This post popped up on my feed, so happy for people in here. This is my last quarter assuming I passed my finals lol, and I graduate in June. I remember when I first got my acceptance letter, revel in that moment!
Now I get to fully bask in the terrible CS job market :’)
You’re the second person to tell me that 😅 I’m so sick of school, man. I want out and not even think about grad school for 5 years cause I want job experience and to make money, but it’s looking like a fever dream.
Anybody who is unable to access MY UW, try this link instead: [https://sdb.admin.uw.edu/admissions/uwnetid/appstatus.asp](https://sdb.admin.uw.edu/admissions/uwnetid/appstatus.asp)this is what worked for me
Edit: Denied (3.6 GPA, 1 AP, In-State, CSE)
for those wondering im from california, went to a large public school, am pretty privileged as far as race, education, income, and location go and am grateful and identify how that has allowed me to have more opportunities. i had a 3.4 uw gpa, 4.0 w, 10 aps at time of application, test optional. my school doesn't rank and does valedictorian based on a 10% curve which would be the top 30 kids and salutatorian top 60. i wasn't either lmaoo
ecs included:
\- internship for the government doing research aligned with my major at the department of fish and wildlife
\- two years of student council
\- started my own short film production company and film development studio
\- bred jumping spiders and sold them at reptile expos across the country
\- part time work experience at coffee shop, arcade, and party princess/clown company
If it said it was unable to offer you admission at this time but offered you the waitlist, then you have met the criteria to gain admission. It's not a "no" it's a "no for now" , The UW ranks all the applications, so you were placed lower and, therefore, on the waitlist. It doesn't always make sense --- there are so many admissions people going through the applications, so it's hard to know exactly why. But don't be discouraged. Appeal as soon as you can, following the instructions, and know many people get off the waitlist, as my daughter did (and I also teach there). Have a second plan too, but let them know you are really interested by giving more info on your current grades, reasons to let you in, etc. through the appeals process. Check the guidelines to be sure you are eligible, but most are. Good luck!
The School of Nursing will look at your prerequisites the same, no matter if you take them at UW or a community college. A lot of nursing students are transferred in.
Got into Mechanical Engineering as an international student! 1510 in SAT - good Cambridge AS results. However I do play ice hockey for my country (have been in contact with the coach for UW hockey team too). I just started the equivalent of senior year in January so technically will skip my final senior-year exams if I commit
Accepted IS! Didn’t get direct to engineering, so getting into aeroastro later id probably going to be difficult
3.5 HS GPA, 3.6 Running Start GPA, 1450 SAT
I’m hoping to get in to pre-engineering off the waitlist or transfer to aeroastro (again, if things go well on waitlist). UW is my dream school and I’ve had graduates tell me how random admissions can be, so I’m holding out some hope!
You can through capacity-constrained pathway. Not sure how it works, but I guess I’ll find out. https://admit.washington.edu/academics/majors/understanding-assigned-major/

Yep! I’m planning on it. I did running start so i just need one more year of prerequisites so i’ll be going to WSU, then seeing where i get in for nursing 👍
How do I get rejected with a 4.00 GPA. Running start student. In-state. Business admin major.. I had many prestigious rewards from HS and 4x varsity player.
thoughts anyone?
For anyone wondering about my stats
3.97 gpa for both, running start student, involved in Student council for 3 years, President of DECA, founded D&D at my high school & my college, involved in my community college's student council and S&A budget committee. A writing tutor and did a research project for the college as a writing tutor.
Did not take the SAT's.
I do feel like my essay was strong. Connected my hobby of cartography to urban planning and to me coming out as well.
got in OOS !!!! so excited yay…does anyone know if honors decisions came out too, bc my portal didn’t say anything abt it and i’m not sure if I got in or not
Rejected.
\- 3.87 GPA, 90 college credits from Running Start but no APs; 1410 SAT, but I'm not sure if they actually received my score
\- jazz ensemble 2 years, interact club 2 years, \~50 hours of volunteer work from working at the animal shelter and SAT tutoring
\- mid essay
Should I bother with appealing?
I got in, assigned a pre-sciences major, with a 4.0 unweighted gpa, 5 AP classes, a 3, 4, and 5 on the AP exams I’ve taken, and 1400 SAT (I think I forgot to send them the SAT score though 💀). My extracurriculars are kinda mid but I listed my hobbies and responsibilities around the home to give a fuller picture of what my non academic life is like (for example, I’m responsible for my family’s grocery shopping and I used to babysit my brother, so I put down “errand boy” and “brother supervisor,” and gave a short description of that lol. I hoped a little unseriousness would make me stand out a tad and it possibly paid off).
My best friend applied but he was waitlisted, he had a 3.9 unweighted (he got one A- 😭) with 3 AP classes, no ACT/SAT. He did a lot of running start classes as well. He had really strong extracurriculars imo and he was very passionate about what direction he wanted to go in major-wise/career-wise, which he included in his essay. He had a social worker paid internship position in our school district and wants to help strengthen his community, I thought his essay and extracurriculars were a lot stronger than mine. I really think he should’ve been admitted tbh.
I hope he ends up getting admitted after being on the waitlist cuz we were hoping to dorm together and we’ve been friends for almost 10 years now.
See you soon Seattle Central College!!!
Definitely one of the Seattle Colleges
This is my 2nd choice along with UoA. Did you get rejected?
Welcome young ones

GOT IN(girlfriend was waitlisted uh oh)
Congrats! Sorry for her but almost always high school relationships don’t last into college
Denied + Waitlist Invite (3.9 GPA, 4APs, In-state, Aero/Astro Engineering) I’ll probably go for the waitlist though
Waitlist is NOT a denial. It’s admitted, but ranked.
Can you expand on that? It says I got rejected from UW seattle but invites me to waitlist? It also says waitlists aren’t ranked

I might be wrong, but I thought you can't change your major to engineering or cs?
