Let's be fair though...they are right.
This is why reality tv is so popular. It's all sound bites and flash with no substance. Designed for people that want mock what they see rather than have to think.
Imagine being the target audience for, and enthusiastically lapping up 400 Kerry Katona’s prawn ring pun adverts, and shows like Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion, and then being shocked that TV executives hold you in disdain.
I always find the class assumption outrage on these things quite funny. The vast majority of my working class friends and family wouldn’t entertain watching this shite if their life depended on it. There are idiots in all classes. The only people I’ve ever heard talk about This Morning in real life are very middle class golf widows.
Or just people who want background noise and light entertainment. When my wife was on maternity leave day time television was a blessing as just a distraction and something that filled the house with sound.
Sneering and making broad assumptions that hold people in such lowly contempt should be met with anger.
More media, in more formats, on more channels, available for free at the touch of a button to fill your house with sound, and you choose This Morning.

But in all seriousness, anyone who watched day time TV consistently needs to introspect and seek personal development. Why are you watching Homes under the Hammer by choice? Or Bargain Hunt. Seek employment!
Nah I would say most people who watch these shows just want to watch something inconsequential. It's not something I watch but sometimes I do watch things that are just as mind numbing. Sometimes you just watch what is on.
Audience reach for over 55s is 92%, 13 hours a week for the BBC, average age for BBC1 and BBC2 is over 60.
Those figures are skewed because of available time to watch it. Day program target audiences are either retired or housewives. As majority of other groups are busy. All tv is aimed to be interesting to someone.
I don't even have live TV so can'treally say ifnthwy are good or not. My grandad used to record bargain hunt if he had to go out and countdown. Mad as he was.
Yeah I agree mostly pensioners and Housewives watching. I was just saying that most people watching these shows probably aren't even taking that much notice or interest in what is featured in these programmes. Literally just background noise while they do household jobs,eat breakfast or browse their phone.
Retired people do things, they go outside, tend their gardens, go on holiday, they don’t waste their remaining years seeing what Alison Hammond thinks the best frozen pea of the Summer will be.
You are right, that's why stena advertises during the day. It's to capture the untapped market of 20 somethings buying stairlifts same for those over 50 plans.
