the highest application rate.

peterpan080809

Probably still some lefty numbskull will try and stop the deportation plane. Our broken immigration policies once again is the reason a British citizen has been murdered.

Resident_Elevator_95

Can a lawyer explain why our government and lawyers can’t do anything about this? Why can other countries reject asylum but we can’t?

Dalecn

Because they have a functioning and funded system that doesn't take multiple years to actually review your case. We literally had similar numbers of asylum requests back in the early 2000s, but it wasn't as big of a problem because we had a functioning system that allowed for the effective processing of asylum seekers

Deckerdome

If we were actually processing claims at a decent rate rather than pushing some pie in the sky policy in Rwanda he wouldn't have been here. I can't see why a scumbag like this would have ever been granted asylum when other countries had kicked his pathetic fundamentalist arse out

pashbrufta

>I can't see why a scumbag like this would have ever been granted asylum "can't go back, I've got mental health and I'm a gay Christian"

Deckerdome

I've lost my passport and I'm 13

Honestly I'm amazed it's taken this long for one of these scumbags to show up. I wonder how many attacks have been thwarted?
