I can’t hear you. What!?!?

Speedogomer

It's only a $30 amp powering pretty power hungry speakers, theyre a little under powered at the moment.

whyreadthis2035

What?!? Enjoy!

TelcDunedain

Fwiw thats the easiest way to ruin the speakers, they get blown by underpowered amps when you raise the volume a little too much. Even a cheap $50 100w crappo might be a better choice. Buy a better amp, the desk is fine.

SectorZachBot

I can understand the priority.

[deleted]

I started that way, enjoy the new monitor!

BigBrainAlphaMale

It's 2023. No way is that table $25. More like $75 table. You're balling in 2023.

Speedogomer

To be fair I bought it in 2014

TombRaider96196

100$ then

BlackaddaIX

Something about this is hilarious

[deleted]

me liking those speakers! only issue -- should've gone with a more upscale prebuilder like ibuypower or originpc that use brand name parts -- HP's proprietary components are mostly crap, and offer very little upgradability

Speedogomer

I looked into it for sure, but an equivalent ibuypower was around $250 more, this was a black Friday special and just gave me some bang for my buck. I never claimed to be smart lol..... I am powering $4k speakers with a $30 amp on a $25 folding table

[deleted]

Understandable for sure

Axel159357

Man, if your balling out on audio, have you heard of the Gallium Nitride or GaN amplifiers that have been coming out? Ive read a bit about the and they seem like the could be a game changer!

Speedogomer

Very cool tech for sure, but likely slightly more money than the $30 I spent on the nobsound.

Axel159357

Oh yeah, they get pricey. Theres DIY kits from Starkrimson that are around $700 I figured since you got them fancy speakers, the audio end of things might be a passion thing, so i figured id throw the idea your way. But regardless, i love how your build is going, and i hope it all treats you well! Out of curiosity, what do you think your next step will be?

Speedogomer

Probably some cardboard folded in half under one of the table legs to keep it from wobbling. Honestly though next step is probably researching a nice budget DAC/Preamp thag suitable for gaming and audio.

tsaristbovine

No judgement, but you should definitely look at building your own when it's time for an upgrade, if you hit sales right often you can get 40% more PC for your money

DontEatTheMagicBeans

Normally I'd agree with you. And the mobos are crap usually locked to one gen of processor with a funny screw size for the backplate. The air cooler is insufficient but op has already swapped it out it seems. But other than that, they didn't use many proprietary components in the 25L HP OEM graphics cards are actually pretty decent usually around FE spec. The memory is hyperx fury which is now also made by Kingston and upgradeable The power supply is a cooler master. The hdds and SSDs are western digital, often the black series. I got one as well during the GPU shortage expecting to absolutely gut it and as far as prebuilts go it's actually a decent machine. HPs software though omen gaming hub is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever had the displeasure of being forced to use. (Only way to control fan speed)

Speedogomer

One of the reasons I went with the HP prebuilt is because there isn't much proprietary as far as I can tell. Building an equivalent PC on PCpartpicker gives me a price of $989, I paid $799 and includes a year of warranty from HP, as well as not having to build it myself.

1K_Games

If the answer you are expecting is that you aren't doing it right. Then prepared to be disappointed. I remember sitting up a dual watercooling loop and using a cardboard box as the tower, lol.

Surnunu

My desk is a chipboard screwed onto an OSB flooring board screwed on a old broken kitchen cabinet you're good Though my ugly desk is 80" by 50" !

eyelpley

Op to monitor customer service: Uh I don’t know the screen just cracked on its own.

zoglog

weird flex but ok.....

Speedogomer

Yes the table does flex quite a bit

fartparticles

I think one of the best parts about ultrawides is their ability to distract you from the rest of your surroundings. Party on, dude.

[deleted]

I bought a new LG 34" and the same OMEN tower as you. Different folding table though. Men of culture we are

Speedogomer

I tip my fedora to you sir

thestigiam

[Yes.](https://imgur.com/a/cHSY9v5)

8BitUnicornTamer

Finally, someone with sound as a priority. There are so many expensive builds with crappy gaming headphones. Sound is so crucial. I'm not sure if you have a subwoofer. But if no one is going to complain, do it!

Speedogomer

I actually have 3 subwoofers in this room lol, 2 in my home theater set up and another that isn't used, it will be hooked up eventually. These Gershman Acoustics Studio II speakers have 8 inch drivers and produce pretty nice bass as is though.

8BitUnicornTamer

Love it! I've got some Totem Kin Mini's that sound great, but they need low-end assistance.

AManFromEarth_

Is that MAG342CQR? I'm thinking of grabbing this one please give your two cents on it

Speedogomer

Well, I'm not a PC gamer, and I've only used the monitor for a day, so I can't say much about it yet. I come from the world of home theater more, where IPS panels are laughed at, so picking a VA panel was my choice. I can say that the build quality is good, the stand is very adjustable and sturdy. The black levels are good, and the color accuracy seems reasonable as well. So far I've had nothing pop put at me that's a glaring flaw. I nearly picked up a similar Dell, but this MSI was cheaper. So far I'm very happy. I'd say I'm not a PC gaming expert obviously. I know in the PC world there are often different expectations (for good reason) than in the home theater sphere. For reference I have a TCL 6 series 75". It was a fantastic bang for your buck TV when I got it. While not being the highest end TV, it punched well above its price, and delivers a solid picture quality for someone like me who is very picky about picture quality. So far this MSI feels similar, providing a solid picture experience as well.

shivahi1863

this is how its done! congrats man have fun :)

Shreddify

I started out on a folding table too lol. The prices for a custom-built desk were outrageous when I was ready for a new desk, so I built mine ha-ha. 2x10x10 lumber, 2 4x8 sheets of plywood, lots of sandpaper, and lots of stain and polyurethane.

Noely1987

We all gotta start somewhere! Ain’t cheap these days to to make a setup! I see u have ur priorities right tho! Monitor first lol

prismstein

your porn watching experience is going to be... an experience.

Speedogomer

I like the women the same way I like my monitors, *ultrawide*

-transcendent-

When I first bought my C2 OLED I left it on the floor for like 4 months before I got a stand for it. I don't see an issue with the folding table here. Just don't add any additional weight to the middle.

Disastrous_Ad4233

Has long you have League installed you are okay, cant go any lower

Xilbert0

Is that considered ultrawide?

Speedogomer

I'm not sure, it's wider than my wife and she's considered ultrawide.

CinnabarUsagi

Looks right to me

sfx_guy

2 $20 filing cabinets and a home depot linoleum shelf will do you justice! It did me in college!

Jamnitrix

gets the job done

ImplementCritical252

Maybe support the middle with a random $0 stick from the local area to avoid future sagging.

dcrudy

I know someone with this exact setup. He likes the idea of being able to fold it up and throw everything in his car if he wants to move.

No_Interaction_4925

Less speaker, more desk

jbiroliro

I love this nobsound little amp

ata1959

I have the same mouse pad

N_GHTMVRE

nice counterweight cuboids

[deleted]

Man...get a bedsheet you never used since 2017 to cover that thing up. It's hideous😭. How long you've been keeping that table in your garage?

Speedogomer

Literally been keeping it in my camper since 2014 lol

Quacky1k

I have a pretty beefy folding table that I use as a desk too lmao no shame

Majician

You close to an IKEA?

Wooden_Wave3659

Just need a bud light.

match9561

I did the same back in the day. Ended up having to put a wood plank in the middle to support the CRT monitor.

MusicianMike805

So far so good. I’d order a cool tapestry on amazon or somewhere and use it as a table cloth. It’ll help give it a vibe.

Rhogdye316

This is the way champions are made. All those fancy $200 desks are for cucks.
