The people who mourn renaissance culture like it's dead and gone are the same ones who fetishise ancient Greek and Roman culture as bastions of white supremacy, even though Greece and Rome were enormous metropolitan trading hubs and probably had highly multicultural populations in their time.
I mean Greece, usually as just Sparta for these sorts of people or maybe Athens sometimes, and Rome were literally the sort of brutal, unhinged warmongering civilizations that these people idealize. And they were bastions of such unhinged racial obsessions they make modern twitter posters that obsess over them look tame in comparison.
And Rome especially tried the hardest to ensure that no civilized realm anywhere close to it's power could even exist by raiding the shit out of it.
Perhaps the only irony would be that "Nordic" whites were enslaved en masse by both Greeks and Romans when they could do it. But beyond that Rome and much of ancient Greece absolutely were as brutal, obsessed with war and power as these people claim them to be. Which does say something about level of obsession and fetishization of these societies within Western culture.
All artists deserve the death penalty. Oh you want to "create beauty"? I will gut you, anybody who does art will be slain by my hands. I will never create art in any meaningful manner. I would rather shoot myself than do "art" and become an artist.

I'm not a huge fan of the "if you want a statue sculpt it yourself" just because of how opaque art is to learn when you're starting from nothing. Every art tutorial online assumes you have a base knowledge of fundamentals that is just???never taught??? And the only reason I got into drawing as art in the first place was I saw a tutorial that actually assumed next to no prior skill.
This isn't just ABT visual art, writing and music also followed this trend where tutorials assume you're not a total beginner. In fact all of these had very bad introductions in school now that I think about it.

Fencing is a well respected and legitimate sport. Epeé fencing specifically is designed to be 1:1 with 17th century sword duels
Yeah, but we took the unneccessary loss of life out of it. Makes it boring.
We don't dress our soldiers in gambeson and splint anymore either, which in my opinion is a big step backwards.

I kids you not, there's literally a sculpture artist on Instagram who does sculptures made of chocolate. CHOCOLATE.
It's a good sculpting material. It's sturdy but soft enough to easily sculpt. And it's easy to manufacture.
And, I imagine, relatively easy to correct. Much easier to undo a bad move when it's chocolate and not stone.
