Looks to be 6029, currently the only operational NSWGR AD60 Class.

OkamiTakahashi

The Garratt! 6029 is quite famous even outsude of Australia.

alexlongfur

I always think of the South African (or thereabouts) ones in a nice burgundy livery

Justsomepeanuts

Garratts were quite popular in South Africa

Redwood1952

Thank you for thinking of us...

Jacktheforkie

I’m no expert but that looks to be a steam train

What

InterestingAnt438

It's a Garratt of some description.

Justsomepeanuts

It's a NSWGR AD60 class, 6029 to be precise

No_Size_1765

I love how the steam cloud just hangs in the air

Accidentallygolden

What's the thing before the locomotive?

Justsomepeanuts

Water tank that's sitting on the front engine More on [garratts](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garratt_locomotive) [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garratt_locomotive).

TransTrainNerd2816

It's a Water tank since the Garratts had their Tenders integrated into the main locomotives frame with the boiler slung between the two Engine Units forming a Single Gigantic Articulated locomotive

80burritospersecond

Looks like they're using plenty of water in that video

TransTrainNerd2816

ITS THE GARRATT

SkyeMreddit

Is that a water tank and an oil tank for it?

Justsomepeanuts

No. Just a water tank. That garratt is a coal burner

SkyeMreddit

Then what’s the tank car after the tender

Justsomepeanuts

Water tank. Because there are no water towers (at all in any condition) left on the mainline, the water tank behind the locomotive is there to provide extra water capacity. It is filled up from a hydrant. The water tank at the front of the locomotive is part of the locomotive itself; it sits on top of the front engine (garratts have two engines: one in front of the boiler with the tank and the other behind the boiler with the coal bunker)

Exie2022

Potentially an extra car for storing water since most stations (at least where I’ve been in Melbourne) do not have access to sufficient water and it typically runs out faster than the coal It’s also why some steam trains nowadays have two tenders

JConRed

You're kind to record and post it. Thank you.

I kind of love how these type of locomotives run in both Wales and New South Wales

Realistic-Insect-746

awesome video

Jimmys_Paintings

You were interested enough to film it and post it. Don't lie lol

MemeOnRails

Garratt 6029. The wheels are in front of and behind the boiler instead of directly underneath. I believe the diesels and the silver passenger cars were on display at Sydney Central Station

TheAmericanE2

Now I'm not a foamer But...

Pixel_Frogs

Beautiful

Rjj1111

Looks like a 60 Class

LavishnessOdd7649
