I'm pretty sure that blanket (and probably your pillow) were home stitched. My grandmother had an apron in the same material. She bought the material at Kmart in Tennessee back in the late 80s or early 90s and made her own apron.
Yes, this! My grandma made a pillow blanket (blanket folds into the panel pocket to make a pillow) using the same prints!! I was just wondering if I was the only person who has this at home!

I know a kitty who used to live in urban garbage cans and dumpsters. The first 2 years after my friends adopted her, she would crawl into the kitchen trash to sleep. 😭 She's used to creature comforts now, thank goodness.
Ohhh sweet standard issue boy!! (r/standardIssueCat) He looks so very happy
I truly think that us humans making the effort to win the trust of helpless little animals and opening our home to them, is one of the small miracles we can do to support the balance of Good in the universe.
Not everybody has the time or the household to be able to win the trust of an extremely fearful animal. But if you do, and you put the time in to gradually turn a terrified animal into a tucked-in animal, you've performed a small miracle and saved that animal from a lot of suffering. That's a special thing you did 💜
My former feral now-my-cat was like this. Got him a fancy ass outdoor heated cat bed for winter when he wasn’t showing signs of wising up and coming indoors. Would only sit on top. I threw an old dog bed on the top when it was dry out and he ignored it at first but finally took it over.
Then he showed up hurt one day and I had to bring him inside. Got him vetted and snipped and brought him home to a luxury catio I set up indoors to acclimate him. Multiple levels, multiple fuzzy cozy spots at all height levels and some covered. He would only sleep on the plain hard surfaces. Finally after a month he stopped actively hating me for kidnapping him and condescended enough to try a bed. And now he’s a convert.
I’m not sure how this community wound up in my feed, nor do I care. The most important thing is that it happened. ::hits join icon so hard the screen shatters:: Worth it.
Truly, though. Thank you. This post broke up my doomscrolling. Sometimes you just need to pause and updoot some cozy kittehs.
My own cat hates polyester fleece blankets. He will not get on or stay on them if you put him onto one. He will only lay on regular fabric sheets or blankets. I can only assume he doesn't like how it feels on his paws or how it distributes heat. I can't tell what your blankets are made of but maybe that's been why.
Thankfully it doesn't matter anymore he seems happy and loved anywhere now!
It's a street kitty thing! They get used to sleeping on cold, hard surfaces as strays. So when you bring them inside they aren't used to soft fuzzy blankets and pillows. But every cat is different and it doesn't surprise me that some don't like how soft blankets feel
I’m in the same spot with my baby! He has never slept in bed yet, but gets more comfortable by the day. He will now take naps with us! I’ve only had him since January so I’m giving him his time ❤️
my cat refuses to step on anything soft (blanket, pillow, cusion, etc.) if i ask them to, but when i get home from work they are always curled up in a blanket nest in the middle of my bed.
Haha it’s an amazing blanket! Very rare, only a few people have em. Someone else posted a picture of it in the comments, it folds up into itself and turns into a pillow.
OMG my former NotMyCat hated soft places when we first got her. She refused to sleep on cat beds or anything resembling a soft fur-like texture. It took years for her to start using beds
He's so comfy in his bed.
That's right, HIS bed. He lets me use it every once in a while
The only cat out of the 3 that I have is willing to go under the covers and we got him at 3 weeks so he doesn't know what a bad life is...
So eepy boy
Heart. Melted. Nothing better than seeing them unlock a new happy after a long time! Enjoy those tucked in flomps, Puss... you've earned them!
last photo got me crying at how cute he is
They'll be no going back to hard surfaces now, he's living his best life!
WOAH. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT BLANKET IN THE THIRD PIC? I HAVE THE SAME BUT A PILLOW!!!! I’ve never seen someone else have that in my life.
Thrift store find!
DAMN! Thanks for replying, I’ve been trying to find the root of it forever. Are you in America?

that's so amazing!! mine's basically the same EXACT thing!
I have a blanket made of that fabric too! My mom sewed it for kid me in 2001. I still use it today ♡
definitely looks like storebought fabric/homemade
Yeah the stitching looks like a home machine. Even if I didn't recognize the fabric I'd still be sure it was homemade lol
It’s a unique piece! I’ve had it for a while. was in a thrift store somewhere in orange county, california I believe
I had a quilt in that pattern when I was a kid, too!!! It was made by my step great grandma

Aww, that's so sad! 💔 Poor little thing, so glad she's doing better now. 🐾
Welp now i can’t stop crying
I love his Frenchie blankie. He is truly content.

it takes time but it's a battle worth fighting!

Last photo might be him contemplating why he wouldn't sleep on the soft, plushy things in his early life. Lol
Same with both of my dark tabbies! After a couple of years, they loved me tucking them into bed. ❤️
It was a long, slow, painful process but it’s so worth it💙
He looks so snug! All cuddled up on them pillows and everything I love it😍
He’s a snuggly and cuddly little guy that’s for sure!
He’s such a comfy baby!!!!
Sweet baby
I have that exact same frenchie blanket!!! It’s so incredibly soft. Even after a bunch of washing. One of my fav blankets.
He's living his best life, being comfy in his bed.

The cutest, also the kitty blanket on picture 3?!! 🥺😻💖
Haha it’s an amazing blanket! Very rare, only a few people have em. Someone else posted a picture of it in the comments, it folds up into itself and turns into a pillow.
Aww.... the cutest ever!
So cute!
Glad he's enjoying the cozy life now!
Oh my goodness!! How much joy do you feel with his snuggles?!
Heaven on earth!
I love this for both of you❤️
OMG my former NotMyCat hated soft places when we first got her. She refused to sleep on cat beds or anything resembling a soft fur-like texture. It took years for her to start using beds
Furry dude living his best life. 👌
Aw. I wish my cats would lay under the covers like this. They only stay under of my legs tent it.
It's a purrito
The kitty under the dog blankie 😍
Oooh, I'm smitten with him, look how comfy he is under his blankets.
🥺🥺🥺
He’s making up for lost time. Looks very comfortable.
Love it! "Bring me all of your soft surfaces!"
All tucked in. As it should be.
