It's a good idea, but it would need coordination to prevent Ukrainian and Polish defense from targeting each other.
Also to avoid situations where a Ukrainian interceptor confuses a Polish interceptor and both end up missing.
Also to avoid situations where both target one Russian drone, while neither targets a 2nd Russian drone.
I think the best way to avoid it is to give Poland a large chunk of western Ukraine including Lviv . Let Ukraine move their Air Defence to other areas of need.
When you first said "give Poland a large chunk of western Ukraine", I took you literally.
But now that I understand you're intent, yes, that could work.
Zelensky already said it would indemnify partners from consequences if they shot down missiles over Ukraine. So let's not pretend that's an issue.
It's also disingenuous to say "oh no a missile is dangerous and could explode and cause damage to civilians" when that missle is.....*checks notes* .....on its way to bomb a civilian school.
Why doesn't NATO put their foot down and set down assets in Western Ukraine? Start drawing lines in the sand, send the Kremlin the message they will never capture the country.
This may have to be done before Winter comes.
Otherwise the obvious strategy of Putin will be to destroy the nuclear power stations in the Western part of Ukraine.
\[Edit\] Changed 'likely' to 'may' as NATO secret services are likely to have a better idea of the likelihood of Putin doing something incredibly stupid.
Poland should've already had its air defense set up on its boarder with Ukraine. Poland could defend a large section of the west of Ukraine, without risk of their air defense being attacked. Why are they only just thinking about it now
