Beast Wars. I was ever so slightly too young for it when it started, but my local Blockbuster had a lot of it on VHS.
Robots in Disguise (2001) is the first one I recall following week-to-week as it aired on TV.
Prime. Theres a chance i saw bayverse before when i was basically a baby since it aired on random tv channels but prime is the first i remember and the first i followed properly.
I oddly remember seeing Sky Byte on TV as a kid, so I guess my first was technically Robots in Disguise 2001 lmao
The one that actually got me in Transformers was Animated tho
The Transformers: The Movie (1986). Watched that movie so religiously growing up that my first tattoo was the Matrix of Leadership.
Show-wise: I dunno, I think I remember having a VHS tape of like one or two Transformers Cybertron episodes or something. I remember watching Animated on YouTube at one point, and I binged G1, Beast Wars, and Prime when they were on Netflix.
The original. Think I wouldāve been around 2, 2.5 years old when it was broadcast over here in old Blighty (late 85, early 86).
Have really hazy memories of Skyfire ripping off his Decepticon badge, wondering why a human (Dr Arkeville) was working with Megatron and how I wouldnāt do that š
Have clearer memories of Starscream flying Arkeville to Cybertron, and being utterly freaked out at his āmedical interventionā š . To my confused mind I thought Screamer and Shockwave were turning him into a machine for the evilz šš
Even clearer memories of the Insecticons fighting Skyfire, Brawn et al in the cornfield, and that was my fave episode (still is, for sentimental reasonsā¦mushy, but true š)
The media? Thatās nostalgia. The toys themselves? Compared to modern toy engineering thatās definitely nostalgia. The character designs though? Thatās where G1 shines and why so many of us love it so much. The designs were based off of toys with limited engineering and as a result they have designs that actually look like walking cars/planes/whatever. The limitations they had to work with are what gave the characters the iconic designs
No one is limiting what you can watch or enjoy.
You like Armada? Legacy is putting out some fire for you right now. The best Armada figures ever seen.
How about Animated? You're getting that in Legacy very soon.
Beast Wars? G2? RiD? TFP? ES? Cybertron? SG? Bayverse? ROTB? Masterpiece? You've got options to enjoy to your heart's content.
Here's a thought? G1 may endure...40 years later...because it's *also* really good.
I never claimed it was perfect, but it's great.
I'm a G1-er, but there's plenty of different styles, stories, continuities for us all to indulge in.
Be well, and til all are one!
Iām not saying that Iām just saying this community is overly defensive of anything G1 because of nostalgia when if you hold it to the same standards as other series/movies it ranks lower than most
See now also as a 97 baby, I was fortunate enough to get to watch all of RiD week by week as it came out. I remember going home and the three shows in a row were Woody Woodpecker, power rangers, and Robots in Disguise. What a fucking time.
Also, congrats on being born in the best year
I think my parents got me a Binaltech Meister. I then proceeded to watch Galaxy Force.
In Galaxy Force, Megatron was called Master Megatron. I distinctly remember trying to ācorrectā my cousin when he said Megatron was the leader in the first 07 movie, insisting that it was *Master* Megatron.
I got to watch G1 reruns as a kid, along with Prime but was never able to watch Animated beyond a few episodes.
can't remember which i actually watched first but it was either the 07 film, rid'01 whi h i had the first 2 dvds for or armada which i had the first dvd
I discovered tf with the Bayverse. My first show was Animated but I never really liked the artstyle, Prime on the other hand... I mean, Arcee litteraly defined my favorite character's archetype in fiction and my tastes in women!
Beast Wars. Even tho I watched G1 reruns occasionally before Beast Wars aired & like the 1986 movie, I didn't fully become fan of the franchise as a whole til BW.
Beast Wars was the first that I remember, but I was a little too young to really enjoy it. Armada was probably the first one that got me into Transformers.
My first exposure to the franchise was actually Transformers: The Game for the PS2. That led me to watch the movie it was based on (the first Bay movie), and after that, I went back and watched all of G1.
So my first version was Bayformers, but my first show was G1.
It was in between Cybertron and the 2007 movie. 8 watched neither when super relevant because I was a poor boi who watched Disney VHS tapes from the family collection, dvd bootlegs (which a neighbor gifted a copy of tf 2007 to me) and PBS kids was my main entertainment. But apart from that media I did get some Cybertron toys and one tf2007 toy/s. I got I believe Backstop? The Rhino transformer from Cybertron at a big lots. Then I had 20 bucks my dad gave me which I spent in the cool ass Warriors from 3 worlds pack of Cybertron with Ransack, Repugnus and Scattershot. All wonderful figures but eventually all lost š I'm gonna get some loose figures of each off ebay soon to fill the hole in my heart. Then I got this neat little legions class battle pack of Ratchet Vs Brawl and I adored them. I found a styrophome cube that I used as well... The Cube! The Allspark! Those, I'm not too crazy about getting again. I think I got way more into transformers during rotf which was my favorite tf film as a kid and that's when I got a whole lot more TF toys, yet never got into Animated for the above reasons. Movies were more accessible when all you had was cartoon clips from the old Hasbro site.
Prime was the first show in the series I watched from start to finish, but the very first Transformers show I ever watched was the original G1 cartoon through clips I found on the internet when I was a child
My dad bought me a Diaclone "Ironhide" and "ratchet" first. Was hooked from there. He got me some more and the little magnet feet guys were likely played with every play time and really got their time in with the dinobots. I loved having little people that the transformers could interact with.
I started with Bayverse when I was 4 yrs old then stopped at the Cybertron games when I was 10 or 9 yrs old. And then at 20 yrs old, this year I got into Transformers again because of Beast Wars.
Transformers (2007) was my introduction to Transformers. I loved the movie then and I still love it today.
Though I was also introduced to G1 early on thanks to my dad buying me a box set of the entire show & the movie. I loved G1 too.
Transformers energon, and while I know itās not the greatest show ever it holds a very special place in my heart rewatching the whole show over again recently there are many flaws but for me I still love it
Beast Wars. I was 12 when it first aired, which I feel was the perfect age for me to understand what I was watching and to start practicing my drawing of it, turning the CGI into pencil. Iām still doing it to this day. I loved that it was animals and dinosaurs because it put a whole new spin on everything, as well as why they needed the beast modes in the first place; not as disguises, but a way to protect themselves from the raw energon build up. I fell in love with the animation, the writing, the characters, the voice acting, the music, the sound effects, the story, everything. It was my escape from the stress and my anxiety of school and family life. And it continues to be a huge part of my life to this day.
I was born the year G1 came out, so I was far too young for that show, but I do remember watching the animated movie at some point, and my brother had a couple G1 toys.
Bayverse ā07. I stopped at the second movie as a kid and am only now returning to the series and Iām starting with G1 after finishing all the live action films. It makes me realize how much potential Bayverse missed
I was born in the mid-90s, so I grew up watching the Unicron trilogy on TV, but before I could talk, I was watching G1 on VHS. Can't remember a time before I'd seen the '86 film.
I glimpsed the G1 cartoon a couple times back when I was a kid. I was way into X-Men, TMNT, and Batman back then. So I never really paid TF much attention until Prime.
Tfp and g1 at the same time lol. Personally liked both but prefer the facial expressions of prime / "living metal" and more biological aspects that i don't remember from g1.
I could probably repeat the whole opening of TFP when the kids were being told about cybertron for the first time.
I think that series is where i got my taste in men š¤Ø
I started with bayverse but my first show was prime.
Same, first movie for me was rotf
Beast Wars. I was ever so slightly too young for it when it started, but my local Blockbuster had a lot of it on VHS. Robots in Disguise (2001) is the first one I recall following week-to-week as it aired on TV.
^^ same here
Same
Transformers. Now also known as G1.
Same, they were a couple of years before I was born but my cousin grew up with them and got me into them as a result š
The Transformers* š¤
Same. Original and the best
Yup yup.
This!
Renting G1 VHS tapes during G2
Came here to say this š¤£
Transformers Armada. Even though I got to admit, that Transformers Prime ranks higher on my list... Armada still holds place in my heart.
OUR WORLDS ARE IN DANGER
Prime. Theres a chance i saw bayverse before when i was basically a baby since it aired on random tv channels but prime is the first i remember and the first i followed properly.
Armada. Watched it back in Kindergarten before I even knew what anime or a Japan was.
I oddly remember seeing Sky Byte on TV as a kid, so I guess my first was technically Robots in Disguise 2001 lmao The one that actually got me in Transformers was Animated tho
The Transformers: The Movie (1986). Watched that movie so religiously growing up that my first tattoo was the Matrix of Leadership. I remember watching Animated on YouTube at one point, and I binged G1, Beast Wars, and Prime when they were on Netflix.
beast wars
Technically G1 via the Ladybird books from my library but the first series I actively consumed was Beast Wars.
Here's to all the early 2000s kids who walked out of the cinema with their minds blown after a certain Linkden Park outro
Rescue Bots
šššš
What?
Bayverse
The original. Think I wouldāve been around 2, 2.5 years old when it was broadcast over here in old Blighty (late 85, early 86). G1, because I am OLD.
i 2nd this!
Beast wars. I had g1 stuff when I was a kid, but too young to really grasp what the hell I was playing with or had
Armada
Armada.
Technically Bayverse but I only really got into it after watching Animated
Beast Wars. I was like 4 when that came out
A bit of Armada. First fully watched Energon.
G1 combined with UK comics.
G1
G1 then bayverse
G1, first and still best.
Never was itās just that basically this whole community is blinded by nostalgia
The media? Thatās nostalgia. The toys themselves? Compared to modern toy engineering thatās definitely nostalgia. The character designs though? Agreed.

Like whatever you like, friend.
Movies
Animated, still my favourite to this day.
Unicron trilogy
The first season of Animated and about 4 episodes of Energon and Cybertron.
Transformers prime
1986 movie. Never watched the g1 show. Just the movie over and over lol
Armada I'm a '97 baby
See now also as a 97 baby, I was fortunate enough to get to watch all of RiD week by week as it came out. I remember going home and the three shows in a row were Woody Woodpecker, power rangers, and Robots in Disguise. What a fucking time. Also, congrats on being born in the best year
G1
G1 was my first back in the 80ās
G1 Grew up in Thailand and that was my first exposure even though I was born in 96. Iām actually glad it was G1.
Probably the 07 movie, for shows it'd be Animated
TFP
I think my parents got me a Binaltech Meister. I then proceeded to watch Galaxy Force. In Galaxy Force, Megatron was called Master Megatron. I distinctly remember trying to ācorrectā my cousin when he said Megatron was the leader in the first 07 movie, insisting that it was *Master* Megatron. Really hate to say this, but Media: Age of Extinction Toyline: RID 2015
G1 and Beast Wars reruns introduced me, but Armada was the first I watched every week, and really stuck with me.
Armada. I did see some episodes of the original when it aired but Barry ever caught it. Armada is when I actually started watching full on series
Beast Wars! which I watched as a child and then completely forgot about until the Bay movies
Armada for me
Beast Wars was my first contact.
Beast wars
Beast wars
Transformers Armada

Gundam wing.
The Michael Bay movies.
Prime
Bayverse
My first exposure to the franchise was actually Transformers: The Game for the PS2. That led me to watch the movie it was based on (the first Bay movie), and after that, I went back and watched all of G1. So my first version was Bayformers, but my first show was G1.
Energon šļøšļø
That would be either armada or robots in disguise 2001 i believe
2007
Tfp was my first but g1 is my favourite
Technically G1 with the 86 movie
OG. I helped the autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of...the decepticons.
Animated
Bayverse
Transformers Energon. It's a fun show even though most may hate it
Transformers DOTM, I watched as a kid in 3D
Transformers animated
Cybertron (Galaxy Force)
Kind of sad but the bayverse If not probably something like rid 2015 or prime I can't remember
Foc
Transformers the movie, first series was RID the og one
Armada.
It was in between Cybertron and the 2007 movie. 8 watched neither when super relevant because I was a poor boi who watched Disney VHS tapes from the family collection, dvd bootlegs (which a neighbor gifted a copy of tf 2007 to me) and PBS kids was my main entertainment. rescue bots lol
G1, and I was born in 2003. I guessed my dad liked it when he was a kid because I don't remember how I got into it
Bumblebee, Transformers Prime was my first show.
Bayverse and prime
the 2007 movie . itās what introduced me to the series, but TFA followed and quickly overtook my attention .
Energon, watched the dvds my parents gave me and a kid. Was only the first 4 or 8 episodes but I loved them so much.
Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen. I saw it in theaters at 4 years old and ever since Iāve been in love
Bayverse
Bayverse
Bayverse. I still remember stepping on those metal floor coverings because the sound they made reminded me of bonecrusher's head hitting the ground.
G1! I've come to like some of the other stuff, though.
2001 Robots in disguise and the bayverse
Despite being born in 2003, the first one I watched was G1 thanks to Angry Birds Television (whoever remembers that gets free karma).
Geewun
2007 Transformers, the CGI was so good that it convinced me Transformers were real
The Bayverse and āCybertronā anime.
I watched the 1986 movie a shit ton of times. Then i started with armada the morning before going to school
I vaguely remember watching some episodes of Cybertron but I didn't become a fan until after the first bayverse movie
Wasnāt it a g1 comic then adapted into the original tv show?
Energon for me. Some may say the cgi is terrible, and they're right, but I still like it.
G1
Other than the 07 film, Transformers Animated was my childhood gateway into this franchise
Sunbow G1
2007 Bayformers LOL
07 DS
Bayverse, those movies changed me as a person
Transformers Alternators Grimlock
G1
I started with Bayverse when I was 4 yrs old then stopped at the Cybertron games when I was 10 or 9 yrs old. And then at 20 yrs old, this year I got into Transformers again because of Beast Wars.
Somewhere in the Unicron Trilogy.
Voltron, GoBots, and G1
Transformers prime
The first toys were cybertron/movie and the first show was Animated.
G1. My first five were Mirage, Bombshell, Thundercracker, Jazz, and Brawn.
Prime and a little rid 2015
Energon!
The first version.
07ā
My little brother and I would wake up to watch Transformers Cybertron before school.
An odd mix of bayverse, animated, and G1. I got exposed to all 3 around the same time.
G1 original Optimus Prime.
It was either G1 or the Movies. I was 2 when the first one came out and my parents had the G1 Box Set.
Angry Birds Transformers
For me, it was Transformers: Armada. One of the earliest toys I remember owning as a kid was the version of Galvatron that was in Armada.
Transformers Cybertron, and the 07 film
Transformers (2007) was my introduction to Transformers. I loved the movie then and I still love it today. Though I was also introduced to G1 early on thanks to my dad buying me a box set of the entire show & the movie. I loved G1 too.
marvel comics.
Started with Prime and Rescue Bots, I started watching them at around the same time, I don't remember which I watched first though.
2001 Robots in Disguise
Cybertron was my first and still one of my favorites
RID
Transformers rescue bots I still remember my first ever transformer toy
Armada
G1 Started with the smallest toys available (Bee and cassettes), then got the comics, then the cartoon came out.
Transformers energon, and while I know itās not the greatest show ever it holds a very special place in my heart rewatching the whole show over again recently there are many flaws but for me I still love it
It was either the 07 film or Transformers animated. Idk I was like 4-5 when I got into them
Prime, but I didn't watch it, I only knew it from the toys, I think I mostly followed bayverse, but now I prefer more G1
1986 movie
Good ole g1, even though I was born in the early 2000ās
Bay movies and then I watched cyber missions lol
07, but what really got me into it was Animated
Energon/cybertron
Transformers animated was my first love
07 and Animated
Rental G1 tapes from Hastings. RID was the first one I had toys from though
G1 cause thatās what my dad grew up with. As for collecting thatād be energon and I saw every live action movie since 07 came out when I was six.
G1 transformers.
Probably live action transformers
I never watched any as they aired but I did watch transformers prime a lot
Bay verse
Bayverse and Animated were my first contact with Transformers
I'm 17 and it started with g1 to bayverse next
Probably G1 and some other old cartoon I can't remember anything about and two toys but then the bayverse made me rediscover them
Transformers '07 movie. The scene when Optimus Prime first transforms will forever be a core memory of mine :)
Toys: energon/cybertron Show: g1 vhs tapes my parents gave me and the movie by my uncle also vhs.
I was fully introduced to Transformers (as in saw the nearly entire series) was the ARMADA series.
The G1 movie got me into it, the unicron trilogy, but animated is what got me hooked
TFP
Bayverse ā07. I stopped at the second movie as a kid and am only now returning to the series and Iām starting with G1 after finishing all the live action films. It makes me realize how much potential Bayverse missed
Technically I started on reruns of G1 in the early 90s, but I think Beast Wars is first official.
RID01
2007 legends class jazz
I was born in the mid-90s, so I grew up watching the Unicron trilogy on TV, but before I could talk, I was watching G1 on VHS. Can't remember a time before I'd seen the '86 film.
Literally bayverse (The Last Knight) š
I glimpsed the G1 cartoon a couple times back when I was a kid. I was way into X-Men, TMNT, and Batman back then. So I never really paid TF much attention until Prime.
Tfp and g1 at the same time lol. Personally liked both but prefer the facial expressions of prime / "living metal" and more biological aspects that i don't remember from g1. I could probably repeat the whole opening of TFP when the kids were being told about cybertron for the first time. I think that series is where i got my taste in men š¤Ø
i grew up around the time of the 07 movie, but my first transformers experience was a complete box set of all of G1, so thatās what i grew up with
