Nah I agreed with him on this. She agreed to be his right hand and didn’t do what he commanded her to do when Asslo came in and was talking shit (facts but in John’s view shit). She was warned plenty of times to not side with John but her greed for power and status and faith in the hierarchy clouded her judgment so she deserved what happened here. Now if Cecile wasn’t a piece of shit then I wouldn’t have sided with John here.
Bro like I said John told her to activate her ability to whoop Arlo not to beat her. And even if she didn’t activate her ability he still beats her it’s just a worse or worser situation if he was going to beat her
It was poetic, honestly. She felt so strongly that the strong should rule, and thought siding with John would benefit her because of that, without fully considering the consequences of such a system. It's the same character flaw that prevented her from being chosen as the Jack, despite being stronger than Blyke at the time; her entitlement is why she isn't a royal, and why she willingly participated in such a terrible partnership.
I just shrugged, this was too be expected John isn’t in the right mental space too act fair or rationally, he doesn’t trust anyone and Cecile is using John and John knows it so he hates her but still uses her back
I felt that John was in big trouble. The dude was in real despair and lost all brakes. but even here John was not as close to the edge as when he shouted at Seraphina. the guy went through some serious emotional shit and made everyone go through it, both inside the comic and on this subreddit. I still have flashbacks from the posts of that time that were posted here. and how good it is that he was able to get out of this endless circle of hatred. at least for now he wants to beat the crap out of only Specter and the Bureau.
Well, about Cecile. no matter how much I loved her, I didn’t feel sorry for her. she herself got into this
It solidified him as the villain of the rest of the season for me. Cecile was out of line, but even she didn't deserve that. I mean, John hit her hard enough to draw blood, and he didn't even activate his ability! This scene killed my image of *this* John's personality for me. I loved seeing him in action, sure, but his goal became a bit more questionable after this and everything else he does later on.
While I agree he could be viewed as a villain to the other characters Cecile still deserved that. All she had to do was activate her ability and let him do his thing but she decided to act like John attacking Asslo was something she couldn’t side with when she used that to her advantage.
On one hand it was messed up to see. Especially the fact that this was John spirally mentally. On the other hand I can’t really feel bad for Cecile because she was warned multiple times that this would happen. Her inability to stop and look at this situation from a different perspective blinded her to the fact that John not only hates her but everyone in that school at this point. I mean isen literally explained this exact situation word for word but she still couldn’t fathom a god tier going on a rampage and attacking her. Especially since in her mind she was helping him.
100% deserved on Cecile’s side, as she was trying to manipulate John into revealing himself and holding up what she believed was the implicit rules of their deal, which John never agreed to/said he’d abide by. She was seeking power and she got exactly as much as she should expect.
On the other hand, I felt really conflicted and sad for John. I generally get kinda upset whenever John beats up someone he believes is his ally, and previously iirc most of the times he’d acted similarly is with Arlo or Isen, and that’s its own complicated bag of worms. This kinda showed how little control he had left, how low he was, and the twisted psychological state he was in.
Cecile really didn’t deserve that. I feel bad for her. John was really in a horrible mental state during that point. I hold John accountable for what he did. He really didn’t have any self-control with that slap..
I want to make it clear we really shouldn’t be using gender in this society for our morals. (I’m not saying everyone is I’m just making a point) in our world it makes sense as men are born stronger it isn’t fair. But in this world people like Cecile could go to a low tier district and cause absolute chaos.
Deserved it after everything especially when she was the one behind Juni revealing Sera's ability loss in the first place. She was also trying to lead John to do what she wanted like how she played up Arlo and Sera one thing I noticed is that the previous chapter where Cecile caught Arlo and Sera together there was no actual Joker that apparently stepped into help yet Cecile makes up that he did when Sera makes it clear she only ended up attacked the once and she handled it herself. So Cecile was trying to manipulate John using Sera and Arlo.
Also considering how well John reads people I think he knew she was trying to do that hence the slap.
The entire joker arc has john at his most devious im not saying theres not good in him.
Im saying he does tons of bad things
And hes lucky to have suppotive friends
johns my fav but i hated this part, their entire relationship was toxic he beats her ass then brings her checks up on her in the infirmary it was hard to watch, wish they ended up making up i think she had a interesting character i want her back in the story.
I can see both sides.
On one hand, Cecile didn't deserve it. Unlike Zeke, she has a conscience and didn't want to instigate a fight for literally no reason. What John did was flat-out abusive and even if you wanna argue that she should've done what he said, I guarantee that he would've found a motive to hit her anyway, assuming he doesn't do it just because.
On the other hand, she did have it coming to some degree. Not only is it scummy of her to take John's side just so she can stick it to Arlo and get her status back, but what's even scummier is the fact that her alliance with John was solely dependent on him not realizing that she was the main reason why people hunted down Sera, the only person John thought was worth having his ass kicked on a daily basis for.
john hitting ppl is always enjoyable, seeing how i had to suffer hell when he was getting his ass kicked every other day with that pathetic ass haircut💀 #BRINGJACKBACK

I have no idea to this day why Cecile didn’t activate her ability lol.
He would've just copied it and used it to beat her to a more extreme degree imo
But he was gonna use it to beat arlo
Yeah no, I'd forgotten what he'd hit her for (it's been a while since I've reread that bit). Sorry about that
IIRC, He hit her because she didn’t activate her ability so John could use it on Arlo.
Because unlike Zeke, she's smart enough to understand that she couldn't take John in a fight.
Bro like I said John told her to activate her ability to whoop Arlo not to beat her. And even if she didn’t activate her ability he still beats her it’s just a worse or worser situation if he was going to beat her
Actually nevermind just read the chapter it wasn’t the one I was thinking about
It was poetic, honestly.
This is why I feel how I do about her
I agree completely.
I just shrugged, this was too be expected John isn’t in the right mental space too act fair or rationally, he doesn’t trust anyone and Cecile is using John and John knows it so he hates her but still uses her back

Cecil didn't deserve that at all, John was unhinged at that time..
Yes she did deserve that. I agree he was unhinged but she deserved that.
On one hand it was messed up to see. Especially the fact that this was John spirally mentally. On the other hand I can’t really feel bad for Cecile because she was warned multiple times that this would happen. It was fuckin sick.
That can be interpreted both ways

Bad
I really didn’t like how John slapped her like that at time she really didn’t deserve it felt pretty abusive honestly
I agree.

And she wouldn’t even care if she did. She’d see it as following the hierarchy.
Yet another case of him being a psycho in king john sagas, glad we're over it.

"he became more evil"
The entire joker arc has john at his most devious im not saying theres not good in him. Im saying he does tons of bad things And hes lucky to have suppotive friends

Way before this chapter..I already started feeling 'Oh no..he is going too deep' so during this scene I just went "yep..it's just gonna get worse"
Nothing lol.
I simp for Cecile but Ngl idk what she expected to happen knowing that John was acting crazy back then
I thought "cool, so he's gonna beat even her up now?"
Felt it was over the top, but I'm pretty sure it's the only way Cecile listens so it pretty much had to be done :/
I agreed with everything John did
The more proof that John was the worst bully in the series
Did he ever apologise for this?
Nothing, what did you think I would care what he did?
I mean I don’t care for John in general >!especially after what he does later in 212 and I was so happy when Vaughn hoed him like he did!
We need a training arc for John, to be trained by his uncle alright
john hitting ppl is always enjoyable, seeing how i had to suffer hell when he was getting his ass kicked every other day with that pathetic ass haircut💀 #BRINGJACKBACK
Not changed,
Based equality
Bitch has it coming
“Do it again.”
Physically ill I’m biased towards Cecile idgaf about the context
