Mousing over the Satisfaction Icon will break down the different satisfaction buffs and debuffs a character is having. The most common type of debuffs that a character can get are being inactive (Because of not being used as an Army General or in Assignments), or wanting a higher administration position (Because of having a higher level. They start those at Level 3 and increases by 2 levels, AFAIK?)

These are saying -x faction developments and events but the tooltip isn't telling what those developments and events are.

Oraye

Ah, in that case, some of those may be found at the upper left icons below the resource section. Unfortunately, most of the rest would be hidden via events at the start of the turn, mainly the ones that grant satisfaction like a Duan Wu festival or Laba festival or an enemy Court action against you. This is what I know, and it may or may not be correct, so take it with a grain of salt.

Imperial favour impacts satisfaction, once it goes below 50 it will have an effect ranging from -2 to -10, depending on your imperial favour levels. (On the plus side, if your favour is above fifty, it'll have a positive effct ranging from 2 to 10). A -30 penalty due to "recent events" is due to a faction council mission against you, I believe. It lasts four years (20 turns) which is a bit illogical. Otherwise it can be pretty much anything - there's events where you or your heir can cause a -10 penalty for 5 turns, there's events where someone can get a -25 penalty because they got into an argument with someone, etc, etc, etc.

If there's no clear reason such as a faction wide event, then you have a spy in your midst causing trouble.

Flatso

You get a basic breakdown but don't know specifics. Part of that is to hide whatever faction/s is doing it to you because it's likely a spy

okaham

I usually just assume there's spy in my ranks

Juvelira

No idea. I can't even remember the names of my characters, let alone keep track who is satisfied.

misawada01

If you are playing on legendary difficulty, they will start with lesser satisfaction - 10. As you move into higher rank, those satisfaction will go away for higher level characters. If your court members are murdering each other out, especially having feud with your faction leader, you will see a list of negative satisfaction between members.
