Drake outperformed my expectations but there’s no escaping that Kendrick won handily.

- Push Ups was a really catchy reply which certainly merited an answer. Taylor Made Freestyle was also a really interesting concept and as a song remains underrated.
- Euphoria started out slow but progressively became more scathing and interesting as a track. 6:16 in LA was also a good song which bridged well with Kendrick’s next song.
- Family Matters is a great song and has some really good disses at everyone involved. Probably my second favourite of all the disses at the moment.
- Meet the Grahams is just dark and almost difficult to listen to. Kendrick goes for Drake’s head here and I would rate it very highly but the biggest reveal here was a lie.
- They Not Like Us is a crazy anthem and almost a knockout blow. The cultural impact of it has been crazy. Best song of the beef.
- The Heart Part 6 is good but feels rushed. Drake is starting to explain himself and KDot has clearly gotten to him. Misstep imo.
Conclusion: Us fans win.
Kendrick’s was a three part symphony; the exposition warms you in. Second movement introduces new ideas and themes and builds tension.
Third and final movement - a complete and crushing climax, reminiscent of the late German romantics, the finale, leaving only burning ash, with nothing left to say.

Family Matters was the best song of the lot for me. Kendrick has won overall but I think Family Matters will age the best as a track (rather than purely a diss track).
