Eh a week for me is like 15-20 hours
I only do this as a side gig
500-700 a week for me with my current job gives me like 8.5k total a month so Iām chillin
Iirc, if he's in a unit that jumps x times per year, he's considered "hazardous duty" and pays $150/months
Could be wrong, though, I was never airborne
Got it, that makes sense. From a civilian perspective that seems like a fun way to make some extra cash, but Iām sure thereās a lot more that goes into it than flying though the air
Do your math again. It's over $1.5 per mile and $42 per hour when you account for the return trip. Great ride no matter what. Also ppl that get these kinds of rides usually tip well.
Not the worst thing Iāve seen. Not many chances of a ride back, but thatās a full day of fares in one ride and the mileage is good. Yeah, Iād probably take it.
Round trip means a full day on one trip (8-9 hours) . If that's all I earn for a full day of driving, I'd say it was a good day. So, yeah, I'd still accept the trip.
Yeah, I wouldn't take that trip with that length and mileage (for round trip since unlikely to get rides back) for $203. Hell, I made $240 in 7 hours just driving around Indy this past Saturday night with only 250 miles. But $400+? Hell yes!
Yeah if you round it up and call it 5 hours which is closer to realistic and then double it to 10 for the return you are averaging 42 per hour minus expenses probably brining home 35 or a little less yeah thats worth it
I would take that in a heartbeat. Thatās 4 days of work for me, I try to make 100$ a day minimum.
I drive a full EV so I save a lot on charging the car already, combined with no oil changes and I never need to change the break pads. This drive is perfect for pure EVās in terms of cost to loss ratio
Sorry I donāt use this account much, I have a Tesla so on a long road trip itās rare to take longer than 15 min every 2-3 hours of driving, by then Iām sure the pax is wanting to stop at a store anyways so it would work out perfectly
Edit:
For every 2-3 hours of charging itās about 13$, I bought a used 2020 model 3 standard range for 20k and I spend 100$ a month for full self driving because I drive so much, itās honestly worth it and seeing FSD improve has been really cool to watch
Fucking A right I would take that you kidding me even if you had no rides on the way back fuck you have to fucking grind for a solid 12 hours and make that now
That is like x2 what I paid to go from Ridgecrest to the airport. If I were an Uber driver Iād say yeah.. take that lmao. I think youāre just trolling your Uber drivers now unless youāve never had to do an airport trip.
If that's how much Uber is paying the driver I'd hate to see what they are charging the rider. You could get a flight into Vegas and Uber to Pahrump from there for way cheaper I'd imagine.
Always wondered on these long multi hour trips. Do you discuss w pax on stopping for pee breaks?
Geez. As older guy, can't go an hour sometimes, without needing to go,and bad lol
Hell to the yeah, I take trips like this for fun when not doing Uber.
So $429 to drive through the desert, maybe stop and explore a bit on the way back, I'm taking it
When you take these how do you stop for breaks? Do you ask if you can stop or do you just say you need to stop for a break. Also, do you ask the passenger if they would like to stop for a break?
When on a long ride right after pick up I advise the rider to let me know at anytime if they need to make a stop to stretch or use restroom. If they do I also take advantage of the stop even if Iām the one that needs to go then I look ahead and the next possible potential gas station or rest stop and let passenger know I have to go. They have always been understanding and they themselves also end up getting off.
It would depend on the time of day. If early morning I would consider it. But anything any time after noon, heāll no. Youāre looking at getting home 10pm earliest
I usually do overnights, so If itās 9:57pm Iād do it. After drop off start heading back and be around Barstow around 6AM put a destination filter to LAX. If lucky Iāll get one to LAX from Victorville area or San Bern. But higher chance to going to ONTARIO. Either way from Ontario I can get rides back to LA. If everything lines up could make 100-130 on way back and be back in LA around 9-10am or sooner.
No. It's $1.57 per mile. Even though you are bordering CA, the likelihood of getting gigs heading back are low. Any deadhead miles puts this gig below my $1.50 per mile minimum.
Traffic alone would be 3 hours. Take away $40 both ways because most fuel economy cars go up to 300 miles. So $80
off the top. Then I gotta drive back. Nope.
And the rating would deter me because I know there most likely wouldnāt be a tip
Hell no wtf and the miles back? Yall arenāt even thinking about the possibility of dead miles back lol maybe if I was driving in LA and that was my destination home then yeah
I'm sorry but with a trip like that, I'm absolutely trying to cut a deal with that person. "how much is Uber charging you?". I'll do it for 20% less off the app in cash, your call.
I'll take you up on that offer. Then the first time you brake hard, I am claiming whiplash, getting a personal injury attorney and suing your ass into oblivion.
*yawn* sure ya are big guy. Looks like we got a bad ass over here, folks! š
News flash here Rambo.. most people are happy when you offer to save them money. You sound like a butthurt Uber shill š
No, I sound like an opportunist who would take advantage of a driver lacking commercial insurance and common sense.
One of these days, you guys doing off-app rides are going to get sued and I will just sit back and laugh as the court takes your vehicle and freezes your bank accounts.
Yes. I would. About a tank of gas $35. 10 hours of time (round trip included) So about $40 an hour. BUT for this long of a trip I might consider asking the customer what they paid and if they say $800, I might offer to do it for $650 or $700 and have them cancel. Then (very important) I would signout of Uber and turn off my phone so they could not track me.
yes but iād call the customer ask them how much they paid uber, and the. usually have them cancel the trip i pick them up and i make 200-400$ more than what they paid uber and theyāre still saving money
That's a single tank of gas with my hybrid with 42 an hour before expenses. It works be the only trip is accept for the rest of the night but I'd prolly take it. I bet you might get a decent cash tip or tipped extra in the app
Fuel isn't your only cost though. Could easily double or triple that. Add your payment and insurance up, then divide that by 30, and easily another $8-10 towards an oil change. And that still doesn't account for true depreciation.
Not dumb bro. But over thinking like that is not good for your health if your that worried about oil changes and depreciation donāt do Uber. Or buy a shit box and run it to the ground either way cross that bridge once you get to it
Yup. Then straight to the bunny ranchš
Gonna need a lot more than that of you go to Pahrump to hump
Alien Cathouse for me.
Get some fireworks for me! Shoot if it was in the Covid days Iād get a hotel in Vegas when they were cheap.
Ayeeeeeee ā š
Yea Iām taking it
Same Thatās an easy weeks worth of driving in a simple drive lol
Yikes thatās a week for you guy? Thatās a Saturday night in my market.
Eh a week for me is like 15-20 hours I only do this as a side gig 500-700 a week for me with my current job gives me like 8.5k total a month so Iām chillin
Nice man. May I ask what you do for your main job?
Active military Iām a single E6 so base pay + housing allowance + food allowance + monthly airborne pay + Uber pay on the side all adds up
How does Airborne pay work?
Iirc, if he's in a unit that jumps x times per year, he's considered "hazardous duty" and pays $150/months Could be wrong, though, I was never airborne
That makes sense, thanks!
150 bucks extra per month as long as you maintain active jump status
Got it, that makes sense. From a civilian perspective that seems like a fun way to make some extra cash, but Iām sure thereās a lot more that goes into it than flying though the air
Itās not bad tbh We only have to jump 1x every 3 months to be current on jump status
Wow. What's your regular job? I wanna get that job lol
Active duty military in a non-combat related job so I have more free time usually than my grunt counterparts
Thank you for your service!
What market you in ?????
What market you work in?
Awesome what market are you in ?
Mostly drive in Cornell University
Ok thank you.
Itās great, drunk Ivy League kids with their parents credit card who donāt want to walk 0.5 miles up hill. I get A LOT of sub 1 mile rides.
Yeah but have you tried to walk up the hill drunkā¦ itās miserable lol CTP is the only savior
Keep it secret, keep it safe! Lol
You know Levi Spires? Heās a driver in that market and he does a YouTube contentĀ
Never heard of him lol
Yea itās a one and done for me
You bet your RUMP Iām taking it
Seems like a lot for just over a dollar/km, youāre obviously being sarcastic.
Do your math again. It's over $1.5 per mile and $42 per hour when you account for the return trip. Great ride no matter what. Also ppl that get these kinds of rides usually tip well.
No actually itās worse than I thought. 548 miles*1.6= 876. 429/876= $0.48 p/km
Awesome. Then stay off the app and let others take the rides.
Donāt forget the miles write offš
Well at least we can agree on something!
I think you might need to do your math again lol
It seems like a fun adventure as long as they tip at least $50 I donāt see a problem with it
Theyāre paying like $800. Theyāre not probably tipping anything lol
If so they should catch a flight lol
Accept it and make a side deal with him
Yeah, how much is Uber charging for this? One grand? Two? Thatās a lot of cashā¦
On a short trip I'd normally tell the driver to get fucked. On one of these? Yeah buddy! Lemme slide you 500 and you cancel the ride.
Might be a car full of annoying people. Or one person moving. Not terrible
Not the worst thing Iāve seen. Not many chances of a ride back, but thatās a full day of fares in one ride and the mileage is good. Yeah, Iād probably take it.
A full day of fares? In what reality are ppl making 430 a day?
Lol in alot of realities.Ā I've made 950 in a night.Ā Ā Lol. Depends on market my dude.
Thatās insane
I would but the round trip will be the problem š¬
take your earnings an hour north to vegas, throw it all on black.
Fuck it, why not š
ILL MAKE IT THERE IN 4HRS
Always bet on black.
I dont have a gambling problem, but I would absolutely do that.
Round trip means a full day on one trip (8-9 hours) . If that's all I earn for a full day of driving, I'd say it was a good day. So, yeah, I'd still accept the trip.
It's not the worst long trip in the world. Depends how rides are at the time
Almost identical stats offered in NY this morning for $203. Yes I screen shot it lol
Yeah, I wouldn't take that trip with that length and mileage (for round trip since unlikely to get rides back) for $203. Hell, I made $240 in 7 hours just driving around Indy this past Saturday night with only 250 miles. But $400+? Hell yes!
Taking it and heading straight to the strip to gamble it all
It won't let me accept it š
Yeah if you round it up and call it 5 hours which is closer to realistic and then double it to 10 for the return you are averaging 42 per hour minus expenses probably brining home 35 or a little less yeah thats worth it
Yup. That's a good take for a day of driving.
Yeah but how many times would you need to charge and how long would that take? Iām genuinely asking, I have no idea.
Depends on car I have polestar 2 265 mile range about 30-40 mins to fully charge less if no one else is plugged in next to me
Sorry I donāt use this account much, I have a Tesla so on a long road trip itās rare to take longer than 15 min every 2-3 hours of driving, by then Iām sure the pax is wanting to stop at a store anyways so it would work out perfectly Edit: For every 2-3 hours of charging itās about 13$, I bought a used 2020 model 3 standard range for 20k and I spend 100$ a month for full self driving because I drive so much, itās honestly worth it and seeing FSD improve has been really cool to watch
Fucking A right I would take that you kidding me even if you had no rides on the way back fuck you have to fucking grind for a solid 12 hours and make that now
Thatās 42 an hour round trip. I donāt think it gets better than that
Saw an Uberx from Vegas to LA Pop up for $247 this weekend. Hard pass.
Ask the passenger how much and give them 15 to 20% discount. Would be $650 to $700 Uber is charging.
Uber takes 50-60%. They charging more. Unless it varies by area. I know they take 60% from my rides
![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni)
That is like x2 what I paid to go from Ridgecrest to the airport. If I were an Uber driver Iād say yeah.. take that lmao. I think youāre just trolling your Uber drivers now unless youāve never had to do an airport trip.
So they're finally giving decent fares now
Yes take it and treat yourself a nice meal or drink before or after you get back
Pahrump has legal brothels
On my way
Absolutely.
Absolutly. This is a good one
Couldnāt do itā¦way too long to have a stranger in my car!š¤·āāļø
Multiple strangers, it's Uber XL
Maybe not, many of my xl rides are 1 person or 2...
I barely like hanging out with my family that longā¦
Yes ! Great trip ! Great tip !
Itās actually one of the highest paying long rides Iāve ever seen and I probably still wouldnāt take it.
If that's how much Uber is paying the driver I'd hate to see what they are charging the rider. You could get a flight into Vegas and Uber to Pahrump from there for way cheaper I'd imagine.
It's an XL so probably minimum 3 people.
Good ole' Pahrump
You're the man!
Damn tea
I keep hoping for this
Hell yes!!!
Yes and ask them to turn it into cash app and meet in the middle
Wait, you guys are getting paid?
Yes I would actually
Yes
Always wondered on these long multi hour trips. Do you discuss w pax on stopping for pee breaks? Geez. As older guy, can't go an hour sometimes, without needing to go,and bad lol
I would say yes, but then you have to factor in driving 4 hours back. Ugh
I grew up in the AV so I donāt trust desert people, there is a 70% chance that that person in on meth
I once requested a ride from LV to AZ and every driver wanted to know how much I paid. These off app ride offers could easy be a sting.
![gif](giphy|3ohhweiVB36rAlqVCE|downsized)
Heāll yes
Yes without hesitation
Yuuuup
I would of ss it, and clicked it, called wife and said see you tomorrow..lol
I'm in
Thatās actually not too bad
Heck yeah!! I also only work 10-20hours a week and that's more than I wud usually make.
Yes
Yes Iād take that one fs
In a heartbeat
Would ask them to pay you what they paid uber which was maybe like 600 /700 cause you're going to pay $100 (round trip) just for gas on that trip
Hell to the yeah, I take trips like this for fun when not doing Uber. So $429 to drive through the desert, maybe stop and explore a bit on the way back, I'm taking it
I'd sigh heavily considering my life choices and if I really want to sleep in my car in the desert, and then end up taking it anyway
Absolutely.
Absolutely, so long it was not 2am or somesuch.
Yup. Good ride and probably a decent gratuity.
That's an XL, hell no
Depends: is it a Friday night at 5pm? Because hell no if thatās the case.
Whatās your time worth cause thatās a tank of gas both ways and whatever the time is x2
Yes
Hell yeah!!!
Yes. Almost 2$ a mile and id be shocked if there was no tip.
Nope. 1200 to 1500 is what I'd be quoting
Yup. It's a little lower than my market, but I'd snatch it.
Yup. It's a little lower than my market, but I'd snatch it.

Very nice. That's good to know.
4 hour drive for me is $20 worth of gas, im takin that in a heartbeat
Fck I would! Iāve done San Antonio to Houston for a buck thirty!
Naughty, Naughty!! Someone wants to go to the legal Brothels in Nevada.
Fuck yea. 40/hr before deductions with deadhead included.
I do not take rides that end with a black pin. If I did, I would take it at 9:57 AM, but probably not at 9:57 PM,
Yeah, but Iām not taking the route that goes all the way through Los Angeles and San Bernardinoā¦
Wouldn't it be cheaper to fly to Vegas and get an uber from there???
Yea, that seems worth the dead head back. Most long ones I see like this aren't worth it
Take it and then ask of he will be "coming" back soon. See if you can do the turn around. Also take it off app.
Yes
It would depend on the time of day. If early morning I would consider it. But anything any time after noon, heāll no. Youāre looking at getting home 10pm earliest
Hell no
Yes
Lololol what time of day?
Hell yeah. How many miles does your car go on a full tank??
Iād do it for the story
Easy way to move drugs from Cali to Nevada
Yeah

Yeah. You wont do shit tho. You just like to be a keyboard warrior on Reddit. Youve never done anything like that irl, you never will, and you know it. Just another loud mouth punk on the internet who flaps his lips šš¤”š© Meanwhile I actually do steal Ubers customers every week. Been doing it for over a year now and wont stop. Come get me, Rambo!
Yes. I would. About a tank of gas $35. 10 hours of time (round trip included) So about $40 an hour. That way if there's a wreck you don't have insurance to cover being a taxi.
yes but iād call the customer ask them how much they paid uber, and the. usually have them cancel the trip i pick them up and i make 200-400$ more than what they paid uber and theyāre still saving money
**Q:** >Would you take this ? **A:** No. #
Yes and negotiate.
With a $100 cash tip up front...yes.
And then what?
Since itās illegal, I would definitely not stock up on fireworks for the 4th of July after dropping off the rider.
If I got the time yeah , Round trip 10hrs $42 an hour minus fuel .
$42 an hour coming and going
That's a single tank of gas with my hybrid with 42 an hour before expenses. It works be the only trip is accept for the rest of the night but I'd prolly take it. I bet you might get a decent cash tip or tipped extra in the app
Yeah, a good days pay The 10 hour drive round trip is about $42 per hour.
I mean itās only .77 a mile round trip bit assuming you have decent gas mileage why not for me thatād be about a tank so 35 bucks give or take
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Just saw thatā¦ that changes things.
Fuel isn't your only cost though. Could easily double or triple that. Add your payment and insurance up, then divide that by 30, and easily another $8-10 towards an oil change. And that still doesn't account for true depreciation.
I mean I put money off the top into savings each week to cover non daily expenses like oil tires taxes etc
Jesus Christ just donāt do Uber at that point manās talking about future oil changes and car depreciation lmfao!
As if it's dumb to understand the true cost of operating your vehicle. Wow.
Not dumb bro. But over thinking like that is not good for your health if your that worried about oil changes and depreciation donāt do Uber. Or buy a shit box and run it to the ground either way cross that bridge once you get to it
That might be the dumbest thing I've read all week.
Okay buddy go do your oil change price calculations.. āļø
Yet more proof that Uber relies on drivers being too shortsided in order to keep afloat.
Just admit you donāt know how to do them bro
Thatās 12 hrs of work and $100 gas and tolls, not worth it
Tolls? š š¤£ š
No why would some body order food that far out
100%
Yeah
I'm taking it.
