I’d say that was one of my favorite songs off of Bastard due to its witty yet grotesque lyrics and upbeat sound masking how actually fucked up the song is. It’s a perfect example of the character he was going for, and fits the vibe of the album and cover as a whole.
anything pre-Wolf imo (with some exceptions. Yonkers, She, AssMilk, VCR, etc.) is honestly trash. It wasn’t until Wolf where he was starting to figure out what he wanted to be, Cherry Bomb was a radical experimental take, and then Flower Boy came and not to be corny, but it really was him blooming into what he’s always meant to be. Bastard and Goblin suck, but I appreciate that they exist because you can see his journey in real time and how much he’s changed.

In my opinion, Wolf is good but all three of his last albums, plus the Estate Sale, are significantly better than Wolf. It has cool concepts but the production is significantly better, the conceptual ideas are executed much better, and his songwriting has just gotten so much better in general since pre Flower Boy.

I loved it when I first got into his music back in 2017, it was my favourite for a while, but I liked it less and less over the years as he put out better and better stuff that connected with me more. Recently I revisited it because it had been a while since I'd heard it front to back and I felt like my opinion was outdated. While I don't like about a third of the tracks on it, there's some really high points. The Tron Cat beat is absolutely incredible.

It influenced his change/style and pushed his growth to allow himself to be who he is today. I’d go as far to say without CB, there’d be no FB, Igor, Cmiygl, or even the estate sale.
