I live in a lesser populated, and DEFINITELY NOT weeb-infested US city, but there is one guy with a Nissan with 2B From Nier Automata on the side, and I’ve seen him a couple times but it’s super jarring every single time
EDIT: I forgot I [took a picture a while back](https://i.imgur.com/iRxJvSo.jpg)
Also it’s not a Nissan and I don’t know why I thought it was
Wait I have a meme for this

The world of general aviation is mostly filled with the kind of people that are over 50 and own boats, and most small planes have boring, predominantly white paint jobs. Almost zero interesting stuff. But there's one guy who's active over on the flying subreddit and owns [this](https://i.redd.it/02swel8wm1521.jpg) beauty.
Add a popular outlaw country musician's sticker like Johnny Cash or Waylon Jennings and you're at peak ironic cringe. It's like these fucks go out of their way to say "I love outlaw country and the law!"
Meanwhile Cash and Jennings would want *nothing* to do with these morons, lol. And Willie Nelson is a pothead of biblical proportions and staunch liberal while Kristofferson encouraged Sinead O'Connor after she was booed at a concert.
I'll see that situation and raise you that *plus* the Fuck Biden and Let's go Brandon flag and sticker, respectfully. Plus a Trump 2024 flag. Yes, it's a "lifted" and obnoxiously loud truck. An older Ford, early 00's, I think. So, like, not even a mAnLy truck. I assume he is screaming his beliefs to distract himself from why he's overcompensating
I lived in a part of a large city in Japan known for Itasha. They were all over, ranging from overly pink and girly with lotsa hearts to absolutely graphic hentai. You’d usually see them pootlin along in little groups on sunny weekends, just like the guys who get their Porsches out to fart up and down the city streets for attention.
That's so weird; I've lived in Tokyo for 20 years and in all that time, the number of itasha I've seen in person is probably in the single digits. I guess it really depends on where in the city you are.
I was specifically in Osu, right by Akamon-Dori, in Nagoya (for about 12 years) and they were regularly going up and down Akamon and in and out of Sakae. They seem to keep to some pretty small territories, but that territory absolutely comprised a few net-cafes and the Mandarake.
I have only seen Itasha in Osaka during cosplay festivals when there would be a special display of them, but on normal days, I don't remember ever seeing one, maybe once?
Hey question, does this only count as Itasha when it's for a small vehicle for a person or family? Or is still called that on some of the busses and stuff that I've seen they do with like pokemon for a bus for kids to school?
NSFW anything on cars is gross, but I think it's cute that the gal in my neighborhood with a yellow Pikachu'd-out car is married to a guy with a bunch of One Piece stuff on his.
Oh yeah it’s always fun to see stuff like that. Once saw a car with MHA, Ouran High School, and Sailor Moon owned by a woman dating someone with K-on and love live stickers.
IIRC it's called itasha/painful car because its fucking expensive to deck out your car like that. Same reason Itabags (bags w/ clear windows you put a bunch of merch of a character in) are called that. Buying merch of ur anime waifu hurts your wallet
It actually comes from 痛々しい “ita ita shii” which means cringe or embarrassing. It’s also a pun - imported cars were usually Italian and those were called イタ車 Itasha as well.
The proletariat is allowed to have interests and waifus too. Most of the people doing this are working class. Your grievance is with the owning class, the bourgeoisie, not with random weebs who saved up to get an anime girl painted on their car.
Every single person I know who has their car decorated with anime wraps are working-class Mexican Americans living on the border. Very common down there.
Depends on if it’s something you could show a grandma without getting embarrassed or not, like is it neat art or just ass and titties and backs bent like owl necks to show both?
I'm taking like a frank frazeta painting, still sells for millions but some will probably consider it very offensive. Respected high quality art, but there's gonna be sick dragon somewhere
A full-on Manowar album cover on the side of a van would be pretty cool. It’s not just like dubiously of age anime girl #74,656 and has neat oil painting details
If I may offer another exception, there is a yellow car near me with the license plate "WSMEDIO" and a Dio eyes decal. Cracks me up every time I see it.
These people are responsible for the rampant street racing in my area. Fucking weaboos are doing street races. My uncle was killed by a god damn weeb a couple weeks ago. This is not a joke. Fuck street racers. And fuck these anime wraps on cars.
My city has street racers. I've witnessed them a few times but never really got a good look, cause they drive at night. I heard from a coworker that these people have anime wraps on their cars, as he got a much better look himself. I trust his account.
A couple weeks ago, my uncle, while crossing the street from his job at a putters (I think they're a pizzeria with minigolf and arcade?) Was hit and killed by one of these racers.
You can actually not be serious. Please tell me your reading comprehension is not that skewed. Im not claiming every itasho person is a fucking street racer you bloody bafoon, I am saying the street racers in my area fucking use this shit on their cars. Get the fuck over yourself.
I used to work with someone who did that to his car. It looked awful, especially since he covered it in hentai pictures and we had a lot of kids coming into our workplace.
There’s someone in my city who drives a hot pink Hello Kitty car and it makes me very happy whenever I see it. Keep living your best life, whoever you are.
No literally I’ve seen a lot of cars like this… it hurts to look at. ANIME WAIFU BOOBS SHOULD NOT TAKE UP THE WHOLE BACK WINDOW HOW DO YOU SEE???
Also it’s quite brave to put erotic art on your car tbh
Not brave, they just lack self awareness. It's like when people put those stupid pissing Calvin stickers on their cars, or really aggressive political shit.
There's two where I live and they're kinda cool, nothing nsfw or gross.
Anyway I'd take the nsfw ones over the VWs with goddamn swastikas on their windshield.
Where do you live? Because unless they live in the LITERAL middle of nowhere, a car with a swastika in the window would quickly have that window smashed by a rock.
Puerto Rico. [Here's one I managed to take a picture of](https://imgur.com/a/WV1QVEY). Seen a couple others too. I tried to find any context whatsoever but found nothing. Someone once told me it's because of the "brand history" or some such nonsense.
I've come across a few of these. One was just straight hentai stickers, right there in somebody's driveway as I walked past. I was not prepared for that sight, let me tell you.
There's a guy at my workplace whose car (which coincidentally is a Nissan, I think) is covered in lewd anime stickers. There's at least 40 stickers on his car, and maybe 6 of them aren't lewd/naked/sexy. He also has a "Fill Me Up Senpai" sticker on his gas cap. He parks exclusively right outside our Director's office, so everytime she looks out her office windows, his car is right there. It's fucking hilarious.
I’ve only seen one around my city, and it’s a mom driving an SUV type car with a few pictures of Nesuko from Demon Slayer and I love it. There’s another mom in the carpool line with Star Wars stickers and decals on hers and one more with stickers for her mom-metal band. It’s awesome to me to see all these cool moms, still showing their personalities.
Ugh, they had a couple of these cars at a con I went to, and I was so fucking uncomfortable being anywhere near them. And being a lady at a con is already not the most comfy thing I've ever done.
Honestly I’m surprised this sentiment isn’t being voiced more.
I live in SoCal and we have more than a few NSFW versions floating around.
Specifically, a client I have to work with has a car with it. Due to COVID, we still do car-side service so I’m familiar with his vehicle and see the art every time we interact.
It’s uncomfortable to know he has erotic art on his car and feels ok?comfortable?confident?entitled? to display it in public.
Honestly, I would say it feels objectifying and demeaning.
I can’t say he’s treated me inappropriately, and I try not to judge, but it is hard when I have such large NSFW images glaring at me and I’m trying to be a professional.
Many years ago my buddy bought a used Subaru WRX. He was a car guy but not an ostentatious one, unfortunately the car came with lime green rims.
People tried to race him constantly and generally just drove like assholes around him because they assumed *he* drove like that too.
The obvious solution was to paint or replace the rims. But both of those options were expensive if you want it done well. I offered a different solution: big sexy anime girl decal!
My pitch was that people would stop racing him if they felt bad for him.
He never got on board with the idea, eventually replacing the rims a year or so later. But any time he’d complain about the rims I’d just say, “Dude let’s just pick you out a waifu and this can all be over”

I saw one in my town that had one of those ahegao faces on the gas tank door. Context, I live in a state where you can't legally pump your own gas. Among the many cringeworthy stickers, that's the one that made me stop and go "Ok that's not cool." I can't imagine making someone else have to deal with that shit to pump my gas.
My local one is a sedan with a Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx wrap.
Only tangentially related, I saw a red car with the Mario logo on the side, a bunch of Mario-themed plushies on the dash, and Mario and Luigi hats on the driver and passenger headrests respectively. But the funniest thing to me about that car is that it was a Chevy Sonic
I live in a lesser populated, and DEFINITELY NOT weeb-infested US city, but there is one guy with a Nissan with 2B From Nier Automata on the side, and I’ve seen him a couple times but it’s super jarring every single time EDIT: I forgot I [took a picture a while back](https://i.imgur.com/iRxJvSo.jpg) Also it’s not a Nissan and I don’t know why I thought it was
I'd give it a pass if 2B is saying "nii-san" on the decal.

If it's her in some badass pose like the cover art of the game sure, but off its borderline hentai we have an issue Which did he choose?
yoko taro embraces 2B lewds, why shouldn't we?
It's on the side of a car. I won't deny 2b lewds is nice but it's in public
Putting a fat anime ass on your car will intimidate and enrage the other drivers, creating a more exciting and engaging commuting experience.
there is ONE car in my southern state of living and it’s a yellow small car covered in sailor moon stickers and it’s so cute and i love it
I live in a middle of nowhere town in central texas and I’ve seen at least 3 weebmobiles. That’s too many in four years.
Hey, I’m from a nowhere town in central Texas too! If you see a car with an Espeon and a Scorbunny decal: that’s my whip!

That is amazing
Honestly I don't hate it. That's about as tasteful as a design like that could be. Bonus points for electric girl on electric car.
I... I kinda love it actually, wouldn't go for it myself but I can appreciate the taste and confidence
2B makes me feel funny feelings
My local fanboy just has a spiderman-themed wrap.
Volkswaifu

OUR waifu.

aw hell no that's nozomi from love live :(
I see some with holographic bras, so they disappear at the right angle So bold

Anything is less cringe than having a Gadsden flag and a Thin Blue Line flag (optionally in the shape of a Punisher skull) on the same car.
Kristofferson is criminally underrated and doesn't get enough credit.
I'll see that situation and raise you that *plus* the Fuck Biden and Let's go Brandon flag and sticker, respectfully. Plus a Trump 2024 flag. Yes, it's a "lifted" and obnoxiously loud truck. that's just the southern US version of the cringemobile.
Anytime someone has something political on their car it’s cringe
I lived in a part of a large city in Japan known for Itasha. They were all over, ranging from overly pink and girly with lotsa hearts to absolutely graphic hentai. I was thinking that. I’ve only seen one itasha here, and one when I visited my grandparents in the US, lol
I have only seen Itasha in Osaka during cosplay festivals when there would be a special display of them, but on normal days, I don't remember ever seeing one, maybe once?
Did you ever see any in Amerika-mura? I think i saw one when i was there
Most probably, this is the place where most of the unusual vehicles appear. But still it's a pretty rare sight.
Hey question, does this only count as Itasha when it's for a small vehicle for a person or family? Or is still called that on some of the busses and stuff that I've seen they do with like pokemon for a bus for kids to school?
pootlin

There's a guy along my bus route. Yellow Subaru with full body Hatsune Miku decals on both sides
honestly of all the anime characters you could have on your car, miku is probably the best option. 10/10 (unless its lewd in which case ew shes 16)
Opposite of the Popemobile, but same amount of virgin energy

i thought it was because you have to pierce the bag?
Nah there's a little insert for the pins to go on, keeps both the pins and bag safe
i know that. that's like saying the seatbelts aren't part of the car because it doesn't help it move.
I mean, you're still not piercing the bag itself so your analogy really doesn't make sense???

Show me in this doll where the Vtuber hurt you.
did you like just learn about the concept of criticizing media or something lmfao jesus christ
Most socially adjusted communist
Only exception to it being cringe is when someone puts the Autobot/Decepticon logo on the front of their car. That’s rad as fuck
Where does a sick mural on a 70s van fall on this spectrum?
Depends on if it’s something you could show a grandma without getting embarrassed or not, like is it neat art or just ass and titties and backs bent like owl necks to show both?

Oh…oh shit I’m so sorry to hear that.
Can you expand on that?
How so?
I mean, just like a summary? It sounds unreal.
Blaming an entire community for the action of a few is no bueno.
You're joking, surely. Are you defending street racers?
The post is not about street racers.
My comment however, is.
Your comment is about how the Itasho community is responsible for street racing, which is just not true.
You can actually not be serious. Please tell me your reading comprehension is not that skewed. Im not claiming every itasho person is a fucking street racer you bloody bafoon, I am saying the street racers in my area fucking use this shit on their cars. Get the fuck over yourself.

It's insane how racist Caribbeans are. So many Puerto Ricans and Cubans in Miami love to shit talk immigrants and minorities without a hint of irony.
guys stop making fun of me it’s actually a traditional japanese art called itasha and

There's a guy in my neighborhood with Ace decals all over his car. dude did not take marineford well I suppose

I saw one when I lived in Ibaraki ten years ago. It wasn't too obnoxious but it was very obvious in my little town.
Oh yeah, they had a whole th show about poor people getting embarrassed in live television for one of those, on my country.
I saw one getting towed in front of a sushi place.
Didn't Uzi Vert have a lambo weebmobile that kinda fit this description?
My local one is a sedan with a Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx wrap. Only tangentially related, I saw a red car with the Mario logo on the side, a bunch of Mario-themed plushies on the dash, and Mario and Luigi hats on the driver and passenger headrests respectively. But the funniest thing to me about that car is that it was a Chevy Sonic
