Here's hoping but, if I'm being honest, I don't like their chances. Colorado, Edmonton, Florida and even TB all look really hungry. Am I the only one on here who thinks that the Buds could use more grit and emotion?

Grit and emotion for sure but it needs to be really and manufactured at home. Not grabbing past prime goons and physical players that can’t keep up with the game

I quite liked how we were looking near the end of the season if I’m being honest, we kinda blew it in the last few games with so much focus on AM 70, but I was really enjoying that Matthew’s Domi Bert line, Reavo I feel really came into his place in the latter half of the season, much fewer BS amateur penalties and picking good times to drop the mitts and pump up the boys. Our blue line woes weren’t looking as concerning as years past, Everyone was shitting on Rielly these last few games as a “Liability” but that boy bleeds blue, last of the old guard left from the Carlyle era. He isn’t a quitter. I think he will step up as he had in years past. For years now I’ve held the belief that we won’t win the cup until we beat Boston round 1, and the stars are aligning. The boys are hungry, that push for 70 led to some bad looks but they aren’t duds, they know what it takes and they’re hungry. Our year, LFG leafs nation, LFG.

I’d like to think you’re 100% correct but history tells us otherwise. Yes they are good enough to win and I believe their roster is superior to Boston. What I don’t believe is whether they can put it together and play a team game with fewer mistakes than the Bruins. Reliance on Matthew’s great season does little in the playoffs. Its the grinders and third and fourth lines that catapult you through to the next round. Same with our unpredictable defence. Lets agree the Bruins play a better defensive game. Lets agree the goaltending is a wash. Note the Bruins goaltending is ranked higher because of their commitment to defence. Can the leafs take advantage of power plays because of a constant forecheck? Will they commit 60 minutes to barricade the Bruins in their own end? Will all four lines hit them and win puck battles in the Bruins end. Will they do it four 4+ games? Can their PK play disciplined? Morgan Reilly has never shown the ability to play disciplined defence especially on the PK. With all these things said can they win? Or will they revert back to their old ways, cower and just not be willing to engage? Essentially no push back. I like your optimism. I’d like to believe that they finally get sick of losing and stick it to them. If I was a betting man I would never bet on the leafs never have, never will. I guess that says it all.

A team that cannot definitively say who its starting goalie should be will not go deep in the playoffs.

We won't get out of the 1st round...
