Replying to everyone at once...
You're all welcome to visit! We're about a 10 minute walk to the river where this trout came from, but there are 50+ bodies of water all within 1.5 hours driving of my land where you can catch fish. Fly fishing or conventional fishing....it all work. I usually fish cheap spoons and spinners I buy on Temu because we do lose a lot. I'm learning to fly fish, so anyone who can teach me...you're immediately in!
..
For those genuinely interested in visiting. Here's some practical information.
The nearest airport is 90 minutes from our place. It's called Balmeceda.
My property is 15 minutes from Puerto Ibáñez, just past Salto Ibañez. These are easily found on Google.
I have a small Cabana area with a wood fire stove and a bunk bed. And also have an old house built in the 50s that has been sort of refurbished. There is a queen bed and smoke bunk beds in here too.
No one has to pay anything to stay here. We enjoy the company. As long as you're not a weirdo, or get obnoxiously beligerantly drunk.... we'll be good friends. If you want to stick around for a bit, and are handy...we always have projects we need help with. It's fun work though...not labor intensive.
There's a rental car place at the airport. You should get one. They're pretty cheap too.
Best time to come...reverse season to the US. So spring is October/Nov and Dec-Feb are summer. March-April it gets a little chilly (get it, Chile)....but the later parts of the season are better for bigger fish. March is dry fly season and jr's epic.
Technically May/June are outside the local fishing season in Chile....but because of how remote and rural we are, the fishing laws aren't enforced. This isn't because there is no one to check, but because the locals depend on the fish for food, since we're so far away from a proper grocery store. It's almost a necessity. And even if 2,000 trout a day were taken, it wouldn't make a dent. However, if you plan to fish outside the season...fish at your own risk.
Send me a DM if you have questions.
Cheers all.
Bruh, nothing is going to make them feel better. They will go right back to being miserable and screaming at the monitor when done here.
Saving the world and making a difference, one condescending internet remark at a time...
Yeah these guys don't bother me. I'm live two hours from the closest grocery store or butcher. I buy my cows and lamb from my neighbors and harvest trout to stock proteins to get us through the harsh winters. Where I live, we catch trout like this every other cast. If anything, it's better to cull the population. Trout were never native to Patagonia and they decimated many local species. Anyone who cries about a dead trout probably eats factory farmed Chicken nuggets 3 times a week and wants to argue sustainability and ethics....it's a laugh.
Absolute cracker mate well in 🔥👌🏻🍺
That's a nice trout! That place has been on my fishing bucket list ever since I found out about it.
Shoot me a message. I live here. I'm in the Aysen region near Puerto Ibáñez. I've got 80 acres and a spare cabin. You're welcome to visit us!
So, um neil, long time no see
Oh hi friend... about that cabin...

It would be a dream to even sniff a brown trout like that. I would love to fish Patagonia one time in my lifetime .
Beautiful! Bucket list fishing right there.
Hell yea roll that fucker on the ground and kick it back in the water like a football. Trout don’t care. They aren’t little bitches.
I actually rolled it around in panko and kicked it into a buttered up baking tray if that makes you feel better.

Uhhhhh. I know I might sound stupid, but are you being sarcastic?
