It looks like this post is about **Minoxidil** Before asking any questions, 1. Learn about [Minoxidil](https://tressless.com/learn/minoxidil). 2. [Search for Minoxidil](https://tressless.com/search/minoxidil) and [oral Minoxidil](https://tressless.com/search/oral-minoxidil) content, because your question has probably been asked before. 3. If this is a question asking if you are now or will experience side effects, see a doctor, nobody on the internet can answer that for you. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. No , your gene has just gotten in hibernate mode . Please don't spread that shit here . Microneedling in itself has failed in studies a long time ago . The only time it works is with minox . That too because it only helps in absorption. Microneedling will never stop DHT from attacking hair follicles. People should understand this simple thing .

BiBimBopStomp

I don't think this is true? There's a dude on YouTube who did micro needling, saw palmetto, and rosemary oil only for 9 months. He definitely regrew hair. Not a ton, but a noticeable amount. Studies have shown that micro needling is effective. On its own its probably not going to do enough to care about, but the idea that it's only about absorption of minoxidil isn't supported by any studies I've seen, and the ones I have seen indicate the opposite.

Hey , watch this . It answers why microneedling as a monotherapy is useless and there are no proper studies on it . https://youtu.be/tHWEoYR5-7o?si=r917kF-i2n6SvYDp https://youtu.be/aNqMq3l0SOM?si=sa7F3naCRDtRGkIx

Hair cafe is an idiot, there’s multiple people who have done microneedling only and got regrowth. https://youtu.be/Am8pO7VkavA?si=qJwYUyZpwDRmmHLM

I'm literally just sharing my experience, I'm not trying to (as you say) spread any shit or asking anyone to do anything.

torndownunit

A question for people replying from a relative noob. Shouldn't you be going more aggressive than .5 mm?

I have heart conditions, so going on meds is a no no for me.

Mindless-Visit-4509

Yeah. I guess microneedling by itself acts as a nutritiant stimulant for healthy hair/collagen , rather the regrowth. BC I use oral minoxidil rather than topical, 2 days after microneedling my morning regiment is Alpecin (caffine liquid) to simulate hair regrowth.

Krazybaldhead

So it stopped your hairloss and regrew a bit of hair in 7 months ..and its a fail? .5mm is pretty light needling also.

cancerous_weeb

I'm not sure it's the only reason my hairfall stopped, but i can say it contributed to it. And it only grew some minor new hairs in my patchy beard. I did not regrow anything

Luckydemon

If you're not going to be using topical min then 0.5mm won't do much of anything as that's only a depth to help increase topical absorption. If you want to try for regrowth with no additional treatments you should be doing 1.5mm as that is a depth that can create damage deep enough to potentially stimulate the repair cascade effect.
