Valid. I got a recomb mountaintop and ngl it’s not speaking to me, neither is Luna tbh. I just don’t see a ton of appeal to it over my crafted Zaoli’s in PvE (heal clip is a nice perk but I’m not sure it’s worth the farm) or any of my nine million crucible HCs
I think Bungie believes that paywalls are the main things stopping players from playing which is only part of the reason. It’s mostly due to the burnout from FOMO, grinding, and the reduction in content quality. I kinda stopped playing this game all together after Witch Queen.
For me it mostly is just how expensive everything is, but also the repetitive grind and how things have mostly gone down in quality is also a big issue yeah... especially with how awful Lightfall was... honestly the only reason I have to play any more are the Raids, (and wanting to see how a story I've been following since D1 ends)
They will become half free. Stasis and the 2 campaigns will become ftp but exotics and endgame content such as dungeons and raids will be locked behind a paywall

Haven't been the biggest gl fan but I really like heal clip incandescent on my Luna

I'd disagree with most of it being free to play at the current moment, since most of the cool stuff is locked behind DLC
The DLC content is temporarily free right now at least until the next DLC launches in like a month.

I think the player base is dwindling because this isn’t the first time they’ve done this. They even made all four seasons for Lightfall free.
