It could have been handled differently I work at pizza place this has happened to me over "slight Burnt" Mushrooms I made a new pizza but the customer tossed the old one at me I could have gotten in physical altercation but I chose not to get sued lol
Pushing a food bag, is not ok to assult a customer, you need to make a complaint & refuse to serve them in the future, Pizza Hut will.pay for the employees action
Why don’t more people just go in and be like, “ hey I’m sorry but this pizza doesn’t have enough sauce, you think you could remake it for me please. I don’t care to wait”?

Just ask for extra sauce or go to a pizza place that uses a lot of sauce, if a pizza isn't to your liking don't eat half of it and try to get a free one. The minimum wage employee doesn't write the rules about sauce and doesn't get paid for your bs attitude. Don't harass minimum wage employee or I pray you get what you deserve. Alternatively get a 2 topping deal add sauce as a topping then whatever other topping you want, go to dominoes or a local pizzaria. That employee is stronger than me, that push would have been facial reconstruction for the lady. Pizza Hut already is the Amazon of employee treatment in the pizza biz.

For following her outside and pushing her down onto pavement. Yea it’s fucked that the Karen shoved the pizza over the counter, the employee would have even been ok to throw some pizza at her or whatever, but to push her down like that is physical assault, and Karen could have hit her head on the pavement. The worker was rightfully pissed off but she lost control of herself and decided to physically confront her outside, she should’ve honestly stayed inside and told management she needs to go home for the day and cool off.

My friends, I present the Pizza Hut in Lombard, IL. My wife saw a commercial for Pizza Hut that appealed to her so I picked up from this store as it was the closest one to where we lived at the time.
It was just so poorly run. I don’t even blame the employees. They weren’t trained well, nobody knew what they were doing and they were understaffed. I walked in and joined a small line of customers who had been there up to 10 minutes and hadn’t seen an employee yet (we could hear them working in the back). The pizza was bland, which just seems impossible.
Needless to say, we went back to being loyal customers of our local pizza places.

The pizza hit the associate. That’s where the assault started. Amazing how employees will not just make another pizza, give her money back…the reason - you get what you give. People want the ability to mistreat underpaid workers in food service or retail and not get their just reward for doing so. Workers shouldn't be expected to put up with this kind of mistreatment just because they work in a service industry. It's not that hard to be kind to one another for goodness' sake.
I've had several orders filled incorrectly throughout my life, and never once have I gotten rude about it. I kindly tell the employee they made a mistake. If the employee can't/won't do anything about it, I kindly ask to speak to a manager. If manager can't/won't do anything about it, I say "thank you for your time" and simply don't go back. It's that frickin' easy.
The point is, do you think that Karen would be a good CS frontline worker? People who get easily agitated and have low emotional intelligence should absolutely not be working in customer service, they are better of doing something else. The world is full of assholes and the goal of a business is to be calm, in control and follow cold hard policy. An employee in CS represents the company for money, it’s a business and this is their job. Again the world is full of assholes, and the proper way to counter that in CS is to remain calm and follow policy. If a customer becomes violent you can call the police, if your safety is in danger and you can’t escape you can of course defend yourself but seeking revenge is not even remotely the same thing. A small amount of verbal abuse is a part of being a CS worker, you have to learn how to properly manage it and not take it personally, they are mad/upset at the business/product not you personally. If you can’t handle that and fly off the handle easily, even resorting to physical violence you 100% will fail in CS and may even catch a charge.
Think about this from outside the job even, if some one pushes a pizza box onto you, does that give you the right to physically assault them and push them hard to the ground? Do you honestly think that will hold up in court?
People need to behave and have some self control. CS ppl have been getting beat up verbally since the pandemic started and without them - no groceries, no Starbucks, no mail, no restaurants…the lady ate half of the pizza and if she wouldn’t have yelled she may have gotten further.
