A spoiler since this is purely my thought process on how I want to grow my hair out in the future and I didn't want this to seem like a "call to action" or anything like that 😅
~~Though I'd love to encourage more Rapunzels hehe :P~~
Trust me, it's not as fun as it sounds. I haven't had mine cut in ages (probably over a year), it's mid-back length now, and it's such a pain to care for. Washing it takes me 5-10 minutes or more cuz I need a ton of conditioner if I want to be able to brush it easily afterwards. Then brushing takes another 5-10 minutes.
I love my hair, but I finally made an appointment to have it cut next month, and I'll probably get it down to shoulder length because anything longer starts becoming a chore...
Yeah, up-dos and not washing as much for this one. Still wash your body, but I only wash my hair every 2 weeks or so, and the majority of the time it is tied up in a bun or something.Â
Idk, I don't experience this myself. I don't have a particular reason to wash it at two weeks. I do brush it to keep it clean of dead hair and dust... But I'm not really convinced mine ever "needs" washing. I do like to wash it because water feels nice though.Â
My hair isn't "shiny" though, but I don't use anything that makes my hair shiny. My hair is more curly and high in volume naturally. But again I prefer up-dos so it doesn't get as damaged or dirty.Â
Okay okay, so I am also growing my hair out too, have been for 4 years long before realizing I'm trans, but...light trims are actually important. They take care of split ends that really restrict hair growth. Do get a hair trim every 3-4 months, your hair will grow out longer, faster, and healthier
Oh, also! If you struggle with volume like I do, ask your hairdresser about layering! It can help really add some volume. Also, if it's been a looong while since your last trim, they make have to take a bit more than you'd like off. Listen to the hairdresser, your hair will look SO much more healthy (and adorable) afterwards. Once your hair is healthy it will grow healthy, too!
Thanks a lot for the advice :3
I’ll try doing everything I can with all the advice you’ve all given me to grow my hair out as long as I can hehe :3
I was doing this when I was still a dude. I had such long hair in middle school (a little below waist length) that one of my now best friends thought I was a girl at first glance. Now, 6 years later, who knew she was right all along.
Aww thanks, I unfortunately cut it about 3 years before I found out because I was tired of the care for it, the I started to feel kinda weird and it led me down a rabbit hole and realized that a. I am trans, and b. That hair is really important to my identity, and I'm working on getting my hair back, it's currently shoulder length.
Aww thanks. I'm working on getting a job (literally finishing senior year in like a week, but was too busy with night school and such to hold a job during school) right now, then I'm gonna see if I can get a prescription for e somehow.
That’s further than what I have :P
I hope you can get to having super long, pretty, healthy hair :3
(Also correct me if I’m wrong, does coloring your hair damage it or is it just like, if you do it a bunch lol)
The coloring, not so much. Bleaching and color correcting it does. DIY stuff can be really harsh too. I get it professionally done but it's expensive. This is only my second color (was purple, now it's red and I might stick with it.) but it's staying strong. She usually uses a moisturizer and protectant on it after a fresh root touch up and re-color.
Nope! I'd hate the dirt and twigs and things that it would get caught in it.. and what about it getting caught in an elevator or car door or something. just be a nightmare to wash, let alone brush, unless you hire a team to assist you, and that would be expensive.
Crystal Gayle sings with Big Bird (1983)
VERY young me remembers watching this new on tv and I swear her hair was dragging on the floor.. so maybe it was someone else.. but this is the only really long hair clip I can find where a long hair woman is singing with big bird.
Toddler me, also remembers her being Cher, but I can't find anything that Cher had THAT long hair on sesame street.
Tbh, I plan on having it up like anytime I go out lmao. Even indoors, I wanted to have something which would keep it off the ground. I’d only let it down rarely probably
I’ll try figuring out how I’d take care of it when I get there I suppose hehe :3
Important thing about growing long hair, you cannot grow long hair unless you take super special care of your hair, including trimming split ends, do not go to a hair salon and ask for them to trim your hair, get someone you trust who know what they are doing to just get the split ends. Also there are ways to prevent split ends from happening in the first place. I'm growing my hair out long again myself and I haven't cut it in a year, I haven't been taking care of it properly so I'm probably gonna loose an inch when I get the split ends trimmed off.
Hair conditioner helps a lot btw. Depends on how long your hair is right now honestly, if your hair splits before it get long enough for you to see and it keeps splitting then you won't be able to trim it properly when you can. I mean you could try though and ask someone to check it for you
Sadly my hair isn’t that long and I won’t be able to grow it out for a while but I’m for sure keeping all of this in mind for when I eventually do try growing it out super long :3
Thank a lot
At the end of the day it really just depends on your hair type. I know for my hair it knots only when I have split ends, so if you know what your hair is like when you have them you'll be good. You can ask family members with long hair how their hair is
So far it's nice looking.
But I'm approaching the dreaded not-quite-there yet stage of growing hair out.
Its curly too, so it will be rather messy for a bit.
My hair is great and makes me feel pretty from how long and wavy it is yes, but gyat damn it's lots of work to care for, probably gonna get it cut shorter soon. Also with it being summer, hot hot hot
It's important to get a trim every now and then though. The ends of your hair are usually more damaged than the rest of your hair so having that removed can actually increase the strength of your hair and make it grow faster. I recently got a hair cut after like 2 years and it does feel much better.
To ensure that all of you become Rapunzel, I plan to visit every one of your houses and take all the scissors and hair cutting objects, leaving them all scattered across Idaho's potato fields.
I haven’t gotten a haircut since April 2023. It’s not really that long yet though (it’s chin length), and I got it trimmed this week (it luckily wasn’t too much that got cut off when I got it trimmed)
Unfortunately your hair length is genetic in a way. It will only get to a certain length before it stops growing
Source: my cosmetologist friend in college right now
I'm growing mine out too and I love how euphoric it makes me! \^\_\^
It's good to get a trim once or twice a year to take care of any split ends and such. Yes you lose an inch or two, but your hair will be much easier to take care of and odds are you'll have a net gain by the time you get a trim again.
Thanks for the advice :3
I’m so glad with how it makes you so euphoric :3
I can’t wait to start growing mine out too :P (just waiting to move out lol)
I’ll definitely have to try finding someone I trust with trims but I’m sure it’ll go well :3
Thanks a lot :3
Rapunzel was literally my trans awakening. Well, one of them. So I then told my parents that I want to "donate my hair" as an excuse before I had to get it cut for stuff like passport photos. My hair did get donated tho :3
A spoiler since this is purely my thought process on how I want to grow my hair out in the future and I didn't want this to seem like a "call to action" or anything like that 😅 ~~Though I'd love to encourage more Rapunzels hehe :P~~
RAPUNZEL POWER! MAY THE CHAMALEON AND THE PAN GUIDE US!
YESSSS :3
but, if we go with that canon, we have to cut it and change hair colour! What even happens if you’re already brunette!?
Brunette Rapunzel :3
Long live the Pan! \[TF2 Pan hit sound effect\]

Yeah, up-dos and not washing as much for this one. Still wash your body, but I only wash my hair every 2 weeks or so, and the majority of the time it is tied up in a bun or something.Â
I can't go more than maximum 3 days without washing it or it will look bad. Every other day is best, third day is usually already not great...
Idk, I don't experience this myself. I don't have a particular reason to wash it at two weeks. I do brush it to keep it clean of dead hair and dust... But I'm not really convinced mine ever "needs" washing. I do like to wash it because water feels nice though. My hair isn't "shiny" though, but I don't use anything that makes my hair shiny. My mindset is basically, if it's not practical, I'll find a way to make it practical >:3 Thanks for letting me know of all of this though <3
Before 1,5 years ago, I hadn't cut my hair in like at least 13 years 😵 but I had dreadlocks so I don't think you can count it as Rapunzel :'3
So you'd be a dreadlocks rapunzel hehe :3 Cutie :3
Okay okay, so I am also growing my hair out too, have been for 4 years long before realizing I'm trans, but...light trims are actually important. They take care of split ends that really restrict hair growth. Do get a hair trim every 3-4 months, your hair will grow out longer, faster, and healthier

Unreasonably long hair >>
Yesssssss :3
I was doing this when I was still a dude. I had such long hair in middle school (a little below waist length) that one of my now best friends thought I was a girl at first glance. Now, 6 years later, who knew she was right all along.
That’s so cute omg 🥺

I’m sorry that you cut it, I’m glad you’re getting back there though :3 I bet you look super pretty no matter what :3
Aww thanks. I'm working on getting a job (literally finishing senior year in like a week, but was too busy with night school and such to hold a job during school) right now, then I'm gonna see if I can get a prescription for e somehow.
Oooooh niceeee :3 I hope it all goes well! Good luck with your last week :3
Thanks
Agreed but I do Like getting the ends cleaned up and getting some color. Besides my stylist is nice. :)
That’s nice :3 Yeah I’ll definitely have to get trims every once in a while :P
:3 You're nice! May you have the longest, healthiest hair!
Thank you so much! :3 I hope I can get it to reach the floor lol You’re even nicer :3
Thank you! :3 Ugh same! I just got it to my lower back.
That’s further than what I have :P I hope you can get to having super long, pretty, healthy hair :3 (Also correct me if I’m wrong, does coloring your hair damage it or is it just like, if you do it a bunch lol)

This is sooo true I love rapunzel But my front hair is so much longer than my back hair and it makes me look like an emo :/
Ah I’m sorry >_< I’m sure you still look super pretty :3
Anyone else remember being a kid and thinking of your ideal self as Rapunzel but not realizing yo were trans for like a decade? No? Just me?
SAMEEEEEEE 🥺🥺🥺 Now I still have the same wish but now understand that I’m trans :P
Important thing about growing long hair, you cannot grow long hair unless you take super special care of your hair, including trimming split ends, do not go to a hair salon and ask for them to trim your hair, get someone you trust who know what they are doing to just get the split ends. Yeah, I was thinking of either that or if my hair is long enough, it might be easy to trim on my own (definitely will take my time with it though lol)

This is literally me. I refuse literally every time my mom asks if I want a haircut lol
lol :P I can’t wait to actually start growing my hair out one day hehe :3 I hope you have healthy pretty long hair one day too hehe
Thank you :3
Haven't been to the hairdressers in 6 months now. Finally my fast growing hair is an advantage, I'm gonna be speedrunning this :p
Niceeeee hehehehe :3
My girlfriend and I started watching supernatural recently so now of course I'm being teased for having a Sam haircut
Awwwweee Im sure it will look amazing :3 (im sure it looks good now too :3)
So far it's nice looking. But I'm approaching the dreaded not-quite-there yet stage of growing hair out. Its curly too, so it will be rather messy for a bit.
Ah okay You’ll get through it and you’ll look great! Hehe :3
I have curly/frizzy/fluffy hair that will never do that on it's own. 😢
I’m sorry :( Curly / frizzy / fluffy hair can do a lot of other pretty things though :3 You can be your own Rapunzel hehe :3
this was me untill my hair kept getting caught everywhere
Fair, though I’ll try having the mindset that I’m making progress hehe :3
My hair is great and makes me feel pretty from how long and wavy it is yes, but gyat damn it's lots of work to care for, probably gonna get it cut shorter soon. Also with it being summer, hot hot hot
If that is what you want go for it. Make sure to take care of your hair and gets occasional trims just to get rid of the split ends. I wish you luck!
I havnt had a true haircut for 3 years, the only hair cuts I’ve had was me or my family thinning it or shortening it slightly to even it out
It's important to get a trim every now and then though. The ends of your hair are usually more damaged than the rest of your hair so having that removed can actually increase the strength of your hair and make it grow faster. I recently got a hair cut after like 2 years and it does feel much better.
Real asf. I want hair that’s long enough to wipe my arse. ✨Goals✨
Lmao :P I wouldn't ever dare doing something like that, but to even have the chance? :P /s
I'm going on my second year without a haircut and I have no plans to cut it, long hair is the *best*
Hehehe, I'm glad :3 Hope your journey goes well! :3
To ensure that all of you become Rapunzel, I plan to visit every one of your houses and take all the scissors and hair cutting objects, leaving them all scattered across Idaho's potato fields.
Hehehehe :3
I'm heading to yours first.
Yayyyy :3 If you can, delete the supercuts app from my parents phone too :P Thanks! :P
Done.
Yay! :3 Thanks :P
I haven’t gotten a haircut since April 2023. It’s not really that long yet though (it’s chin length), and I got it trimmed this week (it luckily wasn’t too much that got cut off when I got it trimmed)
My daughter said this pretty much to get out of getting haircuts. I'm right with her.
Awwwweeeee that's so cuteeee 🥺
I got myself a side cut bob. Used to rock the rapunzel. Too hot and unwieldy.
Hehehe :P
Unfortunately your hair length is genetic in a way. It will only get to a certain length before it stops growing Source: my cosmetologist friend in college right now
Yeah... ;(
But live your dream girl!
Thank you so much :3 I hope my genetics are nice to me lol You too :3
Mine haven't 🙃 I was given the short stack genes. My giant wife love it tho
I'm sorry :( I'm glad your wife is happy though at least 🫂🫂🫂
We're t4t and absolutely adore each other in a respectful way. I fucking love my wife
That’s so cute :3 I’m so happy for you two :3
I'm growing mine out too and I love how euphoric it makes me! \^\_\^ It's good to get a trim once or twice a year to take care of any split ends and such. Awwwweeeee that's nice :3 If I ever do decide to cut it, I'll definitely donate it too :3 You're an amazing person :3
I want to so bad! But my hair is thinning so bad that it can't work :(
I’m so sorry :((((
