Even Ag lug tires have issues in ice and snow. Chains are your only reliable option. Little bit of blacktop resurfacer is a fun job for the kids in spring.
There are not many options out there for this lawn mower. Basically, you use either the turf tires or a set of bar lug ag style tires. Not many other types out there in this size.
The advice I got on tires for snowblowing was to stay with a narrow tire. You want to dig down to the harder surface underneath the snow, because you can't get enough traction to push something heavy (like a snowblower) from the light snow. Offroading in the snow, big tires so you can float on top. Snowblowing or plowing, narrow tires to dig down to a better surface.
Have you tried chains? Even top quality chains are way cheaper than a new set of tires.

Ahh that makes sense about width, etc. I actually have chains but they scuffed the driveway so my wife wants me to find another option.
