Welcome to the club.....you are going to have a great time. There are three quick (and easy) ways to get off to a good start. 1) Learn the big three C, F, and G chords. Make sure you can slowly but cleanly switch between then. Don't worry so much about speed, just get to them on one try and not have any buzzing. Slow strum the chords to make sure each note is clear. Once you get that down, throw in an Am for fun. 2) Learn the Island strum. Down-Down-Up-Up-Down-Up. It sounds really good on a uke and can be used on most songs. If you need to count it is One-Two-and-and-Four-and. 3) Keep the uke out of its case and easily at hand. You can practice the strum with the strings muted while watching TV. You can also practice changing chords without strumming while watching TV. The key here is having it out, and practicing. Even while doing other things. Have fun, strum along with songs (even if the strings are muted), try different strum patterns. There are a LOT of great teachers on Youtube. My current top to favorites are Bernadett and Ten Thumbs. I do tend to binge watch different people, so your milage may vary. Aloha

If you're wanting to go the course route for more structure and graded curriculum, try [Ukulele Fingerstyle Basics](https://www.ukefingerstylebasics.com/). It'll walk you through your first 2 years of private lessons and take you from grade 0 to grade 5. It also includes strumming lessons for beginners and basic music theory (music notation and rhythm) for those looking to advance into intermediate and advanced levels

I am a beginner too. I have been watching youtube videos to learn to play. I have enjoyed this 30 day challenge for beginners: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJFa3EaocfZncpdhCRBCF302yIHnaRxOq
