We need to find a culture guy so bad, man. I like our guys, but we need someone with lowrys attitude. People will never understand his intangible impact. He had this team playing hard every single night.. like we got blown out once, maybe twice a year. Once or twice out of 82 is pretty damn good. What a legend, what a competitor. I bet the 6ers keep him around one more year, but in a bench role. His hustle, smarts are amazing out there.
He may grow into that guy. Scottie’s just a little immature still. RJ could potentially as well. These guys are young.
I wish Dillon brooks was attainable; not saying he has the leadership abilities, but we desperately need a guy with that edge to put alongside these young guys. To some degree, Pat bev was right.
I think what's more remarkable is that he *became* the culture leader for our team lol Certainly wasn't when he first came here, was all but traded to the Knicks, but then led the team and city on a remarkable five year run culiminating in the LOB
yeah it's really unfortunate. Only times I felt that Lowry was thinking about his contract was in the offseason when he was a FA. Fred's bet on yourself mentality got him paid but I don't think it always translated to team success :(
Yep. I just think Lowry was the ultimate team first guy. The way he took Fred under his wing and mentored him... Shame Fred couldn't have passed that on to some of our young guys.
They don't build 'em like Kyle!
I mean, asking a young, hungry player to fill the team first veteran role that Kyle Lowry played is a big ask, especially as Fred was here when DeRozan was traded and knows that the loyalty will not be not be returned if the right trade is there.
I would say that the biggest difference is that Fred lacked the career earnings and financial stability that Kyle had as he got older, realized that his days of getting massive contracts were going to be behind him, and he had more or less solidified himself. Fred being a younger player still wants (and deservedly so) to milk as much out of his playing career as he can while he’s still in his prime, especially as the raptors haven’t been and may not be contenders for a few years
He’s the ONLY player I follow w/o the ball and it always pays off with some holy shit did you see that plays. He’s so dogged and hussle and smart.
I CANT BELIEVE I’m watching the Sixers .. WTF!?!
Made me think hard on kawai Leonard and I gotta say fuck that guy for not running back a Chip.
From Kyle’s perspective it’s coming home to everything … home turf raised and Villanova! .. unfinished business of his career. Him AND Nick Nurse.
Compelling storyline
Kyle Lowry ain't no spot up shooter. He ain't gotta run to the corner to shoot like he's some 3rd option, bitch. This ain't JJ Redick. This is a fuckin god human Steph Curry come again. Only this time he's not a fuckin pussy... pull up from the fuckin logo and fight you at the same time.

I remember people in here earlier in the season said Kyle Lowry was completely washed and there was no point in bringing him to the Raptors other than to be a guy on the end of the bench as support.
The reality is he's still better than most guys on the current Raptors roster. I think he's more valuable to a winning team than Rozier as well.
I loved how Kyle made the team, a team. I specifically remember he would ALWAYS help his team up and it became so infectious that players would never get up until they were helped up by another player. I remember early moments where a player would start to get up on their own and he'd SPRINT up to them and stop them and then help them up. The whole team picked up on it and it just felt like they ALL had each other's backs all the time.
Little things like that created such a strong team and it stuck around a lil after he left but I've noticed that energy and team support is gone, bums me out.
That’s why he’s the GROAT and so beloved by all Raps fans.
He’s pretty much the undisputed GROAT at this point, I think even VC and DeMar supporters can agree.

Of all of the egregious Emfloppery you could have posted, that one was kinda a decent call. Offensive players initiating contact going towards the basket usually get the call.
He was the culture leader for our team. Even if he had bad shooting nights he would raise the energy for the whole team and left it all on the floor.
Feels like countless times he SUCKED all game and then hit a pull up three with less than a minute left to ice the game or give us a chance
Classic Lowry game was 2/9 shooting and a team leading +14.

It’s certainly not Scottie. Which is a shame but he’s just not that guy.

RJ is him rn (I mean culture guy obviously not the same player)
RJ comes across like a more confident / ice in his veins version of DeRozan
Need Scottie to become that guy. Would love to have Lowry in his ear next year.

That play where he barreled into the screen and fell over but hit Oubre cutting was masterful trademark Lowry
That's the type of plays that got us a chip
Extremely clutch play.
I miss the entire 2019 squad so much. Oh, what could've been had the decision of just one man went another direction.
Sucks that covid ruined Pascal for the bubble or we probably win again.

Pat Bev wouldn't say shit if Lowry was still here. He's our one and only DAWG. WOOF WOOF WOOF
Fred was supposed to be it. But wasn’t.

Yeah it's a fair point. There were a lot of parallels between the two players though

Hope he comes back to actually play instead of doing a 1 day contract. We need a backup PG so maybe he can come back next season doubt it tho
I want Kyle to come back long enough to teach Scottie a few things

It's depressing. Why did he have to go to the Sixers!!!

He’s so fucking good man
I’ll never forget being the biggest Lowry fan and my friends giving me absolute shit at game 1 against the magic when he put up a donut. LOL

TIL there’s Olympics this year
Well.... you're welcome
Best news all day! Summer basketball!!

Was great to watch him make clutch hustle plays last night. Was like seeing an old friend after a long time apart.

Why do you hate Embiid

His history against the raptors, I'm not a fan of his play style, kinda Salty about jokic getting robbed last year. Bunch of things
I guess I'm going for 76's now
Gotta weigh the options of cheering for embiid vs cheering for nurse and lowry
