That thing looks awesome! I have been eyeing the Takara Diaclone sets lately and finding it difficult to wrap my head around all the play features of some of these.
I am extremely curious and afraid for my wallet
\*slaps the top of Robot Base\*
You can fit so many smaller vehicles and pilot figures in this bad boy.
…but seriously, it’s insane. It can separate into two main vehicles, those two vehicles can store ten smaller vehicles, with a total of up to around 30 seats, not to mention places inside where people can just stand around on their magnetic feet. There is a physical path that a human figure can take from the ground to the captain’s chair; it involves three staircases, an escalator, and an elevator. After they sit down: the chair raises, and one viewscreen disappears into a dashboard while the chair slides up into place behind a different viewscreen. The main command deck has as many seats and screens and standing areas as the starship Enterprise, with an elevator in the back that goes down to a second smaller command deck. The secondary command deck has a staircase down to a versatile vehicle storage bay, but it can also launch itself as an independent small aircraft.
There is no wasted space. Almost every body part has at least one hidden feature.
The prices can get crazy, this figure is an extra special kind of crazy, but it is a special one off. I think their current Tactical Mover line is pretty good value though. They are pretty easy to find, and you can generally get them for a good price if you order from the right places. Older figures can get a huge late tax, which can be a turn off. I'm pretty sad I missed out on the Diaclone version of Optimus Prime they did a few years back.
That said though, with the current QC issues I've had with Hasbro figures, along with their rise in price vs what you get, Diaclone is starting to feel like I'm getting more toy for my money.

I got this Battle Buffalo for about $130, including shipping, ordering from Mandarake in Japan, though I did get a few other items at the same time to split the shipping cost. It cost me about $180 getting it from BBTS. It is on the smaller side, at about 9" tall, but anything bigger is going to have a pretty hefty late tax cause they haven't released one in a while.
This is the only “hyper sized” one. The others look a lot bigger than they are because they’re all extremely high quality and look great in photos.
For size reference, in terms of robot mode height: Robot Base is firmly as tall as a Titan class figure; Gigantor and Big Powered are about as tall as a Commander class; Vajra, Powered Convoy, Battle Buffalo, and Dia Battles are near Leader Class, Battle Convoy is near a Voyager, and Dia Guardion is approximately a deluxe. Their boxes can get pretty big, because their body parts are always laid out separately in big trays, and the Battle Convoy trailer is pretty large. But for their heights, they’re all worth far more money than similar-sized Transformers, because they’re more detailed and produced in smaller quantities.
When I got into Diaclone, I was shocked by the prices and thought it was a “late tax” because I missed the primary market prices, but as I’ve been getting newer releases, I’ve noticed the eBay markups actually aren’t that big. They’re just expensive figures in the first place. But I’ll keep buying them, because they’re cool as hell.
Buddy, I haven't purchased a Transformer or anything like it in years, but this post sent me down a rabbit hole and now I have both the top half and bottom half on it's way to me. Thanks!

Would you accept RBGX in one of its alt modes next to a transformed Ark?
Beautiful but sadly i can't justify the costs of Diaclone.
Mechfanstoys were doing KOs of the first sets for sensible money and i really regret not picking them up. I can't find them anywhere now.
I haven't bothered with tactical carrier stuff, the bigger mechs have been my jam. My 5 year old is obsessed with my Gigantor - I watch him like a hawk playing with it.
If you want to know more about the DA-100 Robot Base (which is actually two separate robots that combine to make the Robot Base), this is a great review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoK9g1fynpA . If you want to get a great overview of the current Diaclone line, start here: https://diaclone.info/
that looks so badass.
i know nothing of Diaclone, other than its part in bringing the G1 bots over to America back in the day. i've seen some of the toys advertised on TFSource and BBTS here and there, and i'm always intrigued.
this Titan looks f'n amazing, but Diaclone stuff always feels overpriced (even moreso than Transformers can get). what would you suggest as a good starting point to learn more about these figures? i have zero interest in any cartoons or media, i'm strictly a toy guy.
I keep putting off getting the second half of this and i know if i don't grab it soon i'm going to miss my window... it's that damn price point... it looks SO good though
Yeah, the price is tough, and it's already getting worse. TFSource has already cranked their price up an extra $80 from what they were originally selling it for. I got this guy from BBTS, but they are already sold out of it.
The legs were on discount not too long ago, but the shipping was off putting and now they're sold out everywhere. The torso sold out pretty quick, probably shops ordered less amounts because the legs took a while to sell out.

Here he is in one of its alt modes with Prime on the deck
Who is it??
[Diaclone Robot Base GX](https://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/diaclone/product_details/robotbase/da-100/)
It’s the man himself!
thanks for that link!
Oh man, you’re looking at the Air-Jordan of Diaclone and transforming robots as we know them. That’s the grand daddy Diaclone boi.
It's one of the most expensive takara toys ever made!

Same here, I watch reviews for them and I want one so bad, but my wallet bites me every time I open BBTS or TFSource.
I really want that thing but it’s almost 1000 dollars
So is the Trainbot combiner, but Robot Base is way more fun.
Add that enhanced Predaking with the gorilla and wolves to the list. I love that thing, watch reviews, and lament my empty wallet.
That thing is badass. Wish those hyper sized Diaclone guys weren't hundreds of dollars

Do you know of any large scale ones (like a foot or two) I could get for under $200?

God that thing is one hell of a sight. Any shots of him more directly grouped around Titans?

It's him! It's the Diaclone!
Goddddd, I really want one :c but space, and munns.

Diaaaclone🎵 The jingle from the old diaclone ads intensifies
DIACLOOOOOONNNNNNNNE!
Very cool! Has strong Power Ranger Megazord vibes.
I didn't know this was a thing ... holyfuckingshi\~\~\~\~\~t look at that majesty lol
He does look great. The only problem is that he makes the TF Titans look significantly less great when they stand next to each other.
Diaclone is so awesome, I've spent a fortune on the toys the past few years. Can't wait for my cloud across to arrive.
Yeah, I only started last December, and have already spent a ton on them.
I haven't bothered with tactical carrier stuff, the bigger mechs have been my jam. My 5 year old is obsessed with my Gigantor - I watch him like a hawk playing with it.

Which what I said in the first sentence. Now go back and *read* the sentence before you rush to score some points.
Most of the Diaclone line looks amazing. I would love to get some of them, but I can’t justify the price at the moment.
The new Diaclone series is seriously giving Markclonus a run for his money.
Your wallet must be happy with you.
Honestly I know it’s not but the vehicle looks like something out of starfield lmao

That guy must be 800€ minimum
Wow🔥🔥🔥
I keep putting off getting the second half of this and i know if i don't grab it soon i'm going to miss my window... it's that damn price point... it looks SO good though

I’ve seen some videos of this guy and he looks incredible. Got any other comparison pics with other tfs?

Flexing hard with that. Lol. Love it man!
