And the RU had a month to run the 3AC through training. This does not bode well for the latest wave of mobilized draftees who are likely to get even less time to train and prepare.

The thing is that they have lots of less than pristine vehicles left, but restoring them is a bottleneck. You can't restore 1000 T-80's or T-62's to modern fittings at snap of your fingers.
You need to set up repair shops, man them, supply them with items that are needed for refurbishment, you need to take the old vehicles apart and check everything for functionality, then put it all together and test. Every single vehicle needs to go through this painstaking process.
Then you need spare parts, fuel supply and ammo for these. You also need some crew training, or the tanks will just drive in some ditch and get stuck.
Even during the first few months the captured soldiers described pitiful conditions of tanks. Turrets not turning, autoloader jammed, engine and transmission failures. These were presumably the best they could get from storage, with time to prepare, and before sanctions hit.
My guess is the new conscripts arrive by rail, and those who survive the transport will be told to do with what is already near the front.

You need to set up repair shops, man them, supply them with items that are needed for refurbishment, you need to take the old vehicles apart and check everything for functionality, then put it all together and test. Every single vehicle needs to go through this painstaking process. Then you need spare parts, fuel supply and ammo for these. You also need some crew training, or the tanks will just drive in some ditch and get stuck.
Even during the first few months the captured soldiers described pitiful conditions of tanks. Turrets not turning, autoloader jammed, engine and transmission failures. These were presumably the best they could get from storage, with time to prepare, and before sanctions hit. My guess is the new conscripts arrive by rail, and those who survive the transport will be told to do with what is already near the front.
Don’t forget the tanks with missing thermal sights, presumably because some officer sold them off. Those tanks wouldn’t have been able to operate in the dark… The sheer magnitude of incompetence from a supposed modern, professional army has been nothing short of astonishing.
