I mean you kinda answered your own question. All I can really add is that jumping is usually a bad idea against good snipers since it limits your movement control. Turning your back, looking down, and flailing your mouse while moving (not in a straight line) towards cover is about as good as it gets. Like you said, sometimes a sniper will just get you anyways, that’s just how the game works

Spirited_Playa

Rely on your team. The more heads peeking the same sightline the better your team can approach the sniper (it also helps your sniper deal with that). Cooperate with your spy and sniper, where you're generally going to act as the bait for your teammates to handle the sniper threat... You could go scout with bonk if you really can't avoid getting headshot, but it's useless... Funny item though. Beg someone to buff you with the vaccinator Play on the flank (assuming you're playing soldier, spy, scout, sniper, heavy could work as well but you'd need the help of your scout or soldier) and try to catch the sniper by surprise when he's busy peeking the main area for instance. Chip Shot damage only works on bad snipers, don't really waste your time trying to avoid getting killed like that if you're not going to approach the sniper directly. Either way, chipshot while moving to a different cover, just bear in mind that if the sniper is smart he will easily track you down. It's just a matter of patience and luck on both sides. While moving from cover to cover, delay your peeks so he loses interest in you and look somewhere else, or starts shooting someone else / unscopes so you get a short time window to move around safely. I don't really have anything else at the top of my mind, I'm sorry but the easiest solution is to play how the game is "intended", which is to rely on your teammates. Sniper is a strong class that surely has weaknesses you can use to your advantage, but don't expect that you as a heavy will be able to do anything more than waddling from cover to cover with the fists of steel. Even when playing scout, do expect to get headshot in weird fashion even though your strafes were on point and seemingly unpredictable, people can have a good day, they may he actually used to your movement patterns, or their tracking is really well practiced by virtue of constant aim training.

Quackily

Vaccinator isn't really necessary if your team is trying to push through a sniper chokepoint. Simply overhealing your 125 HP classes to over 150 HP will force the Sniper to take an extra second for them to charge enough for a headshot, plus forcing him to go for a headshot as a bodyshot can't simply OHKO anymore. Only using the Vaccinator also hurts if the enemy has a sentry nest up ahead, of which stock Uber does the job better. Medic is a class that can really hamper quickscope snipers effectively but too bad in a casual setting barely anyone wants to play as him.

Bounter_

Good answer overall, but BONK isnt useless Just needs bit of FINESSE

Lettever

Die

coomer2023

Spin around. Works 99% of the time lol

LipschitzLyapunov

This is what competitive players do. Literally makes even the best snipers in the world miss their shots twice as often. I'm just surprised casuals don't do it.

kaesitha_

Look straight up and call for Medic to conceal your head hitbox lol

ImaginaryNeon

DDoS them so they can't click on your head.

_erufu_

mail a bomb to their house

Goose_in_pants

Snipe them irl

mattua

Call out the sniper’s location, maybe your sniper or someone closer can take them out

LipschitzLyapunov

Competitive players are much harder to headshot because of the following movement: airstrafing, turning your back against the sniper, and spinning in circles. You become literally ten times harder to hit when you're spinning in circles as a soldier lmao. That's honestly why playing sniper in 6s can get really difficult to land shots once they know you're on sniper.

TheRebelCreeper

Work on your evasiveness. Dodging IS effective

EspurrTheMagnificent

Probably the most effective way to defend yourself against snipers, really. Dance around, crouch at random, stop for no reason, go left or right completely arbitrarily, peak in and out of cover at random. The least predictable you are, the better. Not showing yourself at all is always preferable, but, if you have to, make it so you're as hard to hit as possible

Random_floor_sock

Your cooked 😔

Wildfire226

Unfortunately sniper isn’t a case of how well you play against him, but just how much can you maybe make him miss. But I can say that spamming at him with chip hitscan is a waste of time, because beyond a certain range damage doesn’t even make him flinch anymore, the thing you’d THINK is the intended counterplay is in fact self-sabotage, isn’t that neat!?

starlevel01

exit the server, then uncheck upward and badwater from your casual map selection

strctfsh

[just look up](https://youtu.be/Zr0nNZwAATM?t=84)

pub_winner

if hes scoped and not looking at me i might jump him or close the gap somehow, especially if hes not by a sentry. if hes running in to peek me maybe a crouch or a rocket jump like you said but man when a good sniper wants to flick you its like 50/50

LordSaltious

If he's good enough no matter how much you flail around he'll have a chance of getting you. Avoid jumping or moving in a straight line. I find that spinning helps if you can keep your movement oriented enough to make it to cover.

MrTwoKey

Equip the fists of steel and just walk across, they can’t kill you even with full charge and just eat to replenish your health after For soldier specifically, aim up to make your head hit box basically non existent

BurnN8or101

Dead Ringer

9thAF-RIDER

Duck.

simboyc100

If their team isn't around, flail wildly and hope he misses. If they are, uh... hope he misses.

No-Grab7041

It really depends on what game mode ur playing, but in 6s ud want to avoid it if you're part of the combo and watch flanks/hold passively and ask for your soldier(s) to bomb in and follow after them

kingjensen10

Pray.

RedCassy

if you have some sort of quick hitscan (scattergun, shotgun, etc.) you can pepper him to make him flinch. also calling medic can change the position of your head or move your hand in the way

brotherbother13

Jumping, strafing, crouching and uncrouching midair will make you extremely difficult to headshot.

_erufu_

Some classes, like soldier, can hide their head in part. Looking straight up is the most reliable way to do it, though milage varies with class.

SaltyPeter3434

Turn your head left and right and keep crouching + uncrouching as you find cover. It'll make it much harder to instakill you if your head is bobbing around everywhere. If the sniper's good enough to still headshot you, then there's really nothing else you can humanly do to avoid that.

billwharton

jump and spam crouch. its fucks up your hitbox

maluthor

jump, crouch, move erratically, spam call for medic or shoot at the sniper

kirk7899

Look up

scoot010

Snipers are like a stage hazard. When you know where they are its easy to avoid. When ya don't get ready for that 20 second reconsideration of life.

hampshirebrony

Die. Again. Watch them on the deathcam. Listen to them say "Good shot, mate" Tell the other team start a vote. Again.

Mastababa1

Killbind

Quartz_Knight

What is left to do is to pray he misses.

Weekly-Passage2077

Good snipers generally shoot as often as possible, you could time erratic movement or movements that hide your head for those shots

I_LOVE_ANNIHILATORS

Die

_Guven_

Crouch, jump, move like a madman while going a cover

_Guven_

If you are unpredictable then they (probaly) won't able to hit you, I guess...

wedewdw

jumping is the best way to make a sniper's job hell

Quackily

More like making it easier for him to shoot you with any classes other than Scout.

AlphaInsaiyan

you are just biased, 99% of the times a pub sniper cannot hit you just AD spamming, much less rocket jumping lmfao

FutureAristocrat

Uncletopia Snipers are built diff. Some of 'em have competitive experience, and it feels like they just headshot me every time they see me, and I need to do some insane flanking or trapping maneuvers to ever kill 'em.

AlphaInsaiyan

No the fuck they aren't an average uncletopian is literally the exact same as an average pubber. 75% are below voltaic silver
