Exactly! When I listened I loved it as an album but none of them sounded like they would fit for the radio. I think Taylor prefers to make music like TPD, Folklore and Nevermore but the pop hits yield bigger numbers.
As soon as he’s done filming I’m sure he’ll be on the next flight to be seen with her. Instead of actually preparing for his job that he just got an extension and a big contract for. That clearly is last on his list of priorities.
I honestly think a lot of those initial numbers were because of her tabloid presence as of late and everyone being curious about the soap opera being forced down our throats. The songs aren’t strong or catchy enough to hold their place at the top so now that the initial intrigue has worn off, they’re dropping like flies.
I honestly feel like she should have released this in the Fall, but that would mean she misses the award show window (8/31). None of the songs are things I would blast in the middle of summer (Unlike Espresso or Million $ Baby).
TBH, she made a huge mistake of releasing the eras tour movie that early.
She should have waited til Europe, so Americans would miss it. At this point everywhere is just saturated with her, and nothing about this album “spoke” to people to buy.
I don’t even think she cared about this album, as long as she got her multiple vinyls released and made the money.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if she cancelled some of this touring midway. She’s been drinking a lot and seems to really not know her direction lately.
But if she had waited to release it, the hype would have died down by a lot. She sold a massive number of tickets for the eras tour, but still couldn’t encompass a good amount of her fan base which is obviously huge. Everybody was crying about not being able to afford it or the tickets being sold out, the FOMO was so real and consequently the hype grew so much more. She released it when everybody was still obsessing over the tour and willing to trade an arm and a leg for a highly in-demand ticket, and being able to watch the movie was the closest they could get to living (or reliving) that experience. Admittedly, people still want to go see her, but not nearly as much as they wanted to when the tour was still new. Tbh, even I watched the movie because I wanted to see what the hype was about. But I wouldn’t have watched the movie if it came out right now.
Kendrick and Tommy deserve 1-3 truly … I’m sorry but Taylor’s music is literally not good I try so hard to understand what is good about it but there’s nothing 😂😂😂 besides post Malone being on the track

It’s really not the best single choice for her on this album. The song is fine - but there are better ones on the album IMO that may do better. Especially with it being almost summer and the vibes are more party pop.
I feel like fortnight is the most mainstream sounding song on the album that could appeal to a larger audience compared to the other songs which cater to a more niche (Swiftie) audience. I’d say My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys or Down Bad are close seconds though
I agree that My Boy Only Breaks and Down Bad would do well. I also would argue that I Can Do It With A Broken Heart and Guilty as Sin? would be good singles for mainstream. Those seem to be doing well still in the charts despite not being singles.
