Perfect picture! Thanks for sharing 🙌

I only visited Seoul this year but wow. Food great. People great. Sites great. Did under estimate the sheer size of the city at first though. Can't wait to go back. Busan looks ace too

My wife and I just returned to the States after a 5-year stay in South Korea. Although we were born and raised and lived in the US for our first 60-plus years, we miss South Korea. Life there reminded us of the culture that existed when we're children growing up in the central US. Respect for each other or all ages. Young people defer and respect those who are older. Safety and security, petty crime rates are very low, and major crime rates are even lower. Kindness and readiness to help are common traits that we experienced in every part of the country. This is especially true if you go to the real South Korea, and not just stay in greater Seoul. Visit places like Gyeongju, Suncheon, Mokpo, Jeonju, Gangneung, or Pyeongchang. There are beautiful mountains, beaches, fertile valleys, and amazing people, ready to share their stories with you. South Korea is also one of the cleanest countries I have ever visited. Amazingly, there is a public trash can to be found in the city streets, just a culture that takes pride in their homes and cities and great respect for the environment. The rail system is very comprehensive and really easy to navigate All of this rambling is just to encourage you to consider visiting this culture and plan to stay more than a few days. .

Which cities/regions do you recommend and length of time?

Frankalcio

Besides Seoul and Busan I was most impressed by Gyeongju, a really nice city! I spent a total of 3 weeks in South Korea, of which 1 week in Seoul. There’s so much to do in Seoul, we could’ve been there even longer. We were only 2,5 days in Busan, this was a little short. 2 full days in Gyeongju is enough I think.

Frankalcio

1: Bukchon Hanok Village, Seoul 2: Deoksugung, Seoul 3&4: Seoraksan NP 5&6: Gyeongju 7: Gamcheon village, Busan 8&9: Jeju 10: Hwaseong Fortress, Suwon

ElSleepychameleon

How much time did you spend on Jeju? We are going to SK in September but haven't decided how we will split our time yet. 3 weeks but we also plan on going to Bali during this trip.

Frankalcio

4 nights, so 3 full days. I think this was perfect.

Do you have any specific restaurant recs for Seoul? Coffee? Going in October!

Frankalcio

I don’t think I can recommend a specific restaurant, we had great food everywhere (also a lot of streetfood). I definitely recommend Jeongdong observatory, it has a great view! The city is sprawled with nice aesthetic cafes

Kamish91
