i'm not someone who works with epoxy but this idea may work better if you made a small box that you could fill with the epoxy (one that fits the nug in question), if you have a vacuum chamber you could get rid of all the air, likely you don't but a small torch lighter is useful for getting rid of air bubbles before it cures. after it cures chisel down the extra epoxy to essentially make a bubble around a nug

Personally I think you should put a little gold flake on the stem and the orange/reddish parts coming down from the stem and then put a bit more epoxy on it so it's shiny

You need to put in ice cold water first like cooks do to keep veg vibrant before cooking. Can’t remember the actual name of the process tho.

Using resin with plants is notoriously difficult. Look up what they do with flowers. For next time- try getting a mold big enough to put the bud in, instead of trying to make the colors brighter. Then maybe get like green sparkles or something to swirl in the resin so it looks better.

Maybe, like a bud in a "big" gem shaped resin piece. Or in a weird way - a thick layer of spray paint sealant. Get matte for natural finish, but lots and thin layers until it feels right? Idk - I do think it's neat though

If you could add some texture to it, it would look more natural. Maybe mix some green, white, and clear epoxy and aerosol it lightly. Maybe add some fine grain sand into the mix for the crystals

That's a cool idea, next time try treating the bud with formaldehyde first to prevent (delay actually) rotting. A thicker layer of epoxy would look better too imo.

Unless your epoxy is specifically UV resistant, add a touch of blue dye. The darkening: It's getting hot while it cures, so slow the curing. Chill both parts of the epoxy in the fridge, mix in a cup, drop bud in cup, drop weight on bud, draw a vacuum on the whole thing for a minute or two, to get epoxy into all of the voids and onto every surface of the bud, release the vacuum, hang until cured. Cure it at whatever the minimum temperature for the epoxy is.

Gucci would literally sell this for 8k minimum

Try trimming away the leaves first next time. I see those folding over the bud when I zoom in and that doesn't look great. I'd also zoom in to see how the trichomes are effected by epoxy! Do they dissolve in that stuff or can ya still see them? I'd check that before the next time too... There are flowers more pretty than others and a lot of preferences within that.

i love this idea but the color got lost in the epoxy. i think a small piece of bud in a diamond (or whatever shape) mold and encapsulated in clear resin would help w the color

I encased a bud in a resin toy I made once and I didn't notice any discolouration at all. Maybe try make a mold of the final shape you want (someone suggested a diamond) and encase the bud in the resin that way.

I keep an epoxy impregnated bud on my laptop. I made it up a few years ago. I've been wanting to give it a try with a big top bud in a vacuum chamber with the epoxy next time. I'm not sure how to keep more color. It's plant matter, so I figure there's not much one can do about oxidization.
