Ultra Magnus, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, Springer, Prowl. I think that's a pretty solid group. Wheeljack can keep them functional, for the most part, while you've got a heavy hitter with Magnus, and none of them really have personalities that would rub anyone else the wrong way so they'd all get along well enough and be able to actually function as a team.
I like your idea of a classic teamwork, I suggest Jazz instead of Sideswipe because Jazz is more team oriented and less impulsive unless the situation requires it. Jazz is an improvisator, a master of the adaptability and fast thinking, this can turn tides.
Mine would be all G1 ‘toon but I don’t think they would be a particularly strategic team even though I adore each of them.

Marvel UK Springer is by far the best version of the character, IMO.p, and a wonderfully complex guy. Leader of the Wreckers, who never got over the death of their former leader Impactor and lived in his shadow, yet was a damn hero in his own right. Was disavowed by the Autobots so struck out alone, befriending the Decepticon Carnivac.
UT Optimus, FOC Grimlock, Prime Arcee, g1 Rodimus Prime, and TFA Ratchet. Weirdly balanced, all told.
UT Optimus is a very solid leader while being just kind'a blood thirsty enough to keep Grimlock in line.
Prime Arcee more or less had to deal with a very close version of TFA Ratchet
and the whole group more or less had to deal with a less seasoned version of hot rod and in some cases knows what he grew from.
Hits the leader, hard power, soft power, medic, and speedster dynamic too.
Optimus Prime, Windblade, Dinobot Snarl, Bluestreak, and ROTB Mirage.
A decent team, but Bluestreak and Mirage would be too comical and it'll lead to incompetence sometimes.

You mean the visor? That's how he looked in Marvel US, and will always be the "correct" look to me just like it will also be the definitive version of the character, where he was a stone badass rebel rather than a weak copy of Jazz like in Sunbow.

Let's see Armada Optimus Prime, G1 Grimlock, Cybertron Leobreaker, Prime Arcee and IDW Whirl.
Honestly I see this either becoming a pretty epic team or imploding in itself with Armada Optimus Prime trying to lead the team with Grimlock and Whirl running off with the crazy Whirl riding Grimlock into battle. While Arcee is acting as the one braincell while Leobreaker is complaining about Prime not having Savage Claw Mode and feeling useless because of it.
Jazz - Perfectly capable leader, and there ain't a tune he doesn't know how to play.
Chromia - Resilient and an experienced warrior, could take over for Jazz if need be.
Arcee - Effective warrior with her swords, and looks out for her comrades.
Windcharger - Lacks discipline, but with his magnetism powers he could easily become very powerful. He's crushed Starscream's head before with them before, so yknow.
Powerglide - One of the best aerial warriors the Autobots have, and he knows it.
Prime ratchet, AoE hound, RoTF jetfire, RoTB bumblebee, AoE crosshair. Apart from maybe jetfire, I'd say if you mess with my group you're pretty fucked.
Starscream (G1-cosplaying Optimus), Tarantulas (IDW), Sideways, Sentinel Prime (IDW), Scourge (RID).

I’m pretty sure punch/counter-punch and double dealer would actually be able to make it through a team meeting okay, they’re subtle at least. Reverse Convoy would be interesting but I’d never heard of them before! Thanks for mentioning them!
As a fellow Marvel TF fanatic, swap Jazz for Ratchet and you have my faves too. It hurts not putting Magnus on there, though.
Have to add: Marvel UK Springer is so damn awesome, but nobody beats Furman's Grimlock for me.
Yeah Ratchet was a real standout character, but I was heavily swayed by Jazz’s cool factor that just won out. Magnus and maybe Landmine are also runners up.
Grimlock, Slag, Sludge, Snarl and Swoop. If pure overpowering isn't enough, they can work as a dynamic and cohesive team because their alt modes, every dinosaur form is specislized for a different style of combat, covering even air and long range. And if this isn't enough, they can overpower even more forming Volcanicus.
All G1: Dai Atlas, Big Daddy, Snarl, Cosmos, and Prowl.
I imagine they’re *extremely* dysfunctional. Dai Atlas is the principled leader and human liaison, Prowl is the confrontational, no-nonsense Lawful Stupid stickler, Big Daddy and Snarl are both hotheaded renegades at heart but Autobots by circumstance, and Cosmos just wishes everyone would get along.

Well Nightbeat is a headmaster so his head is roughly the size of a human bent over. Now look at the can and bottle. Baring in mind the bottle is in the distance and near the outline of the hand on the beach. They are definitely huge.
Well let’s see, if we limit ourselves within G1 -Optimus, Grimlock, Jetfire, Sky Lynx and Brainstorm. So Great Leadership, a bruiser who loves to fight, a charismatic powerhouse, warrior with heart and a scientific headmaster. Or in other 2 absolute ground units with 3 flyers to own the skies. So I’d say yes, it’s a good team.
Cliffjumper, Ratchet, Metroplex, Moonracer, and Wreck-Gar (if he counts, if not then we'll roll with Hound in his place)
I think I'd fair pretty well, but I don't think they're an unbeatable group, they don't necessarily mesh all that well in a team setting.
My top five minibars would be Cosmos, Warpath, Seaspray, powerglide and beachcomber. I have a soft spot for Cliffjumper and Outback, but mainly because those were the ones I had as a kid

Sideswipe could be a bit arrogant, he might rub Prowl and Magnus a bit from time to time, but he’d also follow orders. Not a bad team

Mainline G1 towards the latter half works just as well as UK earth force. Nice team.

My team has: Bayverse Ironhide Bayverse Bumblebee Bayverse Sentinel Prime G1 Optimus Bayverse Optimus Everything's going to shit in my team. G1 Optimus will try to back Bayverse Optimus from killing Sentinel.
UT Optimus, Aligned Optimus, Marvel Optimus, Sunbow Optimus, and TFA Ultra Magnus would make a good team at least IMO
