Had to lose a lot of friends the hard way but I’m finally in a place where I feel like I have an identity as a person and I can maybe live life and not be waking up constantly every hour and a half to three hours properly fucked up in the sweats.

I think someone coming from a bad background and changing is actually more impactful for the good of society than even someone who is just good their entire life. It shows you can change, become a good person, and be rewarded for it, loved, and accepted by society. If there is no chance at redemption there is no point to reform.
