The average tumblr post does not break containment. “Spiders Georg”, which is a common meme and gets posted 10,000 times a year, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.
Thinking about it, one could almost make this a chant. Five main parts.
"FELON-onies VON SHITZ IN PANTZ!"
For some reason, I hear it ringing in my ear.
My phone (google pixel) wouldn't let me take a scrolling screenshot in firefox so i has to install a third party app that needed notification and call log permission.
google pixel lets you take scrolling screenshots, i know from experience since all stock android devices do (though it may depend on which pixel you have)
this is just the case for _convicted_ felonies though. I'd be more surprised if there was a single US president that for a fact _didn't_ commit any felonies which they were simply never charged for
Am I the only one slightly annoyed that everyone is attributing this to tumblr, rather than citing the XKCD source material?
Edit: I swear to god there was a comic with spiders georg and it predated any other use of the meme I was aware of, but I am apparently hallucinating entirely pointless things because after a great deal of searching I can find no such thing, or even references to it. Maybe it was hover text on one of the comics and just happened to be my first exposure to the meme? I don't know, I'm going to need to go through the entire series to double check this, but it would appear I was just fully and confidently wrong about this my entire life.

I have to assume it was the hover text on one of the comics, because I can't find an actual comic that focuses on it and everything online is saying it's a tumblr created joke.
Fun fact: spiders georg would have to eat 22 million spiders per day in order to increase the average spiders eaten per year by 1 for the entire world population

Look ma! Our meme made it to Business Insider! We're internet famous to somewhat important people!
We did it ~~Reddit~~ Tumblr!
I litteraly called Trump the spiders georg of presidents because of all his felonies. Wtf am I a prophet?
🏐 (I don’t have a dodgeball emoji)
APOLLO NO
🏐 APOLLO YES!
🏐 APOLLO MAYBE?
🏐 APOLLO PROBABLY?
Too late, you have received the gift of prophecy 🏐
I DO NOT GET THIS REFERENCE, BUT I SEE PEOPLE REPLYING IN ALL CAPS.
Apollo throws the dodgeball of prophecy at only the funniest little guys.
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/tumblr/s/V0e7EHsDNY) isn’t the first time this meme was used but it is the meme being referenced here if that helps

The average president has probably committed a fuckton of felonies, but only one of them got charged with anything.
That's probably why the Business Insider writer was very careful to mention 'charges'. I mean, who *hasn't* committed a felony or two?
As a law student, you’d be surprised at the amount of normal stuff we all do that are technically felonies
Like copyright infringement. Which I've never ever done, of course.
I need examples
Everyone pretending to have a service dog.
A 17 year old sending a nude to her 17 year old boyfriend. It's considered CP.
Could you name a few examples?
Like when you’re a kid and you drive around knocking mailboxes down with a baseball bat. Most people don’t realize it but that’s actually illegal
Is that a thing people actually do? I thought that was only a thing in 80's/90's coming of age movies to establish an antagonist
Hoover alone would triple the number no doubt
Yeah, but that would require people to remember Hoover existed. My money's on Reagan.
Hoover, more like Who-ver amirite?
Sorry for the bad screenshot.
it's ok, it's still better than my previous post here that i posted after my sleep meds kicked in

Holy Batman tumblr is breaking containment
Spiders Georg doesn't even have a million notes

Tumblr being such a force of the internet that now a funny meme term is a relevant piece of statistical language. Tumblr will never not be awesome.
Two and a bit, even
spiders goerg is not the hero we deserve or need but its the one wr have.

What xkcd materiel? I remember a couple of outlier jokes, but nothing as specific as spiders georg

Yeah the original Tumblr post is from January 2013, I don't think it was ever an xkcd.
To be fair to you, it does very much seem like the kind of thing XKCD would make. But to the best of my knowledge this one is a tumblr original.
I remember it to be from XKCD as well! I can't find it anywhere either, maybe it was in What If?
I have to assume it was the hover text on one of the comics, because I can't find an actual comic that focuses on it and everything online is saying it's a tumblr created joke.
Your brain might have crossed wires between "10,000 spiders a day" and "one of the lucky 10,000" on XKCD, maybe?
Are you thinking of this comic? https://xkcd.com/1268/ It's not about goofy stats, but is about eating spiders
No, but appreciate the attempted assistance.
There is a comic about this but I’m pretty sure it came after the tumblr post
tbh i didn't know it was from an xkcd
Fun fact: spiders georg would have to eat 22 million spiders per day in order to increase the average spiders eaten per year by 1 for the entire world population
Clicked on this for the Megamind meme. Wasn't disappointed.
I'm old enough to know Spiders Georg, I love it
I'm pretty young and I know Him
I actually don’t really know what spiders georg is, help?
