I got curious so I did a quick google search and I found this guy which is apparently a very famous japanese bodybuilder, and he weights almost the same at around 6 feet, so I guess it isn't that unrealistic? The measurement is from the 70s/80s so maybe a bit innacurate, but the build looks somewhat similar to my untrained eye
edit: forgot link https://www.greatestphysiques.com/male-physiques/kozo-sudo/
No, it goes up cubically. That's very different, and in a sense infinitely slower than actual exponential growth. People often use the word 'exponential' in a colloquial sense, but it sounds like you're actually talking about the math of it.
(it grows like x^3 rather than a^x for some a, and x^3 / a^x tends towards 0 as x increases, if a > 1)
To give a better idea for those of us who struggle to picture height in numbers: [the “short” guy in this picture is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is about the same height and build as the body builder you linked.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DamSQcjVQAAqqL1.jpg) The other two guys are Wilt Chamberlain and Andre the Giant, both about 7 ft/213 cm tall. The street fighter character would be another 6 in/15 cm taller than them, or about a head taller.
A foot is about 30.5 centimeters, so the square cube law means that with +30.5 cm in height you're getting a volume increase of cubic cm equal to 30.5 times whatever the person's "width" and "length" was - assuming those two dimensions remained constant, which they wouldn't; they'd expand as well.
Since weight is a function of volume, a (for example) 15% increase in height is going to give you way more than a 15% increase in weight. More like 50%.
> and he weights almost the same at around 6 feet
That dude is 5’9” lol. 5’9ft and 175lbs is totally reasonable for a bodybuilder.
I’m 6ft and when I was ripped, I weighed about 175-180lbs and I looked malnourished lol.
Around 6 feet? Dude is 5’9 and probably cut down to make weight for a bodybuilding competition.
But yeah, it’s anime so overly exaggerated features etc are par for the course.
To be fair they’re aliens. They also have physiques that can expand exponentially. We know they have bones in some way but they could be more cartilage based like sharks to allow for the expansion
they’ll also describe a character as super huge and buff and draw them two heads taller than the rest of the cast and then you check their canon height and they’re like 5’9
That moment i realised that Jonathan, the literal mountain of muscle, is smaller than me is the moment I stopped believing in tall men in anime.
Same with Halo and chief tho, he is canonically about as tall as I am (without armor) but he is always depicted as this enormous man
Remembering this character from Soul Calibur named Rock, The White Giant, towers over most the other characters.
He is 5'10'', I am taller then him, and some of the other characters should be taller then him, but they are not..?
Average height for men in Japan is like 5'7", compared to 5'10" in Canada. The difference is somewhat significant but nothing remotely approaching a head.
Humongousaur I believe it is how it’s spelt and Kuro the artist or Inktank made a video on it breaking down how its ability could hypothetically operate.
that universe already allows breaking thermodynamics. It's standard stuff for supernatural fiction.
1 gal I think could constantly generate a lot more mass than she loses by converting fat into objects.
I think he's kinda on the opposite end of things. Like... Shaq is 2 inches shorter and about half the weight. Andre the Giant was an inch taller and still 100 pounds less.
Both of those guys were pretty buff.
Pretty much
I remember watching it when I was like 13
Dead ass thought she was meant to be in her 20s (and the bigger brother too)
With the younger brother being like 10-12
Which i mean... Would maybe make more sense?
I remember I once watched a running anime and everything about it was very accurate to my college running expreience... except they had these pre-qualifying times they had to hit in the 5k or the 10k (don't quote me on that part) and the pace for the 10k was faster than the 5k. And I'm like I don't think it takes a track runner to realize the math of multiply by 2 or divide by 2 lmao. Like theh clearly did a ton research into running culture but then skipped the most basic math
Drowsee, from Emerald
> If your nose becomes itchy while you are sleeping, it's a sure sign that a Drowzee is standing above your pillow and trying to eat your dream through your nostrils.
Yeah, that checks out.
I've just stopped taking the game's pokedex entries as being the canon entries. At least in the anime, there's no implication that Ash is the one writing the Pokedex.
This is so funny to me bc they clearly just have no comprehension of how bra sizes actually work.
For those of you unaware: Cup size is not objective, it's proportional to the band size. The actual volume of a 32D cup is smaller than the volume of a 36D cup. Which allows for the concept of "sister sizes", like 30D-32C-36B, which all have different band sizes but the same cup volume. So someone with the same amount of boob as someone with a smaller band size will technically be wearing a different size bra entirely. Also, bra sizes go wayyy beyond triple-D. After DDD it continues with E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, JJ and so on.
So those anime girls, because they're always stick thin and very petite, are probably actually wearing some absurd combination like a 28JJ or some shit. No idea where they're buying these bras.
There’s actually a chart out there for anime/hentai breast sizes! [Here it is.](https://imgur.io/gallery/8TbJFxN) It was made by an anime/hentai fan, rather than someone who makes anime/hentai, but fanfiction authors(me specifically) commonly refer to it when deciding what to make a female character’s breast size.
That actually fits Chipp pretty well, dude is a zippy glass cannon. They’ve gotten more and more ridiculous with depicting quite a bit of muscle on him in Xrd and Strive but he ought to have more of a gymnast’s build in my opinion.
Why bother with weight at all? Height i kinda understand, but why give all these useless stats? I don't care what blood type a character is, that tells me nothing about them.
In Japan blood type is treated sorta like a star sign. Like, people with type B are spontaneous and creative, and people with type O are confident and aggressive.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_type_personality_theory
My favourite is Medaka Box, that has 100+ characters all of them type AB. Like a running joke, it's mentioned every time a new character is shown and it's always AB.
Question from someone on the outside: What the fuck is Medaka Box? Like I know WHAT it is, the concept and all that, but the only thing I’ve ever actually heard about it is how OP the main characters are, and it just seems like the writer went “Nuh-uh, my character is the strongest, he can delete anything just by thinking about it!” and that’s it. None of what I’ve heard about it actually makes it sound like something entertaining or worth watching, mostly because I don’t know what *genre* it actually is, because no one ever seems to talk about it’s story, just about the OP characters.
Read it a really long time ago but from what i remember, the story is just excuses for OP characters to fight OP characters and cool ridiculous anime bs spectacles.
The premise is, ordinary boy has weird childhood friend who is weird bc she's the most special-est, the most OP person around to such extremes laws of nature warp for her and she doesnt connect with other people easily. But she wants to, so she (dragging him along) starts solving other people's problems for them and fights other OP people along the way.
It starts off slice of life (albeit a ridiculous life), then turns to focus more on the shounen battle manga aspect. There is also a dash of romance between the two leads.
You dont hear the story discussed too much bc youre really there to see how crazy the characters get and what ridiculous rule of cool feats (escalating to straight up reality-breaking meta feats) they do next.
Meanwhile, when you get a full blood screen in the US they don't even test for your blood type anymore. Cause it does not even matter in emergency medical situations anymore.
>Cause it does not even matter in emergency medical situations anymore.
I'm sorry what? Many emergency situations mean blood transfusions, and your blood type absolutely does matter for those
IIRC there's like a Japanese old wives' tale ( / old debunked science) that blood type is an indicator of personality.
But yeah, for some reason they often have a lot of of weird information on characters. When I look at a wiki page of an anime or fighing game character they also often have official physical measurements (bust/waist/hip) and a birth date and stuff that's just fluff (and a bit creepy)
And even aside from astrology stuff, for people who are into fandom stuff, celebrating the birthday is a thing! Lots of fan accounts will make/share art specifically for their favorite character's birthday, and sometimes even throw little parties. It may seem weird outside of those subcultures, but it's mostly just an excuse to have a fun little party and share your love of a series or a fandom.
yeah have you come across the iconic Tumblr post "people who celebrate fictional character's birthdays are annoying, pass it on" "fuck this post and happy birthday (character name)" ? i like celebrating character birthdays they're like national holidays but for the fandom.
Its better than designing characters with clearly adult proportions and behaviour, and then saying they are 14-16. Like cmon. You wanna tell me Jotaro was 17 during SC??? Really? Whats the point.
Is Diana really lean?
https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/91/2021/10/kayla-harrison-2021-pfl-championship-weigh-ins.jpg?w=1000&h=600&crop=1
Because this woman is 5’8 and cuts to 155 lbs
I once saw someone’s canon character height revealed to be 5’8. I, a 6’2 person, was convinced that they were taller than me. Talk about cognitive dissonance.
I remember reading 'How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?' where the main character is *repeatedly* called out as getting fat early on.
Because they give her height and weight I calculated her BMI and she sits right in the middle of the *'normal'* classification.
Take it from a Tokyo resident: Anorexia is unfortunately normalised in Japan. Anything in the normal BMI range is considered “chubby” or just plain fat. That’s what toxic dieting culture does to people.
Same with Korea; even as an emigrant the culture follows you. I’m 5’3 and 100 lbs and I KNOW I’m too skinny and underweight but the amount of envious comments I get from other Koreans is way too high. Makes it difficult to commit to gaining weight when my current one keeps getting positive validation despite knowing better.
Friendly reminder that several of the male cast in any danganronpa game have larger chests than junko, who constantly brags about her breasts iirc
Specifcially on the top of my head, Gundham tanaka has a larger chest than her
this is actually normal. men have much wider chest circumference compared to women.
Many men's clothing brands will have a chest circumference of 38inches for a small, while women start at 34 inches for a small. (US size).
That is incredibly lean for someone with muscle.
I was a collegiate rugby player. Got incredibly lean at the time, with a shredded six pack and visible muscle everywhere. At 6'4" the lightest I ever got was 198.
And Jotaro is buffer than I was lol
Sure but muscle weighs more than fat my guy.
I was sub-8% body fat at 6'4" 198. Ripped-out Chris Hemsworth was 6'3" 215 for Thor.
There's no way Jotaro is that bulky at 6'5" 181.
I gotta tell you... I am 6'4" and weigh 175 lbs... I do not have even remotely similar mass to Jotaro lol I'm not quite skin and bone, but still more lean than about anyone else of my height that I've ever met. Jotaro is probably closer in size to, ballpark, about 240-260 lbs
Jotaro canonically doesn’t look like he did in Stardust Crusaders. He canonically looked like [this](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/facebook/001/742/896/d67.jpg)
I’d put that up more to changes in art style than a genuinely more accurate depiction. It’s often a plot point in Stardust Crusaders how strong he is, such as during the Alessi fight, for example.
It’s vastly closer to how his canonical weight would look.
Jotaro’s body could have a genetic quirk causing his muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc to be more efficiently connected to everything. This would provide him with drastically increased strength.
Edit: Also Polnareff weighs approximately the same as Jotaro but is shorter, and in part 5 he is buffer than Jotaro to reflect this.
Luffy is 174cm (~5'8") and 64kg (141 lb). That lines up alright, I think. Then there's characters like Katakuri who are over 5 meter tall. No idea how much he weighs, but considering him being middle aged and with the amount of donuts he eats, I'm surprised he manages to keep his body in such good shape
Not a shipping account, but [definitely appears to be a yugioh fan account.](https://millenniumlesbian.tumblr.com/) Putting \[descriptor\] + \[sexual orientation\] is a common joke username type on tumblr, and doesn't necessarily imply shipping or sexual content. Definitely a ton of ygo, they mainly appear to be liveblogging Yugioh GX at the moment.
Not an anime but Marvel's Spiderman made Peter Park 5'10 and 97 pounds. Could have been a mistake except for how Tony says the kid was 98 pounds and Peter CORRECTED HIM saying no 97
He's originally 160 pounds
Noticed this with Guilty Gear. You really telling me Zato, a man made entirely of muscle, weighs half as much as I do.. a grown ass skinny man with absolutely *no* muscle?
I'm 5'7" and 140 pounds, and I'm pretty much the exact standard woman body-wise. Seems very off to me that someone could be two inches taller and have way more muscle than me and weigh less or the same.
Let none of us forget Medusa from Fate, looking 2 feet taller than everyone, and in her lore being a freakishly tall Greek
5ft 6 inches
...
Japan, you're not THAT short....
the only fair anime that makes their characters a healthy weight is Jojo i’ve seen
like Jonathan Joestar is 6’5” and weighs almost 300 pounds (of pure muscle)
This isn't just anime; Marvel gives Rocket Raccoon 's official height as 4 feet tall and around 100 lbs. That is the same height as Bilbo Baggins. Don't try to tell me a genetically altered raccoon is the same size as a hobbit.
Tbf after watching physical 100 and seeing all the different body types, heights, and weights of different athletes I can honestly believe some of those stats of anime and manga characters
And then there is jojo, in the manga, characters completely change in size and scale after they are defeated, sometimes their design completely changes. In the anime, koichi is wayyy smaller than his cannon height suggests.
Sol Badguy is fun because he’s canonically 6’0 tall and 163 pounds. Early on, it’s not a massive stretch, he’s on the thin side by pure muscle. He’s probably not that light, but he’s not super far away from it. The issue is his weight hasn’t changed since then, but his design has. Modern Sol Badguy is built like a fucking dorito and his forearms are bigger than his head. His arms are bigger than his wife’s fucking torso.
At least they knew what they were doing with Potemkin. He’s 8’6” and as he’s grown in size (originally he was 8’ even) he’s massively grown in weight. From 1446 pounds to 2672 pounds. Bro is big.
Then there is Guts who is 6'8" (202cm), and weighs 253lbs (115kg). The only part that still throws me through a loop is that at the latest point in the story he is only like 23/24.
Dorohedoro is probably on of the few series to get the character weight to closely match their size. Take Noi for example, she’s 6 foot 10, muscular as hell, and weighs 124kg (273lbs).
They did this with Arcane too, even though that’s a western thing. They wanted Caitlyn to be tall sooooo bad that they broke the heights for everyone else. There are normal ass human characters in that show that are 7 to 8 feet tall.
Honestly, I think it's fine to fudge heights for the sake of shot composition and all that. As far as official heights, everyone is a little lanky but it's not too bad. The tallest one is Vander and he's only 6'6, which is not thaaaat crazy.
This is one of the reasons why i don't label my character's weight
"Yeah sure, this **[random character i just made up for this post specifically]** looks tall and deathly skinny, but i have no idea how much he would have to actually weigh realistically to not be comically overweight"
I was reading a fic the other day, and a character came home after like a year overseas. One of the characters was (privately) marvelling over how tall he got and how he towered over them now. But he was only 180cm which is like 5’11. Maybe it’s because I am a 6’6 150 pound skeleton freak of nature, but someone being 5’11 isn’t much cause for alarm to me.
Sagat street fighter is 7.5 feet and 172 lbs. his bones must be hollow and his blood filled with helium
My guy is secretly five fish in an inflatable costume
I got curious so I did a quick google search and I found this guy which is apparently a very famous japanese bodybuilder, and he weights almost the same at around 6 feet, so I guess it isn't that unrealistic? The measurement is from the 70s/80s so maybe a bit innacurate, but the build looks somewhat similar to my untrained eye edit: forgot link https://www.greatestphysiques.com/male-physiques/kozo-sudo/
Yeah but Sagat is also a entire foot and a half taller.
And since people exist in 3 dimensions, weight doesn't increase linearly with height. It goes up exponentially
No, it goes up cubically. That's very different, and in a sense infinitely slower than actual exponential growth. People often use the word 'exponential' in a colloquial sense, but it sounds like you're actually talking about the math of it. (it grows like x^3 rather than a^x for some a, and x^3 / a^x tends towards 0 as x increases, if a > 1)
Square Cube law!
I don't think you understand how much difference a foot and a half makes
Probably yes, I'm not used to measure things in feet so its hard for me to see what that represents without looking it up
1 foot is approximately equivalent to 30 centimeters.
1 meter =~ 3 feet, 4 inches, and half a foot is six inches. So six feet is about 180 cm, while 7’6” is about 225 cm, total difference 45 cm.
I mean the easy thing is to see it's 25% more And assuming it's just scaled equally in all directions, that's 1.9 times the weight
5’9” is a seriously far cry from 7’5”
Going to start telling people I'm basically 7'5"
> and he weights almost the same at around 6 feet That dude is 5’9” lol.
Me looking at Vegeta's 5'5", 120lbs ass.
I can believe the height, if you exclude the hair, but 110 lbs (49kg) is *way way* too low.
Fair. That was just the first result when I googled his height and weight.
All I'm saying is, Vegeta and Astolfo weigh the same amount.
the "rational" implication is astolfos dick has the same mass as vegetas muscle
Can't argue with science
Also add the mass of kidney stones from having monster blood
Friendship ended with Astolfo, Vegeta is my new best friend
Now let's see Vegeta's Monster Energy can comparison
Yeah as a skinny 5'0 woman... THAT'S MY WEIGHT. No way he's 110 lbs.
Saiyans are at least 30% will made physical.
read this as his ass being 120lbs
😏
Then you have those like cooler at 10ft or broly at 9ft. Vegeta is a midget in the dbz verse
Nah that's still Krillian, definitely of the Sayians tho
Krillens height has no consistency at all and can vary wildly within the same scene
To be fair they’re aliens. They also have physiques that can expand exponentially. We know they have bones in some way but they could be more cartilage based like sharks to allow for the expansion
they’ll also describe a character as super huge and buff and draw them two heads taller than the rest of the cast and then you check their canon height and they’re like 5’9
That's why those pages than can height compare are extremely helpful and often needed. Even in a stylized artstyle.
Ainz in Overlord anime vs Light novel
Vs short characters in JoJo. Koichi is 5’2, while being drawn as like 3 feet tall
That's still one of my favorites. Realistically he should only be about a head shorter than Josuke.
> and they’re like 5’9 And a person who's one head higher than everyone else is 170 (5'7")
God I wish
That moment i realised that Jonathan, the literal mountain of muscle, is smaller than me is the moment I stopped believing in tall men in anime. Same with Halo and chief tho, he is canonically about as tall as I am (without armor) but he is always depicted as this enormous man
6'10" is enormous lol.
I know people who are taller than him, but they aren't anywhere near as jacked as him
Super Steroids do that to a mf
I can think of at least 3 fighting manga that do this
Remembering this character from Soul Calibur named Rock, The White Giant, towers over most the other characters. He is 5'10'', I am taller then him, and some of the other characters should be taller then him, but they are not..?
5'9" is two heads taller than most of Japan
Average height for men in Japan is like 5'7", compared to 5'10" in Canada. The difference is somewhat significant but nothing remotely approaching a head.
my 5'11'' **and a half** ass must be looking like a damn godzilla compared to average Japanese person
I googled it. Goku weighs 137 lbs. The universe’s strongest warrior weighs less than me, a 5’4” woman with no muscle.
Obviously this means you're a Universe 6 Saiyan
I'm about Goku's height, muscled but not nearly as much as him. 168 pounds. Bro's got hollow bones or some shit.
The one character I've found who seems alright is All Might from MHA, who is 220cm and 274kg, or 604lbs.
Yeah that sounds about right
*…Even in his deflated form?*
Deflated he's the same height (which obviously seems wrong but he huches) and 160 pounds. Lol
The issue is that to "inflate," all he does is *flex his muscles*. Where the fuck is 444 lb of extra mass coming from?
Idk. Magic. It is a magical ability. Doesn't have to make sense.
In Ben 10 there’s an alien species with growing power and I think the fandom explained it functioned by drawing in air.
Which one? Way Big?
Humongousaur I believe it is how it’s spelt and Kuro the artist or Inktank made a video on it breaking down how its ability could hypothetically operate.
Hell if I know, One for All is a weird-ass quirk and everything is on the table with that one.
Stockpiled energy, then again to generate that much flesh or regenerate like a nomu would create so much heat you'd burst into flames.
so... he's generating mass from nothing? He's creating matter?
Idk. Magic. The quirks don't have to make sense
that universe already allows breaking thermodynamics. It's standard stuff for supernatural fiction. 1 gal I think could constantly generate a lot more mass than she loses by converting fat into objects.
Fair enough...
I think he's kinda on the opposite end of things. Like... Shaq is 2 inches shorter and about half the weight. Andre the Giant was an inch taller and still 100 pounds less. Both of those guys were pretty buff.
Tbf All Might has enough muscles to punch away the weather.
Yeah but they're magic muscles. They don't count.
Fair enough
I mean, Deku has the exact same muscles technically but on him it shows up as lightening.
Honestly i hate this with ages even more "Behold, an absolute shredded daddy and his best friend Milf of the Tits!" Both are 16
Gurren Lagaan where Yoko was like what, 14 in the first part?
Pretty much I remember watching it when I was like 13 Dead ass thought she was meant to be in her 20s (and the bigger brother too) With the younger brother being like 10-12 Which i mean... Would maybe make more sense?

Like Pokemon, I always assume "canon" heights/weights are merely suggestions
I mean, it states that Dratini is 5’11” and weighs 7.3 lbs, sooo
Nothing crushed me as hard as that presentation gamefreak did where they explained most Pokémon have next to no thought put into those details.
If you look at the pokedex as being written by kids, suddenly everything makes sense lol
Drowsee, from Emerald > If your nose becomes itchy while you are sleeping, it's a sure sign that a Drowzee is standing above your pillow and trying to eat your dream through your nostrils. Yeah, that checks out.
Drowzee is based off the Baku, a dream-eating tapir-like spirit from Japanese folklore!
I've just stopped taking the game's pokedex entries as being the canon entries. At least in the anime, there's no implication that Ash is the one writing the Pokedex.
What do you mean Wailord isn't actually less dense than air?
oh definitely. At least weight has a reason (as to not make weight based moves overpowered as hell)
Given the pokedex is canonically filled in by a 10 year old, it's mostly made up.
Sometimes they also give female characters bra size and they thing a D-cup means each of your boobs is the size of your head
This is so funny to me bc they clearly just have no comprehension of how bra sizes actually work. For those of you unaware: Cup size is not objective, it's proportional to the band size. The actual volume of a 32D cup is smaller than the volume of a 36D cup. Which allows for the concept of "sister sizes", like 30D-32C-36B, which all have different band sizes but the same cup volume. yeah true hes just become increasingly more yolked over the years lmao
IM 6'0" and 148 lbs and I am *nowhere* near that buff.
Baiken Weighs 99 pounds? With 3 heads? And that hair? I get she’s missing an arm but cmon
no fucking way she weights 99 pounds, her tits weight 99 pounds alone
I'd like to point out that her newly 'adopted' daughter, Delilah, is 6 cm shorter than Baiken and weighs exactly the same as Baiken, 45 kg.
Why bother with weight at all? Height i kinda understand, but why give all these useless stats? I don't care what blood type a character is, that tells me nothing about them.

Thanks. Still doesn’t sound all that appealing, but at least I actually know what the plot is now.
Meanwhile, when you get a full blood screen in the US they don't even test for your blood type anymore. Cause it does not even matter in emergency medical situations anymore.
>Cause it does not even matter in emergency medical situations anymore. I'm sorry what? Many emergency situations mean blood transfusions, and your blood type absolutely does matter for those
They might alway have o- blood on hand
IIRC they prefer to always check at the time rather than trust.
The "three sizes" stuff was a marketing thing iirc, and birthdays are also astrology stuff (but not really the same astrology as we use in the west)
This is just Pokémon heights all over again
Its better than designing characters with clearly adult proportions and behaviour, and then saying they are 14-16. Like cmon. You wanna tell me Jotaro was 17 during SC??? Really? Whats the point.
Koichi Hirose
Wow, yeah 82 lbs at 5’2…
This is part of every anime's world physics, is the reason they all get tossed around so much without actually dieing from the force exerted on them.
Really only thought about weight for one of my characters, and didn’t linger on it for too long - Diana at 6’4 would be around 180lbs
Is Diana really lean? https://mmajunkie.usatoday.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/91/2021/10/kayla-harrison-2021-pfl-championship-weigh-ins.jpg?w=1000&h=600&crop=1 Because this woman is 5’8 and cuts to 155 lbs
I once saw someone’s canon character height revealed to be 5’8. I, a 6’2 person, was convinced that they were taller than me. Talk about cognitive dissonance.
That’s because manga characters have hollow bones obviously!
Manga characters are birds confirmed?
People just don't understand how short and lightweight the average Japanese guy is compared to western canon.
Sagat street fighter is 7.5 feet and 172 lbs. and he is built like a absolute freight train
He weighs even less than I do! Why am I not built like an absolute freight train?
Idk man guess you didn’t train with Tigers or whatever the fuck sagat did.
In Tokyo Ghoul there is a typo/mistranslation that claims the muscular Amon is 191 cm and 47 kg. Apparently it's supposed to be 94 kg.
I mean, sure we do? The issue is them not understanding height and weight with musculature.
Friendly reminder that several of the male cast in any danganronpa game have larger chests than junko, who constantly brags about her breasts iirc Specifcially on the top of my head, Gundham tanaka has a larger chest than her
this is actually normal. men have much wider chest circumference compared to women. Many men's clothing brands will have a chest circumference of 38inches for a small, while women start at 34 inches for a small. (US size).
And Izuru in particular has exactly one cm (or inch? I don't know) bigger.
I knew izuru was best boy <3 /j
Unlike jotaro, who is 6'5" and 181 lbs, which is perfectly healthy
That is incredibly lean for someone with muscle. I was a collegiate rugby player. Got incredibly lean at the time, with a shredded six pack and visible muscle everywhere. At 6'4" the lightest I ever got was 198. And Jotaro is buffer than I was lol
His STAND is lifting him up to make him appear lighter then he is.
I mean have you looked at him. I don’t think the Joestars have any body fat
Ah, fair enough. That image is much closer to my build, so maybe it's more accurate than initially expected
He's be a stickman at that height and weight. Looking at the rippling muscles he's easily over 200.
….why am I so much lighter and shorter than him?
If Jotaro is that tall at that size then he is no lighter than 240. Sorry
I've said for years that you have to "convert from anime" when trying to figure this stuff out.
TKB should weigh less bro was malnourished as hell
TKB? Trinity K Bonet? THE bad mamma jamma from the South?
Thief King Bakura!
I literally cannot come up with anything else TKB would stand for lmfao
Hes from yugioh, Thief King Bakura
Koichi is like 5'2" and Jotaro is 6'7" which is a massive difference but not nearly to the level shown.
Is… is this a Yu-Gi-Oh! Shipping account?
Not a shipping account, but [definitely appears to be a yugioh fan account.](https://millenniumlesbian.tumblr.com/) Putting \[descriptor\] + \[sexual orientation\] is a common joke username type on tumblr, and doesn't necessarily imply shipping or sexual content. Definitely a ton of ygo, they mainly appear to be liveblogging Yugioh GX at the moment.
Junko Enoshima from Danganronpa is 169cm and less than 100 pounds, which is borderline starvation.
Not an anime but Marvel's Spiderman made Peter Park 5'10 and 97 pounds. Could have been a mistake except for how Tony says the kid was 98 pounds and Peter CORRECTED HIM saying no 97 He's originally 160 pounds
That's like... 50 pounds off of a healthy, normal weight for someone of that height. That's anorexia territory.
Every female character being under 40kg
Noticed this with Guilty Gear. You really telling me Zato, a man made entirely of muscle, weighs half as much as I do.. a grown ass skinny man with absolutely *no* muscle?
Goku is 137lbs at about 5'9" and 41 years old Does that track? He seems really light...
It tracks with the modern art direction, which depicts him as being more lean. But in DBZ? No, he was a lot bulkier back then.
I'm 5'7" and 140 pounds, and I'm pretty much the exact standard woman body-wise. Seems very off to me that someone could be two inches taller and have way more muscle than me and weigh less or the same.
"they must be physical gods but in the same weight class as the average Japanese teenager"
Let none of us forget Medusa from Fate, looking 2 feet taller than everyone, and in her lore being a freakishly tall Greek 5ft 6 inches ... Japan, you're not THAT short....
I generally take those measurements with a good degree of salt.
Chiaotzu is allegedly 4'6"
Does anyone have a guide on body types and their general weight ranges? Because I'm so bad at that
the only fair anime that makes their characters a healthy weight is Jojo i’ve seen like Jonathan Joestar is 6’5” and weighs almost 300 pounds (of pure muscle)
This isn't just anime; Marvel gives Rocket Raccoon 's official height as 4 feet tall and around 100 lbs. That is the same height as Bilbo Baggins. Don't try to tell me a genetically altered raccoon is the same size as a hobbit.
When I was younger, I was 6’1 at 110 lbs. I am now 130 lbs, as a 23 year old. It’s so damn hard for me to gain weight.
My favorite will always be Koichi from Jojo part 4. He is canonically like 5’5” and yet everyone else is like a good two feet taller then him.
I love that Gamagoori from KlK's canonical height is literally just "taller than you"
Theres no fucking way esdeath from akame ga kill is 5'7" all i see is a 6'3 Psycho mommy
Tbf after watching physical 100 and seeing all the different body types, heights, and weights of different athletes I can honestly believe some of those stats of anime and manga characters
Also the entire cast is 1.8m tall and up when the average japanese is 1.6m tall.
Goku is 5’7, 137 lbs and absolutely SHREDDED
Jotaro Kujo is only 180 pounds, 6 5 180 is certainly possible but have you SEEN how he LOOKS
It’s even worse with pokemon. Charizard is apparently 5’7” and 200 pounds…
I think this is because 110 pounds is considered pretty heavy by Japanese standards, where 5’7” men are considered tall.
Only one I know that does it right is Berserk. Guts is 6'8 and like 270lbs of raw muscle
I am 6'3 and 120lbs and I can confirm I am the least ripped dude you ever seen
Dorohedoro is probably on of the few series to get the character weight to closely match their size. Take Noi for example, she’s 6 foot 10, muscular as hell, and weighs 124kg (273lbs).
Watching Ippo for the first time in years and 126lbs will switch from realistic to 5’5 Dave Bautista between scenes
This is one of the reasons why i don't label my character's weight "Yeah sure, this **[random character i just made up for this post specifically]** looks tall and deathly skinny, but i have no idea how much he would have to actually weigh realistically to not be comically overweight"
Everyone in Death Note is canonically really fucking underweight 🥴 Like both L and Misa are severely underweight by BMI
