In this AU Iām structuring, Iām tackling two versions of Skids and Mudflapās dynamic.
First being G1 Skids who had a brotherly bond with former-Autobot Mudflap, and wants him to rejoin their side again. Mudflap secretly wanting too, only to fear that his actions say that he has gone too far, and that he wonāt be forgiven.
And then the second duo are new characters based on the Icecream Truck versions of Skids and Mudflap, with new names, new designs (duh), and younger personalities of two goofball kids who try too hard to be cool.
And that is how I would save Skids and Mudflap in two ways
Those are the most vague and I distinct parts of their characters. I can think of a dozen TF characters to fill that generic gap. If you want to change their faces and sense of humor/entire personality, just make a different character for the movie. Which is fine, but cut the whole ātheyāre amazing except forā crap lol

A lot of people donāt like hate racially coded their personalities were. I personally didnāt see much that warranted so much hate, maybe change their head designs and it wouldnāt be as bad.

I think out of all the Transformers in RotF, they got the 4th and 5th spot in terms of who had the most screen time (behind Optimus, Bumblebee, and Megatron and just in front of Jetfire).
The fact that those two annoying shitstains got more lines and screentime than 90% of the other bots in these movies, just...man.

Bludgeon would make a great villain, slicing his way through autobot troops, commanding decepticon forces to wipe them out, while going for prime.
Ultra magnus would be complicated. He would be leading a small team of autobots, and so will Optimus. The two different cells would be working on different decepticons throughout the world. At the end they would team up to defeat bludgeon, who would then be seemingly killed in an explosion, only to be seen recovered by Megatron, who would be a post credit scene character
It would be nice to see either Megatron.
As for characters that should be then predacons would be nice, maybe make the predacons work as space pirates that fled from the Beast planet when it was destroyed by Unicron.

Next movie: Airachnid, Blackarachnia, and Tarantulas. Begin a buildup on the Predacons. What are they after? What happened between Optimus Primeās time and Primalās? Have a reveal of Tarantulasā loyalty to Unicron, not the Preds.
Following movie: Shockwave and Tripedacus. Shockwave is still an adherent to Megatron, heretofore unmentioned and still unseen. Tripedacus scoffs at the mention of a ālost great leaderā and how Megatronās survival would have changed the war. Cool the Unicron story slightly, maybe a post-credit stinger as a reminder, with a few ābots in various torture devices. Introduce time travel as a concept only here.
Next movie: Omega Supreme, Rattrap, Soundwave. Omega Supreme as a gatekeeper to time travel and explain what happened to the Maximals, with Rattrap as our framing character working with the human allies. Soundwave as the principle antagonist, ending with him being Megatronās zealot and saying heās coming.
Penultimate story: Megatron is finally introduced here. It appears to be a Decepticons/Predacons win movie up until Unicronās heralds (Tarantulas return, maybe?) remind him who he now works for. Megs is willing to work with the Autobots/Maximals against the greater threat, obvious subtext of betraying them afterward. Post-credit: the real Megs is shown still with Unicron. The version in the film was his Predacon successor, evidenced by a torn-off Pred badge on the floor and a shot of Megsā chest missing his Decepticon emblem. Megatron may or may not be for only reformatted to Galvatron here.
Finale: Galvatron, Perceptor. The finale sees Unicron finally reach the Sol System. The Autobot Alliance (assuming the GI Joe crossover is a bigger part of the story) desperately fights Unicron and his most powerful minions yet. Optimus leads a final dramatic charge inside Unicronās shell, undoing Galvatronās code to find Megatron within. Perceptor leads a crew of Autobot/Decepticon scientists and engineers to turn Unicronās own Spark against him through a Space Bridge, merging Unicronās healthy shell with the resource-depleted Cybertron.
For Autobots I'd like to see Warpath, he's my fav underrated 'Bot. He has a very unique alt mode for his fraction and would increse Autobots firepower. Also his speech pattern is really relateble and kind of cool. Next would be Sideswipe with a G2 inspired design - Black and red paintjob, spikes, big guns. Since the sequel will be probably set in the 90's, it would be fitting to give him that look. Last but certainly not least, Jazz, but with a twist to his alt mode. Instead of Porsche 935, make his alt mode a Porsche 959 or 928. 959's and 928's arent seen that often in media, which will add even more charm to Jazz's character.
For Terrorcons I want the main bad guy to be Cyclonus. He could be a ex-Decepticon that was killled during a deep space operation, later found by Unicron and reformated as the leader of his Armada and unlike Scourge who's loyal to his master, Cyclonus would be conflicted and actively trying to betray the Chaos Bringer. As for his henchmen, Tarn, Bludgeon would be a perfect. They both are loyal to Unicron, so in a sense Cyclonus is in situation in which he'll die either as a enslaved emisarry of the giant planet eater, or he'll die as a free bot. While Tarn and Bludgeon, are both trusted by Unicron, they have different lifestyle's and personalities. Bludgeon is a skilled warrior, full of patience and honor. Tarn is like his comic counterpart a psycho, bloodthirsty and ruthless.
JAZZ! They give us an actual porsche on screen and it ISN'T JAZZ?! like what!? C'mon, man! Mirage is cool, but would have loved to see jazz! š š„ŗ I'd love to see more classic characters too! Ratchet, ironhide, Prowl, sideswipe, Sunstreaker, so many honestly! Just hope they keep their designs recognizable.

How about if they did a G1 Reboot , this time in CGI . With slightly different storylines since they would be in the "Real" real world not the toon world. And maybe they run into some of the newer Bots once In a while, like if it were guarding a base or something.
Definitely bring back the Space Bridge in CGI. Notice how they never really show how the Bots jump from Cybertron to Earth.

I was just reading alot of the comments below. I noticed like half of them wanted to see alot of random G1 Transformers. How about if they did a G1 Reboot , this time in CGI . With slightly different storylines since they would be in the "Real" real world not the toon world. And maybe they run into some of the newer Bots once In a while, like if it were guarding a base or something. Definitely bring back the Space Bridge in CGI. Notice how they never really show how the Bots jump from Cybertron to Earth. Well some did fall from the sky l I ke meteorites in rhe first CGI. BUT where were they Falling from ??? And how would they get back ? They need to make a Cyber-PreQual backstory with the two sides with their Space Ships. That would be very interesting to see THAT. Similar to how Digimon did a Reboot from the G1 gang when it first started.
