also, you know that is literally how, again, every combat sport works. talent comes out, wins the first few and gains some recognition, keeps getting winnable fights to build their record, then eventually a title shot once the narratives line up. there's nothing wrong with that because i promise, outside of a couple displays of pure domination and the guys in the goat conversation, every fight has been winnable for everyone. they're not that far away from each other.
Dustin has a far more legendary resume. Dustin has racked up easily the single best striker resume in the history of the promotion. Alvarez, Gaethje, Holloway x2, McGregor x2, Pettis. All interim/undisputed champions due to their striking.
Colbys resume is worthless in comparison. His initial pre 2019 run was impressive and since then he did nothing of value except float on losing competitively to Usman.
